As we've said before on here you there isn't many changes from the fic to pub'd version so you're not missing out on anything.  ;D Yeah, her name is Elena which just makes think of TVD.  [emoji14]

Saw You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login and realised that most of them are so true.  :D :D
I have to admit... I don't quite fit into the "Former" Twilight fan category... Sorry, not sorry [emoji12] I'm still that 20 something girl in my head... But now I've got kids and I'm probably crazier than I was back then.

I loved the Twilight sign!

Took the quiz... Twilight Master, oh yeah! *hahahaaa...

I'm surprised they never changed the name of "perm" because the term automatically brings up negative feelings. You know, everything from general unattractiveness to blatant horror. I winced when I first read Loopy's post. I used to get a perm religiously...and pair it with that clam-like double bangs thing. UGH. Not to mention crimping lemon into it and laying out in the sun...with baby oil...in Miami. Ahhh, the days before sense.
I know what you mean. I did the afro perm once. It didn't look so good on me. So I went to the Hamill haircut  (as in Dorothy not Mark)  that lasted a long time.

But I did use a lot of lemon juice.  And hydrogen peroxide. Then sitting in the sun.  Coloring my hair is so much faster. ;)

You are so right about the perm thing. I remember when I got a perm way, way back. There are two things that I distinctly remember .......that god awful smell and the frizz..."shuttering" as I type

Oh, the smell!!! I forgot about it until you mentioned it. It was so, so bad. Gag worthy...and according to the times back then Gag me with a spoon! I remember getting quite a few of those perms in this woman's garage because it was cheaper than going to the salon. Only, you couldn't do it in such an enclosed space like the bathroom or kitchen because it stunk to high heaven. So she would open the car port door and had a chair fixed in front of the laundry basin. And then we basically masked that lingering odor with troublesome amounts of hair spray. I couldn't deal with aerosols, so I remember using something in a purple bottle with pink kangaroos on it. Aussie something or other I think. I remember that smelled good. Ah, what fond memories. *snickers*

Oh, yes, I forgot that you couldn't wash your hair for a few days after doing it and the smell lasted until you could wash it out.  I used to do them for my mom. She had that hair style for about 2 years. She liked the wash and wear aspect of it.

I think that's the primary reason we did perms...wash and go.  I had long hair, still do, and it took forever to get mine done.  The things we do to ourselves in the name of beauty.

I think I've had....four perms in my life. Two were good, two were horrible, and I decided to just go with my straight hair. It's not pin straight, but definitely not wavy, just average hair.

I've kept it short for the past few years, and one thing I really miss about long hair is the ponytail! I sleep rough, so there is no "run a brush through it and go", there is get up, shampoo and blow dry before I can leave the house. Period! So now I'm letting it grow back out a bit, see how I like it.

I remember back in school, most of my friends did the perm thing every three months. Ouch, I don't see how their hair didn't fall out!

The ponytail is my life saver. Sometimes I wonder why I bother to get my hair done because I always resort to the ole faithful ponytail.
I don't like my hair out because it gets in the way but I love long hair....yeah I know, makes no sense....

I used to be the same hun when I had longer hair, now I'm dying for the day that my hair gets to the length where I can put it back up into a ponytail without it needing a thousand (okay, that might be a slight exaggeration) clips/grips to keep it in place.  ;D

I have wavy/curly hair if I had to do my hair before I leave every day it would take FOREVER. I have short hair so it's easier for me to take a shower before bed and go to sleep with wet hair. Spray curl recover in it and go with a somewhat wild look. But that's the style I like hahaha

I got perms when i was in HS and College. There was this fad where only the top part and bangs were curled then the rest was straight...yup, exactly like a poodle!  :P. Man, the smell of the chemicals were really bad.  :-\

This is me!! What is curl recover? I think I might need it in my life! My hair is wavy/straight-ish... I typically wash it, throw a little gel, and scrunch.

I use curly sexy hair shampoo and conditioner then I use their curling creme after I towel dry my hair. Go to bed with it wet and before I go out I use their curl reactivator spray. You spray it on and scrunch and it doesn't get as crunchy as a hairspray would but holds really well. It's almost magic hahaha the frizz goes away and your pretty curls are back. These are the only products I have found where I can wait a few days without washing my hair and it doesn't look gross.

I'll have to try that. Typically, I just braid my damp hair after I spritz. Next day it's wavy and good to go.
I did read somewhere that you can brush in baby powder to keep it loose and not greasy. I think Angie Jolie actually gave that tip.

When I had my surgery last year,  I wasn't supposed to raise my arms past my shoulders for 8 weeks. Needless to say, washing my hair was mostly out. I found this great L'OrĂ©al dry shampoo on Amazon.com.  The other plus was it made my hair more manageable.  Probably because even though it didn't look it? My hair was dirty. And for me? Clean hair is totally unmanageable. I can't keep a ponytail holder in place. Pins pop out. And it is just a pain to style.  It is that awful not curly but not straight and usually frizzy hair.

And it is probably time to cut it again.  I usually cut it short about once a year and then grow it out. But for some reason I haven't cut it in about 2 years now. I like being able to throw it up in a ponytail or French braid it. But usually I'm too lazy to bother. LOL!

I tend towards greasy hair, so when my hair is long enough not to stick up in every direction but the good ones in the morning, I'll use some baby powder in mine. I have dark hair, so if you mix cocoa powder into it, it both smells good, and doesn't show up white on your hair.

My hair is to short to braid hahaha I'll have to try the baby powder trick tho.
