Ryan Hunter (Grover Beach Team #2) by Piper Shelly
:star: :star: :star: :star: :star:

Piper Shelly just released Ryan Hunter book!!! :) It's on her Wordpress blog. You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login How cool is that?! It's until Chapter 8. I haven't read it yet, will do later when I wake up. Yay! UPDATE, the book got a total of 14 Chapters plus an Epilogue.

REVIEW

OMG!!! I love Ryan Hunter a helluva LOT!!! Reading their story, Ryan and Liza, all over again and told from Ryan's POV... WOW. I like it! It is really nice knowing what Ryan Hunter thought about Liza. I really liked knowing how and what Liza do to him. Dammit. Pretty cool and sweet.

But I just had to say... Ryan Hunter sounds like a horny dude in here. LMAO. Well, I guess that's how some men's mind thinks. *smirk* And for a male teenager, I could understand his... situation. Good thing he is really in love with Liza and not the type who just want to get into her pants.

Thank you Sheryl for you know what! ;) This is such a fun read as always. Piper Shelly did a good job once again! :) Hope to hear from Tony soon! :)

I am just saying that I do understand him because I also gone thru the teenager phase. I mean we all are. So it's okay to be like that. Blame it to the hormones. And yes, it is YA. When did I ever read Adult books? LOL. Unless you all gang up on me, that's only the time I read Adult books.

Bye! see you all later.

Review: The Surgeon (Rizzoli & Isles #1) by Tess Gerritsen

The Surgeon (Rizzoli & Isles #1) by Tess Gerritsen
:star: :star: :star: :star:

In any mystery series, you can say whether it is worth following just by checking out the first installment. This is not valid just for books but also for movies or TV series. If it captures your attention, then you found something good. Otherwise, just move on.

The Surgeon doesn't really establish Detective Jane Rizzoli as the main character (and Dr. Maura Isles doesn't even enter till book 2) so it would be wrong to classify it as the book 1 of the series but it does introduce us to her world and so my logic gets flawed *wondering why I typed that*.
Instead of Rizzoli, this first book mainly centers around Dr. Catherine Cordell, an ER doctor who barely managed to survive a serial-killer (one she knew) years ago, being targeted by a new serial-killer, dubbed 'The Surgeon' who seems to be dedicating his (why does no one ever consider a female killer?) 'kills' to her. Detective Moore and Detective Rizzoli are assigned the case to catch him but things get complicated for Det. Moore when emotions and job begin to mix.

Filled with twists and turns, the book keeps the reader stuck glued to the pages until they reach the last page, feeling the emotions the author wants us to have as we read. I was certain I was going to read the next book The Apprentice when I read the epilogue and let me say it, it was PERFECT! I shivered as I read it (and reread it as I got confused at a point) as it closes the one thread that none of our three protagonists can know about.

Crystal cove (Friday Harbor #4) by Lisa Kleypas :star: :star:

I really had a hard time rating this book.

The story was well written and had some beautiful quotations but I couldn’t really connect.

I found that there were a lot of inconsistencies with Justine character as well as the story. Some serious things happen to her but after a first strong reaction they just seem to be forgotten. Same for Jason who lacked charisma, and for a clever man, did several pretty stupid things.

At the very beginning I liked their relationship but after that I couldn’t believe these two fell in love so fast.

I don’t know what is it with this series but I can’t seem to find Lisa Kleypas’s magic. In my opinion, books 2 and 3 are the best in this series so far.

Glory in Death (In Death #2) by J.D. Robb :star: :star: :star: :star:

I wasn’t supposed to read this one just now but once I finished “Naked in death” I wanted to see how Eve and Roarke relationship was evolving so I opened “Glory in death” to read the beginning and got sucked in.

Like with the previous one, the book is centered on the police investigation who is, except for the end that I found rushed, well written. Here again, I enjoyed the secondary characters (Mavis, Commander Whitney, Feeney and the new Chief).

But what really gives this series its special touch for me is Eve/Roarke relationship and in my opinion there isn’t enough of Roarke.

Charlaine Harris - Harper Connelly Series (1-4)
This is another psychic series.  The main character Harper Connelly was struck by lightning (indirectly - lightning struck the house and she was in the bathroom and I believe the electricity surged through the outlet and went through her).  She was scarred by this accident and her psychic powers started.

 :star: :star: :star: :star:

I read this a few years back and loved the whole series.  Her power has to do with dead people.  She can find the missing bodies (she has to be in the vicinity of where the body is buried) and then she can tell how they died.  She travels around the US with her step - brother (Her mom, his dad were married. Both parents were junkies and messed up their kids lives.)

Step-brother is kind of like her manager/handler. He takes care of booking jobs and her.  Both are young...early to mid 20's.

Send Bail Money, please!!

Hey Everyone,
We have a few inmates who have been rotting in jail for days now, and we really would like to bail out. If you could help to get them released it would be greatly appreciated.
Even if you can only donate $5 towards their bail, that money gets them the much closer to being let out of those cells. You'd want someone to bail you out if it were you wouldn't you??
If you want you money to be assigned to one inmate specifically you need to make note of it in your donation. Otherwise its spread between all inmates.
So, you can stop by the jail for visiting hours, bring your favourite inmate a little treat or nail file (shhh) or just go stand at the cell door and laugh at them.  :P

The Sea Sisters by Lucy Clarke:star: :star: :star: :star: :star: 5.

So I just finished reading this book, and it was just amazing. Really, just beautifully written.
Without revealing too much and sticking to the blurb, the story is about a sister who finds out about her sister's death, and travels around the world in search for answers.

It honestly just made me cry like a little girl, and by the end of it, tissues were littered all around me. My own sisters were then subjected to tearful late calls/emails, with me blabbing on about how much i love them  :D

Anywho, all around, it was a great book, and I absolutely recommend reading it!

So I only got 20% through and I was done with it. Somebody tell me if the second book
is worth spending my precious time on it caz this first book was crap to me.

Naz.a, you should totally read the second one, it was WAY better than the first one.
They were on like two opposite sides of the spectrum. It doesn't even seem like the same person wrote it.  :)
