Such a lovely picture! Am currently enjoying a cup of coffee outside my cousin's house, reading the posts here and basking in the wonderful 15 degree weather. I wish i could bring home this weather. Some eye openers during this trip:1. Some white people are really white. It's fascinating to see so many skin colors! And listening to the various languages and accents. 2. Cleavage...man, i could turn gay looking at the bountiful mounds on constant display here. I have Boob envy! My A cups want to deflate even more seeing all C and Ds left and right. And man, at theme parks, they are out in all their glory. I can't help but stare! 3. They wear really short shorts here, specially at theme parks. Again, logical since they want to stay cool. There i was in my full jeans attire. Think more than my birthday button and park employees greeting me happy bday at every turn, people are looking at me at my attire: that's one crazy asian wearing jeans. My legs have scars from my allergies a few years ago so I don't wear shorts or skirts anymore. Still, am comfortable with being fully covered, the weather is so nice we didn't sweat at the parks. But hey, am not one of those stupid ones wearing party dresses and high heels while on tour or at the park 4. No matter how good looking a guy is, if he is hairy, i just cringe. When i saw this cute guy in line in front of us, i was nudging my daughter to appreciate the view. But then he turned around and the curly hairs on his back were fighting to come out of his tank top...just ewww. Must hurt like a b*tch if he had that removed.5. Bootylicious is indeed a term that can be used often here. Again, i could turn gay...i wanted to slap their asses just to see how bouncy and firm they are...just didn't want to get arrested and ask for bail money from you guys. 6. Tattoos are fascinating. So many people have them here. Another thing my eyes can't seem to stop staring at. Can't believe 2 weeks have gone by and i only have 1 week left here. My hubs and I are dreading going back to reality
I just read my review of book 4 and I said that there was not near enough Patch in it. LOLGabriels Inferno was the same way for me. It was nicely wrapped up in the first two books and I loved them but the third book was just blah.
definitely leave with 2. Second one is really good btw. What about book 3 of the beauty from pain series? I read the first two and loved them. Wondering if I should bother with 3 as I think 2 ended nicely.
DLMG is so good so far! I'm at 65% but have to stop reading because of real life responsibilities. Boo. Hiss.
So I got stuck on a Married in Vegas kick and am slogging through Hitched by Nollie Marie. It seems to be one of her first fanfics. Parts are good. But she does all the bad, annoying things - AN's in the middle of sentences, bad grammar and spelling, etc... But what really makes me laugh is it is so obvious she has never been to NYC. And she doesn't understand being rich. Edward's family owns a pharmaceutical company. Yet he and Bella eat at Olive Garden and McDonald's. They use McDonald's drive thru all the time. I've been to NYC and never have I seen a drive thru. And they drive everywhere. Who drives in NYC? Oh, and my favorite! They went grocery shopping at Walmart. Because you can find Walmart in every big city (not). Sigh. Doesn't she watch any TV whatsoever? Thanks for letting me get that out of my system. There really aren't very many good and complete married in Vegas stories.
I think A/N's is the most annoying thing in a fic, way worse than bad SPaG as you're reading and then all of a sudden there's a note in the middle of a sentence/paragraph saying something like: for picture of dress/tattoo etc is on my profile.

I remember reading Hitched ages ago, it has a sequel that I've never got around to reading as like you said hun Hitched is just not good enough to care about what happens afterwards. It's really startling in some of the early works of better writers. For instance, clpsuperstar did that kind of c.r.a.p. in Send Me an Angel, although she obviously knew better by the time she wrote Million Dollar Baby. I read Million Dollar Baby and recently read Send Me an Angel. I got to the first A/N stuck in the middle of paragraph wanted to slap her. That is never cool!
I can usually ignore a "pic on profile" AN in the middle of a sentence, it is annoying but not as bad as when they stick other random ANs there like "I just had to do it" in reference to using some twilightism or putting their own biographical notes in the middle, or defining terms but in some case doing it wrongly. But it is fanfiction and it is free, and I have not written anything, so I shouldn't complain too too much, just a little.
I'll add that to my list of "if I ever become a competent writer that's a category I'll fill." Honestly, there are several categories that, as old as the fandom is, I feel have not had good or even many fics about them. And as far as A/N's go, unless there's some pressing question that everyone as asking about or an important point of clarification, I even known not to do that.
This is why I complain here rather than in a review. I really try not to write negative reviews.
I got an iPad mini!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Now what!?! *ahahah.. How do I get my calibre to recognize it?? I need more books ASAP!
This seems obvious, but there's such a thing as negative to be mean as opposed to giving constructive cricism, thoug hI realize sometimes a writer's skill just doesn't cut it, no matter the plot. I know there are several that I've read that I thought could do much better with what I feel are minor adjustments. On the subject of writing public criticism, not too lnog ago, there was a whole dustup about people naming authors/fics publicly on Facebook that they didn't like. I personally don't see that big a deal about it because the discussion was still civil. Nevertheless, a shitstorm still occured. I suppose though that it was because the topic was initiated by a veteran author.
Anyone here watching Dancing With the Stars? Derek Hough is injured.....You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
I actually get epubs from my Google drive and then open them in iBooks. There is a way to do it with iTunes but it means updating iTunes and the drm removal software only works to version 10.5.3.
On the subject of an iPad, not quite a tablet person (phone or Kindle for me), but if I do get a tablet, an iPad is at the top of the list so I'll keep that stuff in mind.
Ummm... Huh?? [emoji12]
