I have misplaced my ereader!!!!

I had it when I put my daughter to bed, and now I don't know what I did with it, I really hope I didn't put it in the laundry.

NOoooooooo!!!!!  Hope you find it.  I really sympathize.  I have a very bright green cover on mine because I have a tendency to put it down and then wonder what I did with it.  The color stands out in our house. 

My cell phone cover it hot pink - but I can call it. 

And I'm so bummed! I ALWAYS miss when 107yearoldvirgin pops in here

And though I'm not that big of a Brad Pitt fan, I do appreciate the dimples enough to want to show it again! 

He was born before I got in to Harry Potter, so I can't claim to have named him after Draco, lol.

I like HP better than SW, but don't tell hubby!

I loved the original SW but not the newer ones.  It's hard to like the guy who becomes Darth Vader.  Plus, well, you know. Harrison Ford.  What can I say.  I was a teen when it came out.

My husband loves them all. 

And we both love Harry, though the earlier ones more than the later ones.  I don't like deaths of people I like.  Even if they are 800 years old.... 

So is it bad that the only reason I'm cheering for this team is because they are called the Gamecocks?  Or the Cocks for short.  I've been told it's an angry rooster.  But having it be okay to yell "Go Cocks!"??  Yeah, so great! 

And they go so well with my other team - The Trojans! 

Isn't college football great! 

I'm from South Carolina, so when I pull for a college team, it's the Cocks. I used to have some cock stuff,, t shirts, even a Cocky rooster. Like you said, how cuold you NOT pull for the Cocks?

It sounds like a lot of you really like Calibre for downloading fics, so I thought I'd give it a try.  I've found links to setting up your library once you have Calibre installed, but the only link I found to actually downloading Calibre was at the bottom of Caro's posts.  When I clicked it, it seemed to lead me to stuff about installing a new toolbar, but I don't see the option for just downloading Calibre without changing my computer's toolbar and homepage (which I hate).  can someone help me get started with this?  Thanks.

Is Harry Potter better than Star Wars?

Harry Draco, thats a good one!  If I ever getting around to writing a fic, I think they will name their first son that, or maybe at least the dog or hamster or something.

I would pick a Star Wars name over a Harry Potter name if it had to be one or the other, but we will most likely end up with a family name, just haven't found the right one yet.  Of course, default has been Danger, so our son can say that Danger is his middle name, but we have until March.

I missed you all during the week - and had nearly 20 pages to catch up on!

I'm still reading Grasping Darkness, and I must admit, after a rocky start, I have very much enjoyed it. About 80 pages to go (out of 900 pages!) and then the sequel, which is only 152 pages.

I finally watched BD Part 2 this week and have just caught the last 20 minutes again on repeat - I wouldn't say I loved the film, but it was better than I expected, but I love how they did the "curtain call" at the end. It was nice to see all of the characters again - even both Victorias - and I just love the song:

I won't comment on any names choices for our babies - ask any teacher and they've taught a horror with your favourite name! - but I will say that I once taught a boy whose middle name was "Yoda", and another with the middle name "Anakin". I also taught a boy whose first name was "Bruce-Lee".

I think I've probably mentioned here before that well before Twilight (going back to when I was about 5 or 6 so 35 years ago!) I was going to name any daughter I had "Isabella Marie". My mother's name is Marie, and my paternal grandmother was named Maybelle, but was called Belle. I really don't like Maybelle, and even as a child, I thought that Isabella would be a pretty alternative to honour her.

It's probably a good thing that my ovaries are now turning to dust and no fertilisation is occuring!

Thank you to all of you who PMed about the bushfires here this week. They are down in New South Wales, where Mernzi lives, so I hope she is ok - I noticed in my afternoon of catching up she hasn't been posting this week either. After the floods at the start of the year, we are now in drought so there is a total fire ban in place here, and in much of the east coast. It appears that the worst of the New South Wales fires may have been accidentally started during a military training exercise.

Thanks to Caro for sharing the fics added to the Reportable Fics lists, and to Ella for the tip on getting them all on Calibre.

I saw a post on the FFnet blog that mentioned a "Profanity Filter" - perhaps the filter is also being used, although I did notice that the last batch that Caro posted all have the word "lemons" in the summary.

I just noticed something from FF, I was trying to copy a paragraph from the story so I could paste it here but I couldn't, you know what I'm taking about right? when you  press the right button from the mouse and just glide it across. Well I couldn't do it, I refreshed the page and tried a different one and nothing but then I tried the summary and that did work.


Is this a new development? I guess they are taking their no copying or downloading very seriously.  I just want to punch them in the face. 

Yep - it's another of their ploys. There are a few way around it - if you use Mozilla, there is a add on that was mentioned here previously called Right2Click that allows you to copy and paste. In IE, you can still C&P, but you need to select everything on the page and copy using the keyboard (CTL+C) - that gives you everything on the page, which certainly won't be a deterrent for plagiarists!

If someone wants to plagiarise they will.  I found that I could save a chapter by using my print to PDF function.  I would prefer not to have to do that, it’s an option if I ever get desperate.  If I ever get that desperate please just shot me for, I will be beyond help!
