Otherwise I'm still reading my way through Lady Gwynedd. Finished Parma High today and dived right inton Nightingale. Loving both, actually I love all of her stories. Her love for details and accurateness (is that a word?) in every fic is so great! She really does a lot of research. That's what sets a great author above the good ones.

Just found this cool plug-in for Calibre called generate cover. With this I can add saved pics to the story in Calibre. I just did it for PrincessRachel's My Mate and My Power that are on FF.net. There is a link on her ff.net. Once I had the pic, I just saved it in the appropriate file in Calibre and then add it. It was sooooo cool.

I also found People Like Us enjoyable as I did Hope Springs. She has a sequel to People Like Us (cannot remember the name) it's a WIP though.

Probably will be another year before it finishes.  I started to read People Like Us but she was slow updating - probably because her chapters were so long - and I lost interest.  Then I checked back to see where it was, and saw the BDSM stuff.  Really? not so much my thing.  It's still on my TBR list, but it moved down a bit.  I do like Actorward though. 

She does like to write long stories I think - so it may be a while before it's done...

Well, I couldn't sleep last night so I started the sequel, A Family Like Ours. My first time actively following a WIP! I hope she doesn't take too long between postings. I just didn't want to let this B&E go. I've spent the last month with them so I feel so invested in their characters and the secondary characters are all well developed too. I'm on chapter 10 and so far it is much more well written than the first story with few SPaGs. There's also been no BDSM in the second story and Edward has (I think) retired from acting and moved on to music. She does seem to write long so I'll probably leave a review in a year or something!

Lady Gwynedd (I think she now goes by Mrs. Brownloe) is one of the few writers I follow. I really liked Parma High, and she developed the feeling of what it's like living in Florida (where I grew up) so well. I loved Nightingale. She does research her historical fics well! Her stories are a cut above the rest (even if she can't knock Counselor off the pedestal I have her on).


In other news, I downloaded the fanfictiondownloader program and will attempt to install it today. Hopefully it will work, and I can start downloading fics again. I've been C&Ping, then enlarging the text to be able to read A Family Like Ours and it's definitely a PitA!

There's actually a group there you can follow, which is what I finally did, but I didn't think to do it til last night, so I still have to go through things. I have a grey silicone case around it and it's like camouflaged... I should have bought the pink case, then I would only not be able to find it in my daughter's room...

No, never read the Princess Bride, never seen the movie either, don't know if I'd find it here... They use it so much in fics, I'd love to see it...

I love to reread several books, reading them is kind of a tradition... For example I love to read some Donna Leon books during winter, because hot summer in Venice, just reading about it makes me sweat... and seeing the snow outside makes it even better, lol...
Or Winter Solstice by Rosamunde Pilcher is one of my christmas books, there happens next to nothing plotwise, but it's a fun story...
And I don't know how often I've read The Stand by Stephen King...

All you people with odd names have got me curious!

Mine is plain and boring. Dana. Nothing you can do with Dana at all. The ONE plus to my name was it was fairly uncommon where I lived, so in my whole life, I've only ever run into 2 other Dana's, one was a guy that I dated a couple of times.

Mine is fairly common for a kid from the 80's but I chose something different for my daughter (well, for my son, too but now it's more common than it was when he was born

Hmm. I think Tristan was the name of the hero in one of my old favorite historical novels.  He was a very hot pirate if I remember correctly

Yeah, Loopy and I were mentioning our discussions with out husbands about the names for our babies.  Mine wanted to name ours after a star wars character, and then kimkimkim guessed correctly that it was Lando, although his last name.  Any ways my son won't be having Calrissian as his middle name.  After reading several of the more humorous articles about the trends in naming, I am thinking Dragon (apparently fierce animals are in for males).

Um, wouldn't that be the same as Draco?  You can call him Harry Draco!
