LOL! The guy in the background looks like he is at a Star Trek convention, not a Twilight get together

The kid does look a lot like Seth before he became a shapeshifter.  ;)

Robert Pattinson’s The Childhood Of A Leader Wins Best Debut And Best Director At Venice Film Festival

By Shari Weiss | 2:11 pm, September 12th, 2015

The Childhood Of A Leader, starring Robert Pattinson, won Best Debut at the Venice Film Festival on Sunday, in addition to Best Director.

Director Brady Corbet was on hand to accept the honors. The filmmaker was pleasantly shocked to be receiving the distinctions for his first feature film. The movie premiered in-competition at Venice exactly one week ago.

The Childhood Of A Leader is about the childhood of a future Fascist leader during World War I. In addition to Pattinson, who gets top billing, Bérénice Bejo also stars. Production took place earlier this year, with a quick turn-around time to have it ready for the Venice Film Festival. The film does not yet have a release date for theaters.

As Gossip Cop reported, Pattinson was unfortunately unable to attend the world premiere last Saturday, despite previously planning to go. The New York Post false claimed the actor backed out because ex-girlfriend Kristen Stewart would also be in Venice for the world premiere of Equals. Gossip Cop exclusively busted the report, as Pattinson’s absence had absolutely nothing to do with Stewart.

Pattinson has been in Belfast filming The Lost World Of Z, a commitment that also forced him to miss the Deauville American Film Festival, where he was to be given an achievement award. TELL US: What do you think of Corbet and Pattinson’s collaboration earning the director two awards at the Venice Film Festival?

I thought the very same thing as soon as I saw his pic.
Who would believe that 8 (?) years later Twilight would still be a big draw.

I read Getting Blitzed and liked it. I actually cried for most of the first half....I was so shocked that I was so emotional. I just love that cat...can't remember his name...this crs crap is killing me.

I know. It kind of shocks me.  But then there are a new crop of kids that are now grown up enough to read it ...and drag their moms into it I guess.

I think the fanfiction wave is wearing down though.  I look at how many stories complete in a week.  It used to be around 80. Now it's in the mid 30's. And most are the not so great ones.  Though maybe they are on Fictionpad,  because TWCS is about the same as ffnet.

Rainbow is great. Really loved her chapters. An epilogue came out today, so you might want to read that if you didn't read it online.  Nolebucgrl writes really well. A nice mix of funny and sad. She said the next story will be different though. Not a Quarterbackward or an Actorward.  And she updates every Sunday normally.  So I like reading her WIPs.  ;D

I'm with you on the cult following for her stuff. I don't quite get it.  Maybe someone who likes her stories can explain it?  ???

I admit that after the first lemon? I mostly skip the rest in most stories and books.  But she is one of those "writers" that thinks throwing a bunch of lemons together constitutes a story. Which is does if you read erotica.  But not normal fiction or romance.

Erotica has it's place. I enjoy the OS's.   But I mostly avoid excessive lemons. To me, it usually doesn't add anything to the story.  But then I also realize that other do like that type of story.  Just like not everyone like the stuff I like.  ;D

Ummm, i like reading her stuff when i am in the mood for
a) alpha males
b) hot s e x
c) quick short read to "cleanse the palate" after my serial readings

Her writing is not for everyone, in the same manner, counsellor's style is not for me. To each his own really.
If I wasn't able to get her works for free from a friend, no way in hell will i cough up money to pay for her work. I am willing to overlook all her grammar problems bec I don't pay for it and most of what i read was such a short read. Agree, i tend to skip some  of the love scenes when it gets to be too much (and does it always have to be 11 inches or longer  :-\)
I guess it also helps that I don't know any of the drama surrounding authors.

What she does: pulling unfinished work, blaming readers for her grammar problems etc is quite a jerk move. But F*ck that noise  ;D  I don't read WIPs nor do i buy her work so i just don't mind the noise and enjoy what i can.

Nolebucgrl, is another story. Definitely love her writing and will buy her published work to support her. Am half way through Getting Blitzed and truly adore their dynamics.

That's so true of Silver B....I was skimming thru one of her reads and this one was 12 inches long and 5 around. Is she for real??? I'm with you sister, I would not buy her books. She is so famous for pulling her fics and then forgets to change the names haif the time when she publishes.
Anyone reading anything good right now? I'm in the mood for maybe a y/a. I think I'm going to give Yhe governess a try, I just hate to because it's a wip.

Thank you Ella, Rainbow (how could I forget) is hilarious.

So is Rob engaged or what? What's the latest twist in that relationship.

Yeah, forgot about the circumference  :P unbelievable.... That's truly fiction at its finest  ;D :D

Except for Man Behind the Mask and Getting Blitzed, haven't read much fanfic recently. But if you are interested in pubd books, i really enjoyed the Off Campus series of Elle Kennedy. The first book, The Deall, was better than the second one, The Mistake.  :) If you're on goodreads, you can see the ratings (and a few reviews) i gave to the books i've been reading. Like Ella, i like HEA and humor.  :)

eacalltheway - regarding your question on whether Rob is still engaged:  your guess is as good as mine.  He's in Ireland filming and she's in LA doing whatever?

That looks gorgeous hun, I bet it felt relaxing being in a place like that.  :)

If I go AWOL anytime soon, it's my daughters fault I took her to You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login (Banksy's take on Disneyland) today for her birthday and it absolutley poured down which resulted in us having to buy a complete set (even underwear) of new clothes each as we got soaked, but we had a great time. It was so twisted and depressing it was brilliant, that and we love Banksy so it was right up our street.

I'm sure most of us have read this interview Rob gave in You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login, but he is so endearing in it even more than usual and his comment about Avocados not being beard friendly really made me laugh (and think some naughty things  :P).  :)

  • Hi! I'm Ellachanted and I'm a fanfic-oholic.
Thanks for the link Loopy. I hadn't read The Guardian article.

Best line....
"I’m not entirely sure what brooding is, other than a chicken sitting on her eggs. So I’m not entirely sure why that’s considered an attractive trait.”

LOL! When you put it that way.... no not attractive at all.  :D :D :D

I need to find something new to read.  Which is funny because I found a couple stories over the weekend that looked good but I don't remember what they were. I  did add them to my TBR list on Calibre. The one that has about 1500 stories on it.  :P :-[ ::)

Seeing Jacob's name on the rental made me think of it. ;)

Thanks Loopy for the link as well. Reading that article just reminds me of why we all love him so much....so endearing and modest. Loved that quote too Ella.

So I started The Governess by IBACULLEN, it's a wip. Alice and Rose are Edward's kids and he's a harda**. He

Another shocker.....totally not related....Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani??? Who saw that one?

Blake and Gwen a shocker?  Well - yes and no.  First - this is the first place I've heard it so yeah its surprising but on the other hand - its not like they don't know each other.  They are both recently divorced and they work together /have worked together on The Voice.   Is it Gwen's turn on the Voice for the new season starting soon?  I haven't been keeping track.   I've been too busy watching Bonanza, reading Bonanza Fanfiction and reading the new InDeath - Devoted In Death - really good by the way demaris if you are lurking.   I need to go read the last two issues of Entertainment Weekly and TV Guide and get caught up on TV News.   Heck - I missed Dancing With The Stars last night - I need to start paying attention to nighttime programming again.
