  • Hi! I'm Ellachanted and I'm a fanfic-oholic.
Thread #7 - We are crazy talkers here! Join in the fun!

ADULT DISCUSSION HERE, SO TRY TO KEEP IT CLEAN! UM NO, WAIT! IF YOU ARE EASILY OFFENDED, LOOK AWAY NOW!

This is the new thread as the other was sooo long and had lots of pages. Continuation of our wonderful discussions on Twilight Fanfiction, Books, and Life in general.  But mostly Twilight fanfics... and life stuff that will get me a NOT ALLOWED statement.

Okay, here is a place to discuss what you are reading, ask for recommendations and complain about the writing.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, so please play nice

Because we know drypen's watching

This author did some bullying.

There's another one that actually stalker one reviewer, went to her house and wrote an article about it.
Apparently she pretended to be someone else while reviewing. The author called her work, home, stalked the woman on Twitter and Facebook.

Or maybe it is this author? I have to find the discussion on ADF to be sure.

Ugh, Mcguire and Jessica Park are Mean Girl bullies. They have a habit of tag teaming each other's negative reviews, and siccing their fans on reviewers. And Mcguire was all over the place, complaining about people calling Beautiful Disaster YA, until it got nominated for best YA on GR, then she's all "vote for BD, best YA!". Blech, I haven't read a word of hers, since. She was also all gleeful awhile back when the Dear Author blog got sued by the idiot who runs Ellora's Cave.

Lately, every time you turn around, it's another author going batcrap crazy on readers in some way. Calling readers, calling their jobs, showing up at their HOMES, and all over reviews! Even this week, there's been another one issuing death threats to a couple of reviewers. Oh, and that British guy that went all the way to Scotland and HIT A REVIEWER OVER THE HEAD WITH A WINE BOTTLE! Authors are freaking NUTS these days.

When Jessica and Jamie McGuire together they are the quintessential mean girls.

I know we've discussed them and their habits before and you'd think that after a while they'd actually calm down and just get on with more important things considering Jamie actually has a publishing contract now (and BD is being made into a film) she wouldn't take the time to be mean to the people that have read her books but that hasn't stopped her.  :banghead: :banghead:

I was reading a few things online that she posted after her daughter released her book last year and it was pure evil as some of the comments were quite justified as people were questioning how a 14 year old managed to get a publishing contract so easily and with the same company her mother's with.
Jamie went into full on troll mode.  :o ::) ::)

Jessica comes across as a (lack of a better word) nightmare and she's 100 times worse when she teams up with the likes of Jamie and a few other authors out there.

I've actually bought and read books by the pair of them and they weren't that bad, I just don't like the women that wrote them though.  :( >:(

I flounced that and stopped following her fics. They were bad
I really enjoyed her Curve Ball and the sequel Grand Slam. So I thought it was safe to read. Her ideas aren't bad but this is more Lucy and Three Stooges type comedy which I normally don't find overly funny.  However, there where a few laugh out loud moments.  ;)

You'll have a swoony quote like that somewhere in the 800 boring pages. I got through Outlander (book 1) ok.  Dragonfly in Amber (book 2) I prob had 150 more pages to go out of 900. My first ever DNF.

Then when I heard Book 3 was no better than Book 2, I stopped the torture.  Now I will just watch on the screen. I prefer to listen to Sam/Jamie talk anyway.  *fans self*

Maybe one day I can try again.....but not for quite awhile.

I lack the flounce gene... soooooooo...

OK I do think its only fair that I jump in here and say...'To each his own'! DD and RDM struggled with the books but there have been 25 million books sold, the fact that it's now a TV series would point to most of the buyers having enjoyed them  :)....The only thing to do, OBL, is to download, read and see...You're an AngstHoor so I think you're more than likely join the majority. I've read Voyager three times and DIA twice...and that's taking into account that I only finished reading all 8 book in late August 2014  :P As we said yesterday we all have different tastes...

Well, I've been sucked into a very badly written crazy story by Staceleo. In her favor,  she recognizes she needs a beta and that grammar is not really her thing.  But really, it's supposed to be funny but it's more like a train wreck that I can't look away from.  They are all whackadoodles. Except maybe Bella, who owns a bakery.  Alice has horrible taste in clothes. Esme practically kills people with her cooking. And Edward wants to take over the town.

I actually read one of her posts I think. Someone must of given her the username of the PTS member who shared her book and she came on and had a rant at them, in fact, if I remember right, she had a rant against PTS in general.....the PTS member then came on and was really angry about the fact that someone 'outed' her....I won't mind so much if she was even half as talented as she thinks she is; her book ( BD) was KaKa, sorry. I'd give her a bad review in the hope that she'd starts with me, unfortunately I read it long before I joined GR so I haven't......As my mum would say, 'the devil knows who to frighten'

I was on it last night.  Probably server problems or some other technical issue.  Something similar happened to ADF last year maybe?

It was because of her and her minions that Mr A started the Authors Opt-list which still didn't satisfy them as they started "recruiting" more people to their "cause".  >:( >:(

Yeah that was it! I remember her launching a planned campaign against this poor girl...Twitter, Facebook and calling all of PTS all kinds of names for violation of her copyright. Honestly, get over yourself! Silly Bint. :o

Twilighted is just down for repairs.  It took them long enough.  Lostluggage/solostintwilight tried to post a chapter to her Robert fic and anyone who was on the notify list for when it updated kept getting notices because the chapter kept reloading and the date it posted kept changing.  She notified Content1 who tried to fix the problem and it evidently  didn't work.  The chapter disappeared - I don't know if she took it down and then reposted it but it was back on this morning.  In addition - the formatting for the fan fiction index and the forum index was all screwed up.  I did notice that head admin psymom's name appeared on the board - I'm assuming to check things out - haven't seen her on in ages.   There were probably other problems as well but those are the ones I'm familiar with.  I doubt the site is gone because they just added 4 new fics on the fanfic section yesterday.
