Lol, they must of had bladders the size of a walnut. I need to steal you hun for when I go to my daughters next as she lives about 300 miles away and the quickest I've made it there is just under 4 hours, takes helluva lot longer with the kids and hubby in the car (obviously) and I can't afford to get anymore points on my licence (until next year at least) or otherwise I'll lose it (I blame other peeps driving way too slow for all my points as I had places to be and needed them to get past them ) . I use Google loads sometimes when reading especially Images when I'm reading about cars, buildings, locations etc I don't know. Google Maps is my savour it's probably one of the most used apps on my phone as I use it all the time to check stuff.I think that's why it bugged me so much hun. I'd be like you but vice versa having never been to the Philippines I would be totally ignorant about it unless I Googled it or asked my friends who are from there. I suppose we'll just have to put up with some peeps not bothering to check facts before writing fics or books.
Urghh, I've done it again. I decided I'd try another fic even though the last one I read was awful, so I started reading You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login which was a mistake.Just another time I wish I could flounce as there are certain things about it that are starting to drive me nuts, like apparently Alice was in London but got stuck in Sheffield which is in South Yorkshire (which is nearly 170 miles away) and sometimes how Bella and Edward talks just isn't believable, I could go on but I won't. Mini rant over.

Does anyone have any recommendations for fics where Bella is a stripper or something along those lines? hahaThanks!!
The freeway that runs from SoCal north can be slow sometimes. But the speed limit is 70 mph most of the way, and the CHP pretty much ignore you if you are under 80. I've hit 100 mph once. But normally I try to keep it under 90. LOL! There's usually enough going faster that I get away with it. I checked 70 mph is about 113 kph and 90 mph is 145 kph. It sounds so much faster in kph than mph.
I hate it when authors don't research or completely mess up their time lines. I'm not a writer, but I know enough to know one should map that out before (or at least while) writing a story. I recently read a fic where Bella thinks she's pregnant at the end of the last chapter. Then in the epilogue --two years later -- their kid has sentences/paragraphs of dialogue. (And not that stupid baby talk that's sometimes used.) I was so irritated. I'm wondering if the author was male or just oblivious. I mean the child couldn't be more than fifteen months old. Actually, as a tangent, that's another peeve of mine: how children's speech is identified. Sometimes it is as if children are expected to have speech impediments until they are teenagers and in other cases toddlers somehow have MFAs in English lit. Grŕr.The most annoying distance problem that I've seen is when B or E work in Seattle and live in Forks (or Port Angeles). It is way too far for a daily commute. And since it's canon, writers should know that.
Yeah, it can be annoying when they don't do research for stuff they write. We use Waze here to navigate the side streets specially since the main roads get backed up. In the US, i notice my relatives use Google maps, a few use Waze too. I just thank who ever thought of these things as otherwise i would be stuck in worse traffic everyday. Was too stingy to buy those GPS / navigator things. But with these apps coming free on your phone, lifesaver! So, to reward myself with better material, have started to read Sebring by Kristen Ashley. She never disappoints me!
I have officially have the laziest niece in the world:She had twin girls yesterday and called them Isabelle and Isabella!! Apparently she liked both names and couldn't decide which one to pick so she chose both. I've told her that I'll be calling them Belle and Izzy, I couldn't call them Izzy and Bella as I'd be awful when they are together with my nephew Edward saying quotes and "inside" jokes that one else apart from you lot would get.
Those poor girls. But then again, especially if they are identical? They could have a lot of fun tricking people (like teachers) She really should have named one Tanya. LOL!
Please do not call them Belly!! Here's a thought, Isa is "one" in Tagalog. Maybe you can call the elder twin by that nickname. Then your niece can really be lazy so when she calls them she can just shout "Isa Belle" and both of them should answer her. You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
Just finished Transcendence. I love it! Does anyone know of any other Fics like this? Caveward? Thanks in advance!
The closest one I remember is Feral by Opal alineYou are not allowed to view links. Probably more Tarzan than Caveward LOL!
Transcendence is such a wonderful story! I recently got around to reading the published version and was quite relieved to see that “Ehd luffs Beh” remained. Gah! I just opened the file to copy/paste that sentence and am now sniffling with tears after reading Ehd's last pages. What a great book. I remember enjoying Feral. It's hard for me to read disadvantaged Edward's, but at least he was physically strong in Feral and had Bella to back him up emotionally. Reminds me of The Vampire in the Basement by michellephants, though I recall feeling a lot more emotional reading that one.The Vampire in the BasementBy: michellephants While hunting one afternoon, the boys stumble upon what appears to be a corpse. So someone was looking for a Vampward fic on Facebook and it was found. Since it looked interesting, I thought I would find it and read it. Not on FFnet. So I go to the index. Yay! It's there! Click on the link and guess who loaded to the thread. Yup, that's right. Me.
I bought Transcendence but haven't read the non-B/E version. But then, since Ehd can't speak, I'm sure it didn't change much.
Which one is it? I could use a good vampward. I was going to reread Vampire in the Basement again.I'm currently pouring through Melanie Moreland's The Contract that was recommended here recently (Loopy?) and enjoying it. I'm pretty sure I remember that she's Edward's Eternal and this was a twific as I've replaced all the significant characters easily. Regardless, I like it. It's been awhile since I've enjoyed reading something new. I've been switching between rereads and several tbr's that I haven't been able to finish. I keep losing interest and not always the fault of the writing. My YA streak was revived though by the River of Time series by Lisa T. Bergren. (If you have any interest in original fiction of an Italian American teenager time traveling to medieval Italy then start with Waterfall, and you won't regret it.)The published version is extremely close to the original, but in this case it enhanced my affection rather than annoyed me (as when I read FSoG).
