I'm home at last!

Not much to catch up on - you must have lives outside these threads!

I've had a crap day and could do with cheering up.

I'm sorry you had a crap day!

This HAS been really slow today. I guess that's what folks get for complaining about too many pages to catch up on at once! ;)

I started reading this and it's complete. Reminds me of another fic I read but I can't remember the bloody name!

Thank you for the rec. This is a beautifully written story. Subject matter may be a bit controversial but I could not put this down. The writing is evocative and compelling. Really loved it, thanks

Barefoot in Texas
« Reply #2106 on: January 16, 2013, 01:14 PM »
I loved Barefoot in Texas! I could have done with it being 10 chapters longer, isn't it annoying when a really good story ends after 24 chapters and the poopoo ones grind along for 72..The only problem I faced was at the end of every chapter the rather helpful author recommends a number of fics, so as I finished one I picked-up around 10 more, you have no idea how relieved I was everytime she rec'd one that I had already read!  :P

I've decided that I might go back to lurking on PTS; I should really stop "talking". The reason? I seem to talk out my posterior, a lot..A couple of week back I proclaimed heatedly that I disliked O/Ss, then I read The FicChick's and loved them. Not learning my lesson I started going on about outtakes, "Waste of time" I proclaimed. "Can't be bothered!" I declared. "Once the story is done, it's done!" I blustered....I have three words for you New.Dusty.Outtake; I'll say no more  :-X

No I haven't read it as the summary put me off.  I know this is fanfic but the idea of USA winning the world cup is as laughable as England doing it again.  No offence intended to 'soccer' fans.  I might read it for the humour factor!

I was disappointed by Barefoot in Texas, probably because I followed it from the beginning and had no idea what it was about. Stuffy rich kid meets wild child is kind of overdone by now.

The concept, maybe, but the writing was really good and for the first time in ages I enjoyed reading the lemons..
