Breaking Dawn was my least favorite of the books. It was so anticlimactic. I think I've only read one story with Renesmee that I liked and she was Bella's sister not her daughter. I do love me some All Human Dadward though.

I've also been disappointed with every movie adaptation of a book that I've liked.  Do you think it's just that nothing can compare to the images that we've already formed based on the words, that it's impossible to successfully recreate a book on screen or that writer/directors just feel the need to change too many things to make it marketable?

I'm starting to think it's the first one for me...

I wish they would leave the books alone. Most of books when adapted to a movie screenplay some don't so so well; even though they bring in the big bucks I guess is from people who like to compare them and find the diferences between the movie and the book. And I'm sad to say I'm one of them 

PS I did say most adaptation not all of them there have been exception although don't remember one right now 

I think it's a little of both. With Twilight and the Hunger Games so much of the text is occurring in the characters mind. It's hard to convey that with just subtle looks and no voice over. It gets lost in the translation. With Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons my mind conjured up better images than what was created for the screen. As much as I love Tom Hanks he was not Robert Langdon.


Edit: What's funny is I don't feel the same way when it comes to classic literature. I loved the last version of Jane Eyre. Although I can't say I was a fan of the Keira Knightley Pride and Prejudice. It was still enjoyable. I usually love a period drama from the classics. One of my favorites was the Winona Ryder Little Women. I have to watch it every year around Christmas.

I'm with you on both those things - Tom Hanks was so not Robert Langdon.  Though I had less problems with the actual movies on those two stories.  It seemed they did the best they could considering the length of the stories.   Trying to squeeze it all into 2 hours or less is way too hard.  I just hate when they have the wrong person say something important.  I noticed it a lot in Twilight.  I don't know why they thought it would be okay for an important line to be said by a different character.  And I'm forgetting which ones really bothered me.   

Most of Tom Clancy's movies are annoying.  It doesn't help that I picture Harrison Ford as Jack Ryan.   

I think I will stick with the movies that run in my head while I read.  They are always perfect

Ohh I'm a huge Renesmee fan. I don't understand where the hate came from for the "demon spawn" I pegged that one in Twilight, I expected a baby because she made a point of pointing out the incubus... I just figured everyone would see it coming but I guess not. I was not a Jacob fan, I think she portrayed him as manipulative and controlling... I felt like he was a user and wrapped it up too nicely with the imprint.

Headed out of town for the weekend. Oldest son moving apartments his senior yr of college. Then one week from today, I board a plane for 8 days vacation. Working 12-14  hrs a day. I really really need it.

I am still trying my best not to be affected with what happened with robsten. I am disappointed to say i am not doing as well as I expected myself to. I love Actorward but have difficulty reading them now. I was reading Fridays at Noon when the kstew drama happened. I really liked it, reminded me of MOTU in the way these edwards were "damaged". After that, I couldn't bring myself to read an actorward, would start a few pages but then stop bec I felt sad. Yeah, a 40+ yr old should know better than to let something like this affect them. 

So went to read NFW, took the edge off what i was feeling quite a bit. It helped me "reboot" since ExB are HS virgins here. I really want to read its sequel, hope carano writes it soon.

Started Could be Worse, Right by savage. But after a few chapters when they were planning to kill off people, had to skip and just read the epilogue. Too heavy drama for me but I liked the way she wrote.

Am now reading Misapprehension of Bella Swan. LOVING IT!!! Might stick to some Athleteward, CEOward and Hs or Collegeward for the meantime until I finally "wake up" from this funk.
