I am pretty sure Susie self published.

She was a RAoR sister.

But that was after someone published her fic.

Edit: just saw that this is not the same Susie. But it still counts, suzie55 was going to publish stuff. I just don't remember if it was OF or not. I think she got the courage to do it after she saw that welcome to paradise was being sold.

Woa, only ONE new post overnight? Did you guys die or something??

Can someone tell me how hard it is to change out the fan in an Acer Aspire laptop? Or how expensive it would be to take it in? Because in the last week or so, this thing has gotten LOUD, and I don't want it to die on me. I've done it before in a desktop, but not a laptop.

They were all on Tumblr. JS

Actually, I spent a big chunk of the day until now (11:20pm) sorting through my emails from when I was away. I emailed links of recs to myself and had to check if I had them already. Then I went through my stalk list to see what had updated - there were some that hadn't updated since 2011 that posted another chapter (please don't ask what they were!) and what had completed.

I have 88 new fics that I need to flagfic to my TBR list.  ::)

Very productive!

And now I have to go read some more of BAtB and go to bed!

But I have to say, the flounced thread is my new favorite place!

They are usually inexpensive (compared to a new laptop. - $ 50-$70) and easy to install. You didn't say what model, but I will include an example.

They are usually plug and play. Meaning just plug them into the correct spot inside the laptop and screw back down. See the connector end?

You can shop around but here are some examples.

I cannot help you on charges, but maybe you could call them and ask?

The key is to know that it is the fan that is the problem. :)

I *think* it's the fan. Every few minutes I can hear it kick on and it buzzes kinda loud, and it comes from right where the fan looks to be located, I can see the vents in the bottom of the laptop.

I'm just really afraid to take the whole thing apart. I tried the other day, but once I got the bottom off, and realized they keyboard had to come UP to get to where the fan was. I had one key pop off this thing, and I never could get it to stay on. Fortunately, it's not a key I ever use, it's the "`" one, and I never use that little squiggle key.

ETA: thanks to your links I did find a video for my model. Just my dumb luck that I have the one where the thing pretty much has to be taken completely apart. Open the bottom, pry out the keyboard, take out a bunch more screws, pry out the plating where your hands rest, etc etc etc. I doubt I'd ever get this thing apart  without screwing it up even worse.
