Yep - it's another of their ploys. There are a few way around it - if you use Mozilla, there is a add on that was mentioned here previously called Right2Click that allows you to copy and paste. In IE, you can still C&P, but you need to select everything on the page and copy using the keyboard (CTL+C) - that gives you everything on the page, which certainly won't be a deterrent for plagiarists!

No, you have it right, it depends on your browser, but with most browsers now, you can NOT highlight the paragraph and try to C&P anymore!

I'm thinking that a lot of people recommend the Real Life of EA Masen for daddyward.    I haven't read it yet, but I'm pretty sure that's the one where he is an author of schmexy books, right?

Yeah, Real Life of EA Masen is another great daddyward. (yes, he's the author of sexy times in that one!)

Have you read these?  I think they'd all be a nice change of pace!

Really enjoyed this and loved that this wasn't the typical famous guy meets ordinary girl story.   She never lacked confidence and I liked that.   The story was very low on angst and high on the funnies & awh factor.     The voice of tulip and her inner monologue were a bit much to take at times, but if still funny (i skimmed some of the tulip talk LOL).    Anyway, thanks for the rec!  Oh and about the plot

Sexy Silk is one of my favorite funny stories. The Real Life? Is another.  That one will have you laughing so hard.  Seriously. if you want a good laugh - read it.  Everyone here who read it loved it.  And? It's not what you are expecting.  And maybe don't read it in public because people will thing you are crazy...

Real life of EA Masen is in my top 10 too. Loooved it!
Agree with Sexy Silk, one of the ones i really liked, might be in my top 20 (though haven't gone to actually rank that far, am only up to top 11  )

I read 3 very short books last night (90-180 pages only) so am off to read Smoke & Mirrors now. It's a holiday today due to a local election. Have gone walking with hubs and my son, did my civic duty, had breakfast and it's only 9:30am. Looking forward to a day of reading

Finally got around to installing fanfiction downloader plug-in in Calibre. Successfully downloaded Suddenly by lyrical kris. It's quite slow compared to flag but beggars can't be choosers. 

Simply hate that I now have to save the URLs of the recs here, email it to myself, open my PC and download the fic using calibre. Before I just did everything on my ipad and its instantly saved. I just wish ALL the authors move to other sites already where Flag works so I don't have to do it the "long way".

On another note, finally got around to changing my avatar. It's the same pic I use everywhere else so you'll know its me. Thanks to Astro's post a few months ago. I finally found out who is on that pic by uploading the pic in google images. Apparently, its Vanessa Minnillo's photo from Maxim (she's the wife of Nick Lachey). All these months, I thought it was Alicia Keys 

just google Calibre - it's a free program.  Download & install.  Then get the ffdl plugin, download, unzip, & open my basic library (see link in the title post) install the count pages plugin & configure the plugins.

I think I forgot to mention that you should assign word & page columns using the count pages plugin.

*timidly raises hand* I have to admit that I flounced The Real Life of E A Masen. Yes, I know, I know...*hangs head in shame* It was funny and well written, but somehow it was too much childrens' stuff for me. After a couple of chapters I was bored with all the teenager/parents interaction. Maybe I was simply not in the mood...

I finished The Mortal Instruments on Saturday and really, really loved it. Fell in love a little with Jamie Campbell Bower (he's not Rob, but still) and his singing and am now waiting for book 6 and the DVD since I didn't go to the movies to see the first movie.

It was short and wonderful. And I really don't know what all the fuss was about. The author did get nasty reviews and was partially bullied because she didn't label the story with a pairing. So people could imagine anyone as the main character. Where's the problem? I don't get it. I pictured Bella in my head and never got the idea that this could be a slash story. But even then you couldn't tell. I really don't know why people have to cause soooo much drama. If they don't like it, why do they read it?

Has anybody read this? I'm not quite sure if I like it. I haven't read any spin off of Twilight for a long time now, maybe that's why I have some problems to get into it. It's well written and I think you can't ever fail with drotuno. We'll see...

I have now once again perfected my system for downloading fics and am content with it. Flagfic is appropriately replaced by storymaster or fanfictiondownloader depending if I'm at work or at home. And I satisfy my OCD with Calibre where I get all the great metadata and insert the pics from ff.net in order to have a nice cover.

Somebody here mentioned following the Reportable offense community. I thought about it too, but I don't want to be seen as follower there. So did anybody here really click on "Follow" and gets e-mails? I can't remember who said so, but the site displays 0 followers. I want to follow, but I don't want anybody to know my following....
