Thread #5 - We are crazy talkers here! Join in the fun!

ADULT DISCUSSION HERE, SO TRY TO KEEP IT CLEAN! UM NO, WAIT! IF YOU ARE EASILY OFFENDED, LOOK AWAY NOW!

This is the new thread as the other was sooo long and had lots of pages. Continuation of our wonderful discussions on Twilight Fanfiction, Books, and Life in general.  But mostly Twilight fanfics... and life stuff that will get me a NOT ALLOWED statement.

Okay, here is a place to discuss what you are reading, ask for recommendations and complain about the writing.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, so please play nice

Because we know drypen's watching

  • Hi! I'm Ellachanted and I'm a fanfic-oholic.
Happy Anniversary, Booked. Hope you had a good day together.

Wow Loopy, that's a big mess. Glad your family is okay.

Okay, maybe bad news.   I'm on the road this week and my Google drive wasn't updating. Not sure why. Probably the slow connection. So if it completes this week, I should get it okay but it may not show up in the drive until Saturday.  :P

I'll probably be lurking this week  ;)

  • I never knew daylight could be so violent.
Flag still down, what the heck! :(

Also, back to work today, two papers due on Monday and exams begin next week. I think I can officially say my holidays are over.

I'm reading Cotton Creek by rtgirl and it's all fluff. No angst, no drama--at least not so far and I'm about 3/4 done.

This just became my second ever flounce. You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login I hate giving up so close to the end. It feels like failure.

Same here. This is one of those fics I would drop everything to read the update.
And now I'm pissed that it is over. I'm not ready for it to be over. :(

Its been a while since I read it. Would you mind if I asked why you flounced?  I might have to re-read it. I can't remember much of it.<~~Nevermind I just realized your link went to the reason why.

Thanks for all the greetings! I wish you all and your respective better halves many years of blessed togetherness as well.  :)

Loopy, take care and hope all of your family stay safe!  :-*

The phone guy did mention to look into google plus though he couldn't guarantee its success. Will check it out tom. In the meantime, if my phone rings, will make sure to save to contacts as i figured the people i regularly talk to will be calling.  ;)

It's 1:20 am, running on fumes since i slept at 3 am yesterday and woke up at 6am to get ready for work. The main reason for my sleepless nights is bec i couldn't put down Wild Man. Just finished it now and it was another awesome read! 5 stars! Shutting my ipad so i don't get tempted to start Law Man, will probably be a zombie by tom if i don't catch some zzzzs...

Good night/day

lovely ladies!  :-*

Congratulations, hope you guys enjoy 19 more.
You mentioned Wild Man, an unputdownable read. I'm desperate for one of those. Can you give author and name so I can hunt it down?  Thank you

I'm still in my Kristen Ashley's Rock Chick cave - reading #5 Rock Chick Revenge  - and still loving them, although this one has made me bawl my eyes out.

I hope all of you in the US and UK are keeping safe and warm - what I'm seeing on the news here about the polar vortex is just beyond my comprehension, and the pictures Loopy posted are scary.

We've had a heat wave that was finally broken yesterday. We had good rain (our first since April) and there were more storms this morning. Today was the first day in weeks where our temps fell below 30C/86F, but with the humidity, I still turned the air con on. The rain was just wonderful though - everything is clean and fresh again! I went out this afternoon to do some gardening in the cooler weather and somehow managed to disturb a few wasps nests and am nursing stings on my arms, hands, legs and back. Luckily, they were only the little tiny wasps so it's just more uncomfortable than painful. I'll probably have to take an antihistamine before bedtime - woohoo! Drugs!

Congrats, Booked, on your 19th Anniversary. That is such an achievement nowadays. My parents will celebrate their 50th next year.

Thanks astro! My parents reached 53 years before my dad died in 2008. Was glad we had a big celebration on their 50th, that was before his alzheimer's really got bad.

Good thing you don't have a bad allergies to wasps! That could get scary if you have severe reactions. Now don't you wish lawnmower boy were still around to do that work for you? Any news about him since he moved? Or did someone hotter move in next door?  :D

Hi Eacalltheway, Matron already gave the link to Kristen ashley's books. Am now reading the 3rd book, Law Man. Another awesome read! Just love hot alpha guys that are protective of their women.  :)

So, I've not been on for a few days because:

I was having minute long contractions every 3-4 minutes Tuesday afternoon/evening and about 10 minutes after I logged out of here 5:40pm my waters broke. So we contacted our the mid-wife and she told us to contact the Coast Guard so we get to the nearest clear road for an ambulance.
As you can tell, when things I never make it easy.  :D :D The hubby even threatened to deliver bump himself - but our deal is that he's allowed to put the babies in me but he ain't taking them out.  :o :D

Anyhoo, after FINALLY getting to the hospital and being informed that I was definitely going to have bump that night, it was pretty straight forward.
And after all that she finally arrived at 12:02am on Wednesday morning weighing 5lb 2.5oz and she is 16" long.
Even though she was born 5 weeks early she is doing really well with no problems, so we were allowed home this morning. :cheer:

Okay, so by now you're probably wondering what she is named.
Dior Gatsby. :o :o

I know she's probably gonna change it when she's older but at least it's better than what I've been calling her since we found out we were having a girl - Thomas.
I know Gatsby is a strange middle name but the hubby choice it as it's in memory of my eldest brother who died last year as when I was younger he would read The Great Gatsby to me every year on my birthday up until I turned 12 (I found boys didn't have cooties at that age  :D)

I am stuck in the middle of Help Wanted due to all the lemons.  Even with skimming/skipping them I don't feel like reading cause it will just be another lemon.

I finally finished Help Wanted.  I had to go back and see when I posted about being stuck to see how long the "second half".

I skimmed a lot of lemons, and it felt like a lot of the last chunk was just filler to get to the Epilogue, but it was a decent story.  I think I need to stay away from super long stories, the page count on my reader was 1243.  Now to find something shorter to read next.
