  • Hi! I'm Ellachanted and I'm a fanfic-oholic.
Thread #7 - We are crazy talkers here! Join in the fun!

ADULT DISCUSSION HERE, SO TRY TO KEEP IT CLEAN! UM NO, WAIT! IF YOU ARE EASILY OFFENDED, LOOK AWAY NOW!

This is the new thread as the other was sooo long and had lots of pages. Continuation of our wonderful discussions on Twilight Fanfiction, Books, and Life in general.  But mostly Twilight fanfics... and life stuff that will get me a NOT ALLOWED statement.

Okay, here is a place to discuss what you are reading, ask for recommendations and complain about the writing.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, so please play nice

Because we know drypen's watching

THIS!!! Those sweet, hot and cute small gestures is exactly why I love christian. Can i pretty please ask you, only when you have the time, to add a gif of that "crawl to bite toast" to my sig?  :-*

Yeah, am a sap and those moments are what makes stories and characters memorable to me. I was glad that they added that toast bite as some of the sweet gestures of Christian in the book were not really highlighted. Like the giving of the ipad with a playlist and books Christian loaded for her. the movie just showed he gave her a laptop. Can't recall for sure but i think the movie didn't show the part he went back to her apartment to spend the night with her to show she was important when he had just left her a few hours before after having s e x  with her. *le sigh* i could get off with those sweet gestures more than the s e x...seriously  :D :D :D

Yep. You're a sap....[emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] I've realised since reading you ladies going on and on about FSOG that my CRS has now reached critical status....I can't remember ANY of that [emoji90]! Actually. Wait. I do remember the iPad and the laptop buying etc because that was the part when I shouted, 'thief!' at my iPad. 'Plagiariser!' didn't have the same ring to it....

Welcome back!

The pressure is killing me trying to remember what happened  :-\

So will cheat a little and direct you to this recent summary i gave when RD returned to the thread early this year  :)

You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

Since that post...

Those who have watched FSoG were pleasantly surprised it was not that bad  :) I rec you watch it specially if you read the book or MotU.

Loopy is Mrs. Dornan but she is gracious enough for us to ogle her man. As you can see, she had a birthday recently so along with Rob and Fassbender we have a good amount of Jamie Dornan pictures here. Do watch The Fall tv series as Dornan was great (and hot) as a serial killer. Showed his acting chops here, way better than in FSoG.

Not to be outdone is the other "Jamie" from Outlander. Those who've read it love the series though are tortured by the bad things that keep happening to the lead characters. It was touch and go whether they could continue on to the next book but their love for the characters made them persevere. It helped that the TV series is out and heightened their appreciation of the story and all things Scottish  ;)

As usual, we inevitably talk about boobs, peens and guys...the trifecta of all things hot and holy in this thread  :D :D

 :-*

Glad to know nothing much has changed and everyone is well!

Time differences strike again though! Everyone is asleep when I am awake, darn being on the other side of the world! Haha.

I have to go back and see if I can catch up on all that's been going on, but yeah I read all 8 Outlander books ( plus 3 Lord John) in around 30 days or so, but I will caveat that by saying I was on holiday at the time...I actually started re-reading Outlander on the flight back to the UK, just because. Ever so often I need a shot in the arm of Outlandish.

 all 8?
8?
8?
8?
8?

Thats like a MILLION pages !

Took me 30 days to get through DIA !!! Of course, putting it down 5 times didn't help.

I still haven't watched the series. Just now, first time with this video. HIS VOICE!!!
I would read all 8 books over and over if he was narrating it

You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
seriously! He should narrate!

He could sit and read me a phone book and I would be happy to be under his spell.

DD, I know you don't want any spoilers and there are several spoiler ones from Starz that is him narrating, but this one really gives nothing away. It's a 1.5 min and AALLLLLLLLLLLLLL his voice.

If you will watch only one....let it be this one.

Well, you ladies have me convinced. I went out and got myself the Outlander series (and another couple I was after while I was at it). So I've added them to my queue and I shall see how long they take me to get through. When I really sit down and read I can do a book in a day, depending on how dense it is of course, but I don't have much time for any reading that isn't Uni related at the moment. I have 1600+ pages of reading a week for Uni and URGH, some of it is sooooo horrifically boring I just might stab my eyes out with a pencil! But I do read during my lunch break and pretty much any other second I get to myself, thank the lord for my e-reader!

I did Outlander backwards, but following the same footsteps as Twilight. Watched the show, now I am reading. Up to Book 4.
And if you can read one of the Outlander books in a day, you need to tell me how. On my ipad, Book 3 was 2262 pages! But I have to say, I cannot skim, I absorb every word.

Okay, so 2200 pages on an e-reader would probably take me 2 or 3 days, depending on how engrossed I got. I once read from 8am till like midnight without stopping for any breaks, book pretty much consumed my mind. Then I stood up and passed out cause my blood sugar was so low...haha.

I did. Looking forward to reading them. They sound like the kind of books I would just plough right through, I don't like cliffies. But then again, I have learnt how to set a book aside and read something else if I'm not in the mood for angsty or depressing books.

Yeah, it sounded crazy to me too when you put it like that so I went and checked my Goodreads as it give me the date of completion....It's actually worse. I started Outlander on the 14th of August and finished MOBY on the 3rd September.....so 3 weeks.

Will someone upload a decent link already!!! My normal viewing channel has seriously let me down this time. Though it says something that all the Oscar films are up and this one is not; though quite what it says I'm not sure....

For a supposed 21 year old Dakota is carrying some serious luggage under her eyes...

I actually found the gif for that "crawl" earlier (it's not great but it's the best one I could find) but forgot to post it as my sig. Your lucky I love ya hun as we're now sig twins and I'm sharing my baby with you.  :P :P

Thank you!!!!!!!!!  :-* :-*

Swoon worthy indeed!!! here, we call those moments as "kilig". That one word encapsulates the need to squeal, giggle, shiver, shudder and swoon.  :)

Got tired of reading books about bikers, billionaires and rock stars  so i decided  to read a twific. Was going to read Married to the Enemy but the 3,300 plus pages was a turn off. :( Am now halfway through Girl Code by Layathomemom and am liking this HS fic very much. For a change, am reading something recently written so references  to social media had me amused....and scared for my own 16 year old daughter.  ;D :P

thanks for putting this in my radar, demaris!
For the billionth time, thank you Ella for your wondrous google drive!!

How many books in the box set and how much was it? Just curious....I don't think you can separate a box set in Calibre if it was formatted that way from the publisher but I might be wrong...
