Hey does anyone know if there is a way to tag or mark stories that you haven't read in Calibre?

I added a custom column with a yes/no function.

That sounds like a great idea. I added a custom column called Read? but how did you set this up to give you the option of yes or no?

Now you’re asking.  Go to change calibre behaviour under preferences, top row, third in is an icon which says “add your own columns”.  At the bottom of page is add column, click on that and it brings up another box with two lines.  Since I know nothing I typed read in on the first line and Read on the second.  I than used the down arrow to choose Yes/No.  I am sure there are better ways of doing this but that is how I did it.  Good luck.

It took me forever to learn how to comment!! I've alway used flag fic to download my fanfiction into PDF format so I can read on my Kindle app. Much to my dismay I can't do it anymore! Someone please help!! I need to know what I can use to download in PDF for my kindle app! Thanks in advance!! I will say I still want to use my kindle app, I'm not one for change! I can honestly say whoever can help I will be forever indebted to, I'm so devested flag fic is no longer working!

Hi! Sorry I wasn't around last night.  Matron is correct. If you are reading on a Kindle app you really want the mobi format.  That is Kindle's preferred format and it will allow you to adjust the size of the print, etc...  Matron also mentioned some mobile fanfiction reader apps - these actually download to your device but may not be easily transferred to another device. 

Okay, so options to Flagfic until he is able to fix the issue. If you don't want to use a computer to download stories or you don't have a computer available, these are your options.  I think they all will either download or email a story to you.  Please think about choosing mobi as your preferred format rather than PDF.

Register or Login - He is a fairly nice guy who originally set this up for friends to use.  It got bigger.  He emails the files to you or to your kindle.  They may be in zip format if you get more than one story.  His system is also very slow - so don't expect it to show up for a couple of days.

Register or Login - This is the web version of the downloadable program that I usually suggest people get if they are just starting out.  It now only works with Kindle - which should be fine for you.  If you have a computer? Download this program.  It is available in both PC and Mac formats.  It will also tell you when you need to update it.  Always update the program or it gives you empty chapters.   The webversion is faster than storymaster.  You will get it the within 10 to 15 minutes.  It's just slower than Flagfic.  This maybe my first choice though of all of these.

Register or Login - you have to log into this one.  It is the web version of the fanfiction downloader plugin for Calibre.  It is also a little slow but you will get the story in 15 to 20 minutes, as with the one just above.  These are actually based on the same program, just different versions.  This one will get more than FFnet stuff.  But I rec using Flagfic for everything but FFnet because he is just so much easier and faster. 

If you have a computer though? I really recommend downloading fanfiction downloader.  It is just easier.

Just a reminder that while you can't use Flagfic on fanfiction.net right now, you can still use it on many other fanfiction sites.  I pulled a few stories off the Twilighted website yesterday using Flagfic.  Keep in mind though that sometimes Twilighted isn't as updated as fanfiction.net.  I had windows open for each site so that I could check that the number of chapters matched, and if they did then I downloaded from Twilighted using Flagfic.  Just another option for you.

Flagfic works there too!  Same issue though as Twilighted in that they are not always as quickly updated.  Though I think they are easier to post than Twilighted.  Something about a beta process.

I'm looking for this fanfiction whose name, for the life of me, I can't seem to remember. It was a completed fic I read several years ago on FF.net. What I remember is that it was set in Forks, where Edward and Bella are in high school. Bella was being abused by Charlie, who is a cop. When Edward finds out he tries to save her but she's not eighteen and stuff. I also seem to recall that once she's 18 Edward plans on taking her and running away, probably to get married or something but Carlisle sits him down and convinces him not to make rash decisions and not to rush marriage. I also seem to remember that Charlie wasn't a complete bastard and he had certain moments of clarity where he regretted hitting Bella. Also, Charlie and Bella were in an accident while in Charlie's cop car. It's not "And then there's you". I would be so, so grateful if someone could give me the name of this fic that eludes me so.

The ladies (and maybe gentlemen) over there are amazing at finding stories.  Though sometimes it takes a while...  Good Luck.  This story sounds like a few I have on my TBR list, but I haven't actually read any of them to know specifics. 

Caro- Thank you so much for posting these!  I just highlight the post, copy, and select "Add URL's" in my Calibre plugin and it gets them all! 

And I'm always happy when I see I already have most of them.  Wait! Is that a bad thing? I like banned books or something? 

It's exactly like banned books and makes them all the more precious.
