This is the new thread as the other was sooo long and had lots of pages. Continuation of our wonderful discussions on Twilight Fanfiction, Books, and Life in general. But mostly Twilight fanfics... and life stuff that will get me a NOT ALLOWED statement.

Don't worry, I am pretty sure we all have our minds in the gutter, but hey, we aren't alone. You are in good company.

Gah, I'm feeling all discombobulated (isn't that a fabulous word??) I wrote a novel last year and have been too lazy to really send it around the publishing agents, but I've just pressed send to enter it into a contest where the prize is a publishing deal. I'm not very techno and don't know if I attached the pdf properly, I pressed browse and it was showing the title on the submission sheet, but didn't seem to look like there was a clickable file attached...Oh well, they've got my email to contact me if it didn't work.

Thank you, I don't think for one second I'll win, but at least they have guaranteed all submissions will be read, which is something.

It's in their hands now, I can do no more. My Beta and another writer friend who has seen excepts absolutely love it, so that's got to be a good sign.

Absolutely that is a great sign. If you don't win this contest, just don't give up. Keep trying. I have heard that most published authors get some rejections first.....even Stephanie Meyer's Twilight, but lets not get into Stephanie and her damn fade to black!

Thanks for that i dont really mind if hes with someone or not basically at the moment ive the urge to read vamp HEA E/B stories but with a little bit of angst in the form of possibly someone interfering in the HEA

Well, shoot. I just read a vampward where he was having sex with Tanya, but didn't consider her his gf. Bella was bit by I forget now, James? Victoria? Anyway, changed and left. The Cullens found her & managed to help her.

Don't want to say too much to ruin it. Found it - Nomad by Eibbil. I think it is still on FFnet. If not, both epub and mobi are in my Calibre library on Google. Link is below. You have to search though. The library is too big to page thru. If you click on the Google Drive logo in the top left corner, the search box opens. Search by title or author.

Oh, I know, I always think about Stephen King who threw Carrie in the bin because he'd had so many rejections. Before his wife fished it out and sent it around some more and it got picked up.

Limomx2, I almost bought the mini. I had a few gift cards & it was on sale. Unfortunately, they were out. Or maybe fortunately lol!

You can use a Kindle app. The best way to get stories is to mail them to you free account. Or you can use epubs in ibooks. Add through iTunes or email to yourself.

It will read PDFs as well, but depending on how they are made they may not be so readable on the small screen. I don't know if Calibre Companion works because everything goes through iTunes except pictures. Calibre will send to iTunes, so you can load them that way.

Aww, You're both in Maine...Bar Harbor is probably my most favorite place in the world, I would love to go back there some day.

Yeah, that flounced thread. I sometimes go there to find stuff to read. I tend to avoid angst, as for me? It is rarely written well enough where I feel something AND like the characters. The inner monologues tend to ruin it for me.

But most everyone else flounces the fluffy/funny/stupid ones, which I usually love. So thats why we are supposed to say why we flounce it.

I haven't read any of yours yet. But my TBR list is pretty huge. And I think a few are on it.

Hi Ella! Well, now that you have read one of them (and I'm glad that you enjoyed it. I'm glad that the plot was enough to help you over look the other stuff) what did you notice that needed tightening up. Was it mostly grammar and punctuation or where there other area's that I need to look at closer? Don't worry, my skins gotten a little thicker then when I started. I'm asking for advice here.

Astro, as if there were one more reason needed to be pissed at FFN! I can't believe we can't cut and paste text anymore! This sucks. You mentioned we can still Flag so I'm assuming the text in the new file is C&P-able, have you tried it? I hate that I need to flag everything now in order to read it. I only have my old Mac for reading so sometimes I like to just read online before I save a fic, but the text is too tiny and won't wrap in the window if I enlarge it. Irritating...

I couldn't get flag or calbrie to work at all... erg

Lol. Bar harbor can be fun. We take our families there when they come.. you can not visit maine and miss bar harbor... I live here so... I've seen to much of that place lol.

I couldn't get flag or calbrie to work at all... erg

I updated a work in progress story with the ffdownloader in Calibre about an hour ago and it worked fine. Has something changed since then?

I added that to my favs list because I am interested in reading it. I haven't yet, but I will be sure to give you my review when I am done.
