OKAY!  I NEED TO RANT FOR JUST A MINUTE!

When newbies are looking for stories, why don't they actually READ a few posts before and after theirs before they post the first time or the second time!  It wouldn't hurt to read the instructions for the thread...or even the last page of the thread before they frickin' post asking for something that was posted just a few replies before theirs or in a post following their initial request! AAAAAARRRRGGGGHHH!

I know what you mean - some peeps can be so lazy. I know the search function is a bit whack but at least try and use it before requesting something.

Like my Mum taught me and I teach my kids - Manners cost nothing. I'm pretty sure some peeps have never heard this. 

Most of the time if someone asks for a fic, I'll either do a custom google search or search 'perusing the shelves examplefic by anauthor'. I get results that don't show up in the search function and it's easier than trawling through tons of posts.

Oh, I forgot another thing newbies tend to do!

'Hi, I'm looking for a story where Edward meets Bella blah blah then Edward dies. Has anyone else read it?'

Even when someone does reply with the fic title there's no point in reading it as they've just given you the whole plot and spoilt the ending anyway! Drives me insane. It's easy enough to describe the plot basics without giving everything away.

Yeah me too when I found this site I went trough the original 152, every single page of it and when I found it, it was on Page 170ish so yeah. I mean bad maners and lazy, that is a bad combination

Yeah, I think they probably don't stick around long.  I think they are like the rude Facebook ladies.  I've gotten to the point where I don't like going over to FB.  Don't get me wrong, there are some really great ladies over there.  Just the annoyingly prissy ones seem to make me feel uncomfortable posting there.  They have no sense of humor.
