Damn...I just watched the Breaking Dawn trailer for the first time (I know, I know. That's what you get for avoiding the real world for fanfic, you're out of the loop lol).

I got chills (I really did) and now I want to read something with vamps and canon.
I'm reading Out of Sight, Out of Mind by Simaril. On about chapter 5. I guess it's canon.  Good so far.   ;)

I just finished that one ;)  It's canon.  I enjoyed it :)

And OMG - read MoBS already!!  Maybe it's because I'm Canadian, too, but it's one of my all time faves.  I actually LOLed at a couple of parts.  Once while I was in the waiting room at the doctors office reading it on my phone.  I got all kinds of funny looks :D.

Right now I'm re-reading Running by Merina Green.  (It's a Jasper/Bella and IMO one of the best vamp fics going).  I think this might have been my first non-canon and I read it by accident.  I kept expecting Edward to show up.  LMAO.  I was going through a list I found on a blog of the top 100 Darker Side of Twilight Fanfics and just started reading through them.  I don't even think I knew that non-canon existed back then *snort*.  Now I'm hooked ^-^.
You held out your hand, and I took it without stopping to make sense of what I was doing. For the first time in almost a century, I felt hope.

God! How am I going to read it all?! HOW! Every time I come on here I get more recs, which I love, which I then add to my list of TBRs...which is now longer than Great Wall of China! How does everyone else do it? I'd hate to go cold turkey from this site cos I love this place (ohhhh, there's a member called that isn't there? Funny!) but honestly how else do I catch-up?! Advice welcomed  :sign0085: :17: :loudcry: :pulling

Any on top of everything else? Downton Abbey has re-started in the UK! For poos sake!

Honey, you'll never catch up!  Just accept it and be grateful that you have plenty of things to choose from no matter what you're in the mood for.  Keep adding to your list.  It will give you incentive to live longer.  Can't die yet...I still haven't read The Office or fill in with the classic story of your choosing.  Enjoy the bounty!

I had never heard of this trilogy (right?) until you mentioned them a few days ago and I'm excited to check them out. I hadn't read anything but canon and then stumbled on a Bella/Paul fic (I know, most hate wolf pairings) and I LOVED it. Sad thing is, most of the Bella/Paul fics are....I hate to say it but....pretty badly written. I've read a few that were pretty amazing but they are few and far between.

I'm def'y open to some non-canon...mostly just Bella/Jasper and Bella/Paul, though I have to be in the mood for it.

Now I'm rambling like Bella in MoBS lol. Anyhow, thank you for rec'ing these, I've added them to the big list lol

And ficfangirl is right, just keep adding to that list you've got going :)

LMAO! Join the club! Next comes the ADD of switching fics midstream, forgeting what you are reading, and mixing up your stories (wasn't Edward a doctor in the last chapter? Why is he a hockey playing highschooler in this chapter????:welcome: :banghead: :banghead: :pulling :-*

LOL.  Now, my problem is when I'm following two fics with Edward having the same vocation in both.  For example, I'm following Home Ice Advantage by hibbleton78 and A Second Chance by AWellMadeMistake and Edward is a hockey player in both of them.  Neither has a set update schedule and I always have to really think about what's already happened and what Bella does for a living so I don't mix them up in my head.  And I hope I don't end up sticking bits of MoBS or some other hockeyward from another story that I've already read into the mix.

OH GOD! I think the ADD is happening to me already I read ficfangirl's (who's name I don't know so forgive me)  post to me and thought "Hey! Wasn't I reading The Office? What happened to it?!" I started scrabbling around looking for it; I'd switched mid-story to read Let Your Light Shine and didn't even remember doing it...Is there a pill we can take Ella? :banghead:

I'm still looking.  :)

I was reading two Actorward fics where Bella was a student that had an BPOV & EPOV WIP's. Talk about confusing.  I still get Help Wanted and the Man Who Can't be Moved mixed up ;)  So confused most of the time.

Help Wanted hmmm? I think I read that; though I could be completely wrong and it was a different fic altogether the way thinks are going :)

The Man Who Can't Be Moved was one of my early reads.  I started to feel sorry for Bella.  Always seemed like she didn't get any foreplay because he was always so desperate to get inside her.  Help Wanted was fun for a while, but I haven't yet managed to read the last couple of chapters because things got so repetitive.  Mind you, I haven't flounced, I'm just taking a break.

I have never read a non-hea, not on purpose I just haven't been around Fandom long enough, but when I read this summary my heart started pounding!! I might give it a go but tell me was the writing/dialogue good enough to tackle what must be pretty heavy stuff...if not it'll just ruin it for me.

Sorry for the late reply!  I've been away from my computer all day. Let it be known that I am not rec'ing this fic in any way.  It wasn't a bad story, but after it was finished I read as many fluffy fics as possible to block it from my memory.  I don't remember the writing being bad or full of errors.  The story was just so sad.  It's one of those stories where my neighbors probably heard me yelling "Why can't you just communicate better or make better decisions!?!" while I was reading.  Angst tends to make me yell and throw things.  I think I was just drawn to the possibility that maybe Bella wasn't so special after all, but I still hoped their love would be able to withstand anything.

Thank you for that. And the one you read was by Flamingo, yes? That's the only one I could find on the old thread....I'm not sure if I'm brave enough to actually read but....Its good to know!

I tried reading HF and lost interest. I don't like the writing style  :( Shame cause the plot line seems interesting.
same here..its has very interesting plot & seems unique chracters but writing style is putting me off.I dont like when author spend almost entire chapter writing  with inner monolouge..I need real conversation between character.

this is 1 of the main reason why i didnt read  or should i say gave up reading  Crack in pavement by  VampiresHaveLaws ..Its seems very well written story but  90% story is written with bella's inner monolouge..so frustracting. :banghead:

Anything from Teambella23 like Closer, Revelry, California Waiting... I loved all these and they have some brutal heartache.

High Anxiety rocked as well. I had to stop reading and wait for it to update a few chapters before I could start again.

Dark Side of The Moon had me in tears for at least 4 chapters  :o Thank god for Kleenex, js   ;)

Yep I agree with High Anxiety..Its very angsty story.you can literally feel pain  of those chracters & knowing these people are just 16-17 yr old  kids which is  so much worst..But i didnt like High anxiety's epilogues..After Going through so much hell , they breakup , edward married to some model & bella Engaged to someoneelse.God I  wanted to strangle someone after reading  that chapter.and in other epi , everyone's death 1 by 1. very very depressing. It could have been easily in My TOp 5 fav list if i hadnt read epi.. :'(

My other fav  well weitten heart fail story is Secret and Lies by Bella scotia.

This bella is 1 of  my most fav & strongest bella i have read.Bella's heartache touched my heart. i truley felt 18 yr old bella's pain & 28 yr old  bella's conflicts. There were many moment when i didnt want her to forgive edward & there were many moment when i felt bad for edward.very few author manage to bring such emotions out of me.This story was very close to reality.Life is  not always black & white.

This kind of story are pretty amzing but writer's  skill makes it even more beautiful..I like that they dont turn everything fluffy & sunshine easily

Yeah I loved Secrets and Lies too it was really well written and is up there as one of my favourite fics, but I also loved High Anxiety, especially the epi! I cried my eyes out, loved it! Not sure if giving the plot away is the way to go though? What about all the members out there that haven't read it yet?  :57:

Wow, surprised at the ending of High Anxiety. As there are so many to read, am appreciative of all the comments here, whether or not they give the "secrets" away, so i know which ones to avoid. Here's what i've compiled so far from this thread

Non-HEA, ExB

1   The Elusive Mr. Cullen
2   Toye
3   Twice in a lifetime singer
4   Incubus anomaly
5   Jagged turns and twisted fate
6   Open up next to you
7   Eden burning
8   Tempt my tongue
9   In place no one will find
10   Amazing grace
11   What's done cannot be undone
12   The space between
13   High anxiety

Thanks again for all the heads up!

Lol i dont know about if  its right to give away secret, since we are discussing stories , WIP stories  &  rec in thread. so i dont think there is need to spiler alert  and like Booked said , it helps to  decide which story to avoid..I am more than welcome if someone give me entire plot if u ask me.
