Thanks for the link Loopy. I hadn't read The Guardian article.

Best line....
"I’m not entirely sure what brooding is, other than a chicken sitting on her eggs. So I’m not entirely sure why that’s considered an attractive trait.”

LOL! When you put it that way.... no not attractive at all.  :D :D :D

I need to find something new to read.  Which is funny because I found a couple stories over the weekend that looked good but I don't remember what they were. I  did add them to my TBR list on Calibre. The one that has about 1500 stories on it.  :P :-[ ::)

I loved that line too.

Finally got to see Mission Impossible last night, my little man has started kindergarten (here everything before school starts is kindergarten) 2 days a week with his sister and that has helped loads with his separation anxiety so we were able to leave him with a babysitter!  Thought the movie was good, with some good humor, cool technology and not too overly violent, just one scene I particularly could have done without.  Didn't see my friend who tried to sneak into the group of extras while they were filming here.

  • Hi! I'm Ellachanted and I'm a fanfic-oholic.
So I'm reading this story I found on Twilight Archives called 100 years later. It is supposed to be about the Cullens, including Bella, Nessie and Jake, returning to Forks after 100 years. It is amazing. Nothing has changed hardly.  Um, except there are "trolleys" in the grocery store instead of carts. And baseball games last one inning LOL!

But she talks about their cars. Alice now has a purple Lamborghini because her yellow Porsche got boring. But it is still in the garage.  After 100 years.  Though I guess Rose could change out the engine. I have never seen a car last 100 years.  Especially not the way they drive.

This story doesn't seem to have much of a plot either. Oh well. I'll continue it until I find something better. It is amusing in its perfectness.  :D :D

I'm guessing that having the same cars after 100 years isn't some sort of social commentary on our dependence on oil to run our cars and the sabotage the oil industry does against other types of cars?  Or some sort of post apocalyptic story where they only have what was around before the catastrophe and have to keep them running with what they have?

Yeah I was reading some fic the other day that gave them Boxing Day and I had to laugh, the differences between the US and other English speaking countries are fairly well known and published, any non US writer who sets their story in the US should just glance over a list before they start writing.  Although I did learn a new US/Australian English difference a few months ago - Capsicum

It was a thimbles fic and Im surprised cause she normally writes about Australian.   So it kind of floored me that it was based in America it had me doing a double take.

If only that was the case with cars, no-one would have to buy a new car ever again if only!!  :P

LOL! No, I think she just doesn't have any imagination. And is probably not smart enough to realize things will change.

I think she just wanted to write a what happens after BD, which is how this was originally rec'd to me, but knew that if she wanted to put them in Forks, it would have to be 100 years later.

I've moved on. I found on of the stories I was going to read. Miss Conception and Mis (ter) Understanding by samekraemer.  ;)

This has been a problem for me as well. I am a bit of an Anglophile and have read a lot of England based fiction over the years (and Australian based as well) so I know what the words mean. It's just that they don't belong. So it pops me out of the story until I realize what is wrong with it.

I've read some MandyLeigh87. I think the Strange Brew one had some issues for me. But that may be more because it was in a brewery and some of the laws are different depending on the state you are in. But she writes well enough the errors don't pull me out of the story. ;)

I've been rereading a lot. So it's not just you.  And there's not a lot of new fiction that's good out there. There are some. But not the amount that was being produced regularly a few years ago. So it is sad.  :(

I'd say if have to join Ruth in her Bonanza fanfics. But I didn't like Bonanza that much LOL!

Ya, I noticed that there isn't as much new coming out, but I still have tons on my TBR list so no worries for me to run out anytime soon.

Anyone else having issues with the smileys? I click it but nothing happens.

Ella - the site is Bonanza Brand and their fics are really good.  They also have links to other sites that have both Bonanza and other westerns if you are interested.  Really nice people on the forums.

I'll be waiting to see what this bonus material is. Any bets on it being the Midnight Sun draft she had on her website once upon a time?

Funny you should say that, because I was thinking that too. I would like to say that I won't buy the book, but honestly I probably will just to have everything...

Um Heath Barkley? Or maybe Jared? The middle brother whose name I'm forgetting was also cute. But I usually wanted to bash him. He was a little annoying.

LOL! I don't actually like Bonanza. I was actually joking because I'm having trouble finding stuff to read in twifics. But thank you for the information.   I was a Big Valley girl. My mom liked Barbara Stanwyck. So we watched the reruns during the day when I was a kid.  :)

Say, wasn't Jared also the Professor? As in Nanny and.... He had such great dimples. :D
