I'm going through the anti-puberty phase of life, so I've been without the crimson wave for over 6 months (and I'm not pregnant).  6 more months and I'll be declared officially over the hump (but not the ability to hump!).

Can't decide if I'm looking forward to that or not.  I had a bit of trouble coming to terms with being 40 last year and lusting after a 26 yo didn't help matters either.

I didn't b/feed either of my girls (not for lack of trying) and I must say mine aren't too bad, usually a 16 D (don't know what that is in US).

As for "monthly visitors", I'm so not looking forward to having that arrive for my 10yo but I would say in the next year it will be a necessity  :'(

Apparently 'quote' now means 'modify to me because I realise I can't spell  :D

Re: Embed a picture into a post - the idiot's guide
« Reply #4203 on: January 02, 2013, 03:47 AM »
I never have any luck with the button at the top of the reply screen so here's what I do:
Here are the instructions to embed a pic into a post, and I've changed the subject title so it should be easy to find in a search. Thanks to RDMickey, Drypen and Laurendeplume for contributing (unknowingly!  :-*).

Ella, feel free to link in the intro box if you think it will help others.

  • Save the picture. For the screen shots, I use the snipping tool that comes with Windows 7
  • Go to You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
  • Click on Browse and locate where you saved the pic
  • Click on the Resize drop down and select either Website or Message Board (depending on what size you want)
  • Click Upload Now
  • The site will ask you to type something to make sure you're real, then click Upload Now again
  • Double click on IMG Code for Forums and Message Boards - that will select the entire code, then copy it (I just use CTRL+C)
  • Paste it where you want it

It really is very easy!

You need to click the video button for gifs, etc though.

Remember that big pictures make things crash, so width=450 or smaller. In the beginning [img] make it this instead [img width=450].

And to post a pic inside a spoiler, click the spoiler button in the reply box (at the top) then paste the link inside the spoiler brackets, without spaces.

Oh, trust me, when Jericho enters the room the walls come tumbling down.  Not really a problem.   :D :D Had less of a hard time with Jericho then when I first read about an Edward.  Dated an Edward for about a year and his sexy image kept coming into the scene. Sometimes I think SM actually met him.  :D :D  Never dated a Jericho!

So had to catch-up with four pages simply because I made the mistake of going to bed last night, lot of interesting banter about boobs and books and the wonderfulness of you ladies...but this was the one that stuck. You went out with a guy that resembles SM's Edward and he's an ex? I would not be a very happy bunny....

Another of my wips have completed..not read it so not a rec.

Peer Pressure Author: savannavansmutsmut PM
Alice helps Bella find a way to seduce Edward. It just takes an ice pack, some bad decisions, a little help from her friends, and a hot cast iron skillet for wild Edward to get tamed by Bella. Repost - new beta'd version

LOL I read a lot of m/m, if done right, it can be good. Different, but good.

My sister-in-law and I were having an email discussion about what to read. I suggested she stop being a book snob and "give ff a go". This went on for a while with me singing the praises of good ff stories and I could tell she was getting a bit uncomfortable. She wrote that she could handle m/f/m and m/m but f/f was just too much for her to read.

It was at this point that I realised that she thought ff was slash, not fanfiction!  :D

I kinda like twincest.

But not the GoT type, not brother sister, but I've read a few brother stories I've liked.

I was waiting to read Illicitus Amare by IllicitWriter because I had heard that it was a well-written and thought provoking fic. I sensed it would be one of the fics removed in the witch hunt of early 2012 and flagfic'ed it even though it wasn't finish, but then the author abandoned ed it anyway, I think because of the drama associated with the topic of consensual incest.

Anyway, somehow I stumbled across "Forbidden" by Tabitha Suzuma - a real book. You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

This was a beautifully written but absolutely heart-breaking book.

Has anyone read it? I'd love to know what you thought.

Hi Ladies! A Happy New Year to all of you! I hope you enjoy every day of 2013!

I'm just reading "Resisting the Inevitable" and I love such stories, Bella and Edward come together after some time and the rest of the story they fight together against some obstacles. I like that better than when the whole story is about getting together...

Any good stories to rec for me with this?

Ha! I hadn't read it but thanks for the rec - very funny! Although a foot job in a restaurant always reminds me of Danny DeVito in "War of the Roses".  :sign0137:

I have no boobs. None. Zilch. I've always been on the thin side and aside from when I was pregnant with my two kiddos I've never had them.

I used to HATE it, but meh. I don't care anymore. It is what it is and the only way I can change it is to get a boob job and...well...not going to happen lol. I'm actually a bit thankful that I don't have the back issues, bra problems and just general levels of discomfort that several of my good friends have because of their large, um, chest.

I never breastfed either of mine so the tiny bit I DO have don't look terrible lol.

I TRIED to watch True Blood. Tried. Even bought the first season on DVD right when it was released. I never got beyond the first episode. The main chick annoyed the $hit out of me right off the bat.

I just started this last night:

Life Is What Happens » reviews
Waking up lost in New York City is a little daunting and a lot terrifying. For rich girl Bella Swan and street wise Jasper Whitlock, a chance meeting is the beginning of a life neither of them could have expected.

SVM fan fiction recs
« Reply #4212 on: January 02, 2013, 06:55 AM »
S-hit, I go to grab a late night drink (translate: lots of drinks) with friends and I come back to 6 pages of SVM and f uck HOT Jericho Barrons talk as well as some great recs, including Summer of Salt (loved it, but I really wanted to slap E for being such a douche bag especially early on in the fic).

I read SVM fics as well, so if anyone wants to venture in this 'verse:

Jasper/Bella fans, you probably know the fic author, Zigster (wrote a great fic called Bourbon and Tea), well Zigster also wrote SVM fics mainly shipping Eric/Sookie.  I like Northman's Off Rivington by Zigster.

One night while Sookie is bar hopping with some friends on the Lower East of New York City she runs into, literally, a towering mystery of a man. AU - AH. Eric/Sookie

Here are some other completed Eric/Sookie fics that I liked:

House of Flesh on Fire by FarDareisMae2
You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
This is an AU/AH fic, inspired by some late night ficleting is that a word? over at the Sookieverse. Professor Northman teaches English at a distinguished liberal arts college. Sookie Stackhouse is an English major. Yeah, you know it's wrong.

Dead on a Football Field by Thyra10
You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
Eric is the star of the team, Sookie the new assistant coach. He hates her for being a woman in male football. She hates him for being lazy and cocky. Arrogant Bastard meets the Ice Queen. AH. AU. OOC.

Dead with the Vikings by Thyra10
You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
Sookie wakes up in a bed a 1000 years ago without knowing how she got there. The story takes place after chapter 1 in Dead in the Family. Spoilers for all books. Rated M for later chapters.

Suki59 has a few that I've liked:
You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
Sookie is the runway booker at an L.A. modeling agency. Eric Northman is a supermodel who's about to rock her world. AH, AU, OOC

You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
This interrupts Book 1 and finds Sookie discovering a dark mystery. She fears for her life and goes to Eric Northman for help.

One Thousand Words by Wonderkin
You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
A strange twist of fate brings Eric and Sookie together, but not in any way that is normal...unless you consider being in a coma normal. AH/AU. All Eric POV.

For Sookie/Alcide pairing, The Heat is in the Tools by Miss Construed is good.  A more humorous read.
You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
Susannah Stackhouse was doing well on her five year plan. Only one more goal to accomplish - marry Bill Compton. Sit back and enjoy as one Mr. Alcide Herveaux throws a kink into that plan. AU/AH no Eric . Rated M for later chapters.
I would rather cuddle then have sex.  If you're good with grammar, you'll get it.

True story:  Dated for two years and madly in love with Doug 6'4", built, blond hair, blue eyed, gorgeous man.  He broke it off.  I disappeared heartbroken from SoCal for NoCal. Dated Edward, 6'2", slim but firm, sexy brown-red-golden hair, green eyes, for a year. Surprise visitor at my door with ring in hand.  I had a choice to make and made it.  Sadly, marriage only lasted 8 years because he became literally crazy.  Bi-Polar, manic depressive and at the time that was not heard about.  He spent 5 years institutionalized and a case study to learn about the disorder.

Long story short.  I have no problem imagining Edward when I read.   :D :D :D

Is Demaris the one who said she couldn't get into CIWA?  I remember somebody saying that...     This one has me hooked from the beginning.

I was reading some reviews over at Goodreads for this fanfic and some people complained that it was too long, but I don't think that's possible!

It is long, but it's the epicness like EP that will keep holding this fic. I loved it as a WIP and I enjoy reading it again and again. I think it's just one of those fics you must read *shrugs*
