Is it just me or is everyone feeling that Fics have gotten just Blah nothing really good popping up when you want something to read.

I was thinking the same thing after doing the stupid thing of reading Getting Blitzed and The Man Next Door at the same time last week, now I'm re-reading fics, which has proved to be a mistake as I just finished a fic I really liked the first time I read it but this time it drove me nuts as the SPaG was awful and Bella and Edward are really unlikeable. 

So, I just saw this. Gotta ask, who will be getting the new book?

I saw this a few weeks ago and pre-ordered it straight away. I wish I knew why I did this stupid thing but I have no real reason other than it's Twilight, lol. 
I just hope that it's worth the £9.99 I'll be paying for it. 

Same thing has been happening to me,  I reread a story I loved and now see all the flaws in it.

Maybe the release of the anniversary addition of Twilight will reignite the fanfic writers. We can only hope.

Ella - hey I gave you Big Valley which you preferred.  I didn't say they were any good.   There are probably more but I'm not the one looking.  I've found my Bonanza site that I'm happy with - 2100 fics(and they continue to add - they have writing challenges every month) - I'm into older Joe - seasons 11 - 14 and post timeline and I'm a happy camper.

I actually found a decent one on the second site you rec'd. But there aren't a lot.  But I could see reading this stuff. Which is funny because I usually avoid historical fics.

LANDON, Ella, LANDON......geesh......There is a fic on Bonanza Brand that has a Cartwright meeting up with a Jarrod Barkley - and I am assuming this is Jarrod of Big Valley.  If I can find it again, I'll give you the link.  I did a quick review for the author asking if it was the same Jarrod but she never responded at that point in time.  It wasn't long but it caught my attention.  I seemed to run into more High Chapparell fics when I was originally looking for Bonanza fics - used to love HC but I have no desire at this point in time to read the fanfic.   Like I sort of mentioned, if you google Big Valley fanfiction you should be able to find something.

LOL! I was a kid when he was on Little House, I don't remember his name.  At least I do remember he was cute back then.

Yes, Jarrod Barkley is the lawyer son on BV. I had never seen it spelled before I started reading yesterday.  They pronounced it Jared on the show.  I just remember wanting to be Linda Evans. She was beautiful, rode horses, and had great dresses.  These things were important when I was 8.

Me! I'm sorry but it is in my blood to buy it all... I can't help myself! 

Also, I must apologize.. When I met Stephanie last Saturday... my mind went blank, I giggled like a school girl, she said she thought my name was cute, I smiled at the photographer, and skipped away. Questions = Not answered      

This is a list of FF Authors who donated goodies to the little FF event I went to while in Forks. At first I thought they were all present, and kinda freaked.

I won Helena Hunting's book - The Librarian Principle... Anyone read it?

My friends won full sets of a few of the other author's books. The authors signed everything too! [emoji16]

I wonder if that's the published name of the iMac Fiasco by hunterhunting?  If it is, I've read the fanfic, but not the published version.

I suppose I'm lucky at the moment with Fanfictions. Although I have a fairly large library in Calibre, I'm still finding Fanfictions that I haven't read, and that have been recommended on this site. Currently I'm working through the index in alphabetical order.

And I also seem to be having the problem of re-reading old Fanfictions and the story just not being the same. Either the characters and plot don't seem to be as well written and developed as they first were when I read it, or the plot just seems to be pointless, and in some cases the characters and grammar mistakes annoy me.

Unfortunately I have not been on this site for a while. I have been catching up reading the comments more than adding in my own. And now it's the start up of college, and applying to Uni. This year is definitely going to be passing to fast.

And yes, I will also be buying the new (and hopefully somewhat amended or improved?) Twilight book.

Okay, so I am merrily reading along in Samekraemer's Miss Conception and Mis(ter) Understanding and we are at the point after Bella has had the babies by c-section. They are dry humping on the bed and Bella says something like I wish we could do more bUT she knows she can't have anything in her for a few more weeks.

Huh?!?!?? 

The main reason for no sex after giving birth is to let the stitches one tends to have to get heal.  Well, not the stitches, but you know what I mean. So if she had a c-section, I'm thinking sex is on the table as soon as she wants it.  Right?

I hate it when writers make stupid errors like that

Well, I haven't read the story and I'm not a doctor, but I have given birth both ways. Part of the wait is to allow your cervix to close back up.  So if she didn't dilate at all, then her cervix doesn't have to close.  But if she did dilate, then c-section or no, she still needs time to allow her cervix to get back to normal.  Plus, even after a c-section, you're physical abilities with muscles in your mid-section are compromised.  After my c-section, I vaguely remember being limited in the amount of weight I was allowed to lift and told to limit physical activities for a while since you have to heal inside and out.  Most of me felt better faster after vaginal birth, but you have the whole letting your cervix close and your uterus get back to normal, plus those couple of stitches they give you in the perineum to deal with. 

Ah, I did not know about the cervix part.  Thanks. I've never actually had kids.  I would have had no problem with the  "can't have sex until the abdomen heals"  but that is not what she said.  I had a similar surgery and was not allowed to lift more than 10 pounds for 6 weeks. So that was my first thought.  No sex until the abdomen heals. 

But  then they dry humped. Which would be almost the same as far as the abdomen goes. 

Sigh. 

*mumbles to self... It's fiction.  Just remember it's fiction and things don't have to make sense.... mumbles*

You're right.  I forgot about the dry humping part, unless he was doing all the work.  It's funny how often we have to remind ourselves about the fiction part.  I was just thinking that with some story I was reading, because so often the characters will say one thing and then contradict themselves in the next paragraph.  Hmmm...maybe that part is not so fictional.  I think that happens to me in real life, too.
