Manners?  what's that?  :D :D
I know, I know, there are some cultures that don't seem to have manners in their basic upbringing. But really, life works so much better when you use them.

OKAY!  I NEED TO RANT FOR JUST A MINUTE!

When newbies are looking for stories, why don't they actually READ a few posts before and after theirs before they post the first time or the second time!  It wouldn't hurt to read the instructions for the thread...or even the last page of the thread before they frickin' post asking for something that was posted just a few replies before theirs or in a post following their initial request! AAAAAARRRRGGGGHHH!

There...I feel better...

None of that was aimed at you lovely ladies.  That's why I felt I could say it here.
:iagree: I know what you mean - some peeps can be so lazy. I know the search function is a bit whack but at least try and use it before requesting something.

LOL
I received a PM that left me speechless, it went something like this:

Your link is not working, I need this fic ASAP

 :o blink  :D

I hope you ripped them I new one or totally ignored them.  >:(
Like my Mum taught me and I teach my kids - Manners cost nothing. I'm pretty sure some peeps have never heard this.  >:(

What bugs me worse is that I've found stuff on here just googling it. (I sometimes have better luck using Google than using the PTS search function *hides head*)  So you think they could at least Google first!  >:(
Most of the time if someone asks for a fic, I'll either do a custom google search or search 'perusing the shelves examplefic by anauthor'. I get results that don't show up in the search function and it's easier than trawling through tons of posts.

Ignoring the rudeness of that PM, I want to know what was so urgent that she needed it right now. Let's hope it wasn't for the lemon-y purposes :o I probably would have replied saying 'Oh it's not working? Let me go fix it right now!' and then waited the whole day until doing it.

Oh, I forgot another thing newbies tend to do!

'Hi, I'm looking for a story where Edward meets Bella blah blah then Edward dies. Has anyone else read it?'

Even when someone does reply with the fic title there's no point in reading it as they've just given you the whole plot and spoilt the ending anyway! Drives me insane. It's easy enough to describe the plot basics without giving everything away.

Word to this!

When I first found this site I went through every single page of the original 152 thread. It's not that hard and as Ella said, Google the effing fic! God, shit like this bothers me. I admit, I have serious issues with the search feature on here buuuuuut I always check first, then go through what I have, like the zip files then when I've exhausted all I'll ask. The only time I ask is when I would like a rec and someone always has one and will point out where I need to get it. I love the ladies here who have offered up any and all advice :)  :-* :-*

 :iagree: :iagree:

I have a feeling that some of these people are the ones who complain about fics, pics just general political correctness etc. It's Rob and manips and just plain fun. They need to have a stiff drink or stiff something else in them.

I'm reading Blind Spot and having a difficult time getting into it.

Does it get better? I feel like I'm behaving like a fic snob :(

Yeah, I think they probably don't stick around long.  I think they are like the rude Facebook ladies.  I've gotten to the point where I don't like going over to FB.  Don't get me wrong, there are some really great ladies over there.  Just the annoyingly prissy ones seem to make me feel uncomfortable posting there.  They have no sense of humor. :P

I think you're being too harsh, SavyB. The huge sticks up their arses count as something stiff, surely?
