My 10yo knows that I read fanfiction and I told him about Twilight. He is absolutely not interested, but he understands my fascination with it. We had endless talks about it, thinking about the turning points in the books, why people chose plot points to write an own story. Why people love to write twilight fanfics because the characters are so flexible (each vamp has several last names and you can chose who's related to whom, because they change it too...)... Of course, I didn't tell him about the smut!  You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login but since girls are evil and have to be avoided at all times, it would only have made him run away... (he was so repulsed by the Harry Potter/Cho Chang christmas kiss, lol)

I don't hide that I read fanfiction. But I think it's different for me, because most people don't even know what that is about and then they are so "intimidated" by little geeky old me, reading books/stories in a foreign language, that they look for another topic very very fast 

Like I said before, by reading fanfiction you save the environment (no buying real books saves trees!) and you save money by not buying books, and you save space in your house.

And he reads a lot himself and wants to talk about the books he reads...
After discussing me reading fanfiction, we discussed why Hermione was a Gryffindor, he thought she was so smart, she should have been a Ravenclaw 

It certainly helps you make friends from all around the world.  Most of the people I know have absolutely no idea about fanfiction and if I try to explain it they look at me like I am daft.  I know one person who understands it, but she likes Harry Potter fanfiction.  My daughter (she's adult) knows I read it, at first she didn't approve, then she told me off for the smut, then she read a story for herself, now she doesn't comment, but she has some Wolf stories (not twilight) on her Kindle that are PWP she insisted I read then lhao!!

Yeah, yeah, you keep telling yourself that.  But when you have a hard drive full of fanfiction? It's just an addiction 

Though as far as addictions go? Reading is probably the best...and reading free fanfiction is better than going broke buying drugs.

Not sure how many, but defnitely a lot.

That I can think of: North and South America, Europe, Australasia.  Do we have anyone from the Far East, Africa, India, or Asia?  I have no idea.

Booked is from the Philippines, which I think covers Asia!
