Wow....busy day here. The authors that you discussed that are mean...I actually have not read any of their work ...Published or unpublished. WOW. Hard to believe some people. If I had the talent to write, I would just be appreciative if it were 1. published. 2. anyone purchased. Just like the past few days have proven and we did it without being ugly.....there are all sorts of stories (published or unpublished) and many genre. Not everyone is going to like the same thing. Act mature....learn from it....move on. Opinions are like assholes....everyone has one.

Some grow up. I learned the past year nothing is for granted and anyone can leave you in just a second. Life is too short to spend it arguing. It actually gets you no where but pissed off.We will be in mid discussion and then.... Bam..... Condoms appear and all is well. Lol
These newer authors need to go look at the reviews of established, best selling authors, like JK Rowling and Stephen King. EVERYONE has bad reviews. EVERYONE. No book is going to be beloved by everyone.Next, they need to google internet meltdowns against reviewers by these same authors. Chances are, they won't find many. I can think of a couple (Anne Rice, Kiera Cass, Emily Griffin to name a few), but on the whole, your Stephen Kings and JK Rowlings and your Nora Roberts leave the reviews to reviewers. As long as their books sell, they don't give a shit.

I remember my late Godfather telling my parents when I was younger about some of the bad reviews he got for some of his work, but he kept quite and just got on with it cos he loved writing and he had the last laugh at the end of the day as some of his books were made into a TV series, plays and film. The royalties kept him my Aunt Di (his wife) used to a "comfortable" living style. So if some of these authors just got their act together they could be stretching some of their "potential" a lot further than they are doing so by sitting behind a computer screen and slagging anyone and everyone off. When you remember to use them they are.
Imagine if these particular authors spent the time they spend complaining about their reviews on refining their craft! I bet that would be MUCH better for their sales, than trying to silence or shame reviewers!
What? I was just here this morning and now I'm on page 9 of 39 for this thread. That 30 pages is the biggest jump I've ever seen. Can't wait to read through when I'm off Tapatalk and see what I've missed.
This! Half of them can't really write and have horrible grammar and spelling. Acceptable when free but totally unacceptable when I pay for it.
Hey, even when it's free, that's time you're never going to get back! My time is just as valuable, and if possible, I try to save other readers from wasting theirs.
Lol, that's why I put my Tapatalk page count up as I was popping onto the old thread way too often and it would appear that I was about 15 pages or so behind when I was only really 3 or 4 behind.
OK I do think its only fair that I jump in here and say...'To each his own'! DD and RDM struggled with the books but there have been 25 million books sold, the fact that it's now a TV series would point to most of the buyers having enjoyed them ....The only thing to do, OBL, is to download, read and see...You're an AngstHoor so I think you're more than likely join the majority. I've read Voyager three times and DIA twice...and that's taking into account that I only finished reading all 8 book in late August 2014 As we said yesterday we all have different tastes...
