Okay, here is a place to discuss what you are reading, ask for recommendations and complain about the writing.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, so please play nice

Because we know drypen's watching

Lol, I know what you mean, I accidentally called the hubby a random's name on our first time which went down like a ton of bricks.  ^-^ :P
It couldn't of hurt his feelings that much as he's still around.  :D :DIt carries on after that point in EP as there's a NM moment, I wanted to kill Edward/Carmine at this point
Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.

I've been meaning to read Made as I bought it ages ago but still not got around to it, I hear it's worth a read and really good for a (kind of) spin-off book.  :)
I just got to the NM part of Sempre Redemption.  Damn him!      Let me know if you read Made.  She is such a good writer, I bet its great!

I bought Sempre when it was on sale. Still haven't read it.
...
You know, when I think of it?  Has Rob ever done a movie where he had loud sex?  He comes across as the quiet type.  ??? :NeenerNeener: :D
You really should read Sempre! You like mob/crime type stuff, right?

LOL Now I'm thinking I haven't seen near enough Rob movies.   I've only seen Twilight, HP and Remember Me.      What is that Dali movie you're talking about?

Was Bel Ami good?

I'm rereading Sempre by Darhower and I totally forgot how awesome this book is!    It's even better this time because the published version doesn't have the fade to black in several places.     I haven't read Emancipation Proclamation so I don't know what happens after
Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.
.   I think EP continues on past that point, right?   As soon as I finish this first book I'm going to read Sempre Redemption so I can finally know the whole story.

Have any of you read the prequel called Made?  It's about Corrado I think.

It's actually longer that Sempre and seems like people really like it.   I'm wondering if I should read it or not.

Been on my TBR forever!!! I read EP, so probably why it's always getting bumped.

There were outtakes of Carlisle (I'm guessing Corrado in the book) which I really loved! And Alec ... If I remember correctly...

When we were first dating, I called my hubby by my ex's name... But we were in a huge fight, about my ex, and yeah... That fuel made that argument lots of fun! *Hahahaa...

Hope you are having a great time there.  I've been to Orlando for work a few times but never made it over to the theme parks. Just not fun to do it on my own I guess.  I forgot they added HP though. ;D

I'm not really into Mobward. I've never seen The Godfather or The Sopranos. I tried to read EP and got bored after about 100 pages. I'm more the cop/detective /catch the bad guys and shoot them stick them in jail type

Though a bad-boy Vampward? Yeah, I might make an exception.   :D :D :D :D

Bel Ami was okay I guess. Not really my type of movie. I like romantic comedy and action-thrillers normally.  Though really?  Most of the time, I can't stay focused on the entire movie without breaks.  So I'm am not usually the person to ask.

I'm gonna start her new book The Mad Tatter (which she released as a b'day surprise y'day) later, I really enjoy her writing. So I'll probably start (hopefully) made at the weekend.
When it got to that part I (kind of) understood why he did it but I still wanted to pistol-whip the dude.  :D :D

Corrado is Alec, who I loved in both the book and fic as he was a man of few words but he was still likeable.

The ex is one of the few names I've never said/called out by accident probably cos up until a few years ago we would see him every w/end when he was picking up my daughter.

Keypad - Little Ashes is the movie about painter Salvador Dali.  Rob plays Dali who was gay.   I've never seen it but I've heard enough about it.  Strange movie - Dali was a very tortured individual.   There's a couple of interesting scenes - suggestive but you don't actually see anything - one of him swimming naked underwater but from what I heard on Twilighted, you can try and drive yourself crazy going slow motion on the scene but you can't really see anything - someone on this thread must have seen it who would know better.  I think it was filmed in Spain?  Rob used to tell the story about the girl who stalked him who was always outside his apt. waiting for him to come out.  He finally accepted her invitation to dinner (at her family's restaurant) - he spent the whole meal complaining about how bored he was and lonely, etc. and she left and stuck him with the bill and he never saw her again.

Limomx2 - wherever you are - I don't like you much right now - thanks to your answer to the person on the 152 fics thread, I just bookmarked a whole page of fics (Cullens reading the books) over on ff.net.   God only knows when I'll get to them.

I'm not really into Mobward. I've never seen The Godfather or The Sopranos. I tried to read EP and got bored after about 100 pages.

100 pages of EP?  That's only the first chapter!  I've "read" EP.  That means I skimmed the entire thing since it was so freaking long and repetitive.

It depends on your tolerance levels and how much time you want to give to it.  It's a good story and some on here LOVE it.

I only read maaaybe not quite half of EP. Edward and Bella were just getting together when I left off. It was good, just LOOONG. Is Sempre cut down enough to not feel bogged down?

Also, I'm NOT too big on Mobward stories, or just mobster heroes in general, unless he gets out at the end. I can't remember if Edward gets out at the end of EP or is still in the life, I never got that far, but I know someone's told me before.

So I get the feeling I should move it down my TBR list?

EP is in my top ten.  :) It was the 105th fanfic of the 313 i've read so far. So you can just imagine  how long my TBR list considering i have over 1,000 on my ipad, and still growing  ;D

The length of EP was daunting but it was worth it. As it shows diff POVs of the same scenes, you can skip some. I like her writing and read all the outtakes as well (10 but i counted these as just 1).  :) Am not into mobwards and angst myself but again, i loved the story and writing. However, i will likely  not be reading Sempre anytime soon, though i also have it.

If you have the time now, suggest you start it right away, maybe the pub'd version might be shorter  :)

Well, my hubs and daughter have had a nice 1 hr nap. Time to wake them up so we can go back to the park, ride the Hulk Coaster and Doom's fearfall then spend the last hour walking around Hogsmeade.  :)

Catch you guys later!  :-*
