Ive been reading fanfic since 2009.
I havent read EP yet, but ive read a lot of stuff. So  there isnt much left to read.
I dont read slash or non canon. havent been reading many vamp fics. i prefer AH.

its not bad.
i didnt flounce it. but it was not a page turner.

Me too.
I have.  So many I can't remember.  I know pickings are getting slim.
Neither do I.   What's that?  There aren't many good ones and so do I.

I think I did lose you.

The I have was I had read EP!

We need some decent new blood who don't just want to make a quick buck by publishing fics.  Every one I read at the moment is trying to publish OC or pulling a fic to publish.

The Hostage by EBAlways. You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login is a really interesting article on it, the fic and the book are 99% different, so basically a whole new story. She used the same concept but that was about it. Really good though. Things are always better when they're free ;)

So i dwnloaded it. Now i have to change their names to edward and bella.

Like Lucy.

I can only remember reading one real (paper) book since about 2009 and I changed the names then.  >:D

It turned out to be a really good E/B story!

I'm the biggest angst-phone in the fanfic world, of course it is! I did seriously wonder toward the end though.

Sorry to be a pain in the behind, but who here finds an epi or tying-up-loose-ends type chapter necessary? I think my fic is nearly over (:() and I'm trying to decide how necessary it is to do one. It feels slightly cheesy but at the same time fics can feel incomplete without one, so I'd like opinions please ladies :-*

I don't think I actually read any of this fanfic.

I like how honest she is in this interview and would have absolutely loved to have seen 'Icy's' reaction to the criticism.   ;D

Bring on the cheese!

I love it when a fic leaves you with a smile on your face because all the ends are tied up.

The way I see it if I'm wondering, it isn't finished.

Hope this helps!

you can have an epilogue without calling it one.

it all depends on how you end it.

but with fanfiction im always eager to read about E and B having babies.

Tying-up-loose-ends; then yes. I really dislike it when stories are left with little loose threads, although sometimes it's okay, especially if there is a planned sequel.

As for an epilogue for the sake of having B&E pop out 1000s of babies and live happily every after in their castle in the clouds then no, I don't think they are necessary at all and more often than not if the last chapter ties all the stories plot lines into a neat little bow then I don't read the gratuitous fluff chapter. But I do know that some readers can get kinda antsy if they don't get one.

Ultimately it's up to you Lauren, it's your story and you can only write what feels right. If you want/ think it needs and epi then go for it! You could always add it as a separate one-shot if you don't think the story needs it but you want one. In the end if you write one and people don't want to read it then they don't have to!

From what I read she barely posted any, I love that she's open and admits it. 89% similarity between a fic and a book (like with MotU/50) is appalling and I still wonder how they got away with it.

I didn't actually consider the one-shot idea, so thanks for that. I suppose it's one of those situations where you can't win with the readers - you're right that I should do what feels best for me. Sometimes it's easy to forget that, thank you for reminding me :-*

I wonder what I would do without you PTS ladies sometimes - feels odd to think of reading fanfic with no-one to discuss it with now!

I prefer fics that either tie every thing up or have an epilogue some time in the future showing them with their HEA  ;D

No one shots. Do an outtake but upload on the same place. It's easier to flagfic like that.
