Please be aware that we have long since finished this.  We NO LONGER ALLOW SHARING OF EBOOKS on this site.  Please do not post a book, it will be removed.  Please do not post a link.  It will be removed.

Dear members

We are in progress of migrating have migrated the site to a new name and defining defined new guidelines. One of the most important is to discontinue hosting ebooks on our website so that we are DMCA compliant.

Over next few days STP's team of Moderators will be deleting all posts from all the Boards containing books and book requests.   These have been deleted.

Please do not make any further book uploads on the site.

Thank you for your understanding.

Note: We will review the new rules when the site is fully migrated, so if you have any suggestions please let us know by contacting one of our Mods.

Wow... feels like an end of an era, right? :( I can't say I haven't expected this, since most ebook sharing websites die out with time from all the pressure from authors and publishers. It is what it is...
It's sad for people from third world countries (I come from one myself), where you can't possibly afford or find books in English, to loose places like this. Whenever I travel abroad, I end up bying my favorite books, those I read and really liked.

On a side note, I have an idea, perhaps it's usable.... There are a lot of young authors (when I say young, I don't mean their age, but their publicastion range) out there who might actually be willing to share their books with us here (shout out to JSterling). They would share their book and in return, we would rate it or something. And those who liked it can buy it (make we can even get special discounts for ST members). I think this could work, as we are a big community of avid readers. What do you think?

I totally agree with you. As an author of 3 books with more coming, I am more than happy to provide my books to readers who can't afford them/live in countries where they're unavailable/tweet me and say "hey!" I'm really not opposed to providing my book to new readers at all...it's when the copyright is infringed upon that it makes me a sad panda.

I don't ever want to lose readers, but the poster that mentioned that it takes upwards of a year to create a book is right. It's a lot of work, and it's more the principle of piracy than the money lost. If I wanted to get rich, I'd play the lottery...it's better odds, lol. :)

That being said, if you want to check out my books, tweet me up or check out my webpage. I love to meet new readers and I definitely lurked here in the forums to hear everyone's opinions. Thank you to the mods who were very quick and responsive to everyone. Best of luck in your new endeavors!

wow, I just noticed Mr.Admin has a smite.  :o
Whoever you are that did it, that's pretty pathetic, you may not agree with his decision but really you need to hide behind a button to show him your displeasure? Grow Up!

Wow, i think he/she is a fool for doing that. But Mr. Admin could always reset his!  >:D

So nice to know that still exists some understanding authors out there...
I didn't read your books yet, but I'm willing to, just because you're so nice. I'll look here in my country first, if I don't find any I'll contact you :)

Thanks.

There is a look inside of two of your books at amazon, Megan. Reading the first pages of Forbidden right now. Seems good.

Some of your fellas, the authors, could do the same and talk about other options.

I am sorry  :'( to see the discontinuation but I fully understand and support the decision that was made. I am not surprised that it has come to this, it was only a matter of time. I will miss this place as my forum for sharing.  Many thanks to the moderators for your hard work and dedication, though, must have been tough to keep this site going as long as you have and keep us in line.  ;)  I am surprised, however, by the many negative postings to this topic.  They just come across as very selfish and spoiled.

If you do start up a new site I would like to be notified.  Thanks again for everything! :-*

"Oh, you can’t help that," said the Cat, "We’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad."
"How do you know I’m mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn’t have come here.”

Cool! Some authors don't understand the predicament of other readers that look for books which are unavailable in their countries. In behalf of those who found their favorite authors through sharing, I am thanking you for your post. I would love to check out your work. And if opportunity comes or if they're available in my country, i would absolutely buy them.  :)

I am deeply sadden to see my friend of good times slowly die and become aloof bystander watching my plight. I was an addict of this site, and be it morning or night, the first thing i would do check this site, to see what's posted new. I know, I'm being selfish, and a little angry with this decision, but I also have empathy towards the moderators who had to make this tough decision. Thank you guys for all your relentless  hardwork and keeping us all socially bonded for so long. I'm sure, many will start venturing to greener pastures and your staunch followers will recede, but don't lose hope, as they say, every problem has a solution, and like various other ebook sharing forum STP will also come up with one. They won't let their followers feel disheartened for long, I have full faith in them. All the best, and will wait to hear some good news from the team soon.

It still applies to the whole site. We can still share recommendations and reviews on certain books. And not only books, this site caters as well to researchers.

so the tagline - KEEP SHARING!
