G'Day to everyone. I know I have been MIA and since this thread goes waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay faster than it did in the beginning, it took me awhile to catch up. Let's see the week I have been away, I see ff patrol is out and targeting and no more ebooks on this site. I have added so many stories to fav at TWCS. Geez.

I will be MIA for a little while longer, my grandmother has just passed away and the funeral is tomorrow. Since my mother is an only child and my sister doesn't live around here, I have trying to be my mother's support group and her backbone. So I have not disappeared, just have some RL stuff I have to prioritize.

Just be careful voting. Most polls have an option to see who voted and what for. This could be a way for them to target and harass more people. They will go to your user pages and see who is on your favorites list, target those authors. Just don't feed the trolls!

Stay calm and read and REVIEW Fanfiction...

The more twitter squawking and vigilante reactions our twilight fandom group makes, the more justified these misogynists feel in attacking ONLY women writers.

IT"S THE SAME GROUP.... LU has not disbanded... only regrouped under a different smelly sock.

Don't go to the forums. You will be attacked.

Don't click on their links because it gives them more 'fan' traffic and, thus... more power.

Do complain the the FanFiction admin that you believe this group's behavior is motivated by hate, and not 'helping' enforce the FFn standards, as they claim.

The Literate Union forced a lot of big stories out, like Masters of the Universe BUT this meant FanFiction lost a TON of revenue.

Think about it.

Every time we review and support our writers ON the Fanfiction site, they make money. Driving away popular fics is NOT what FanFiction wants.

We must be present accounted for.

Many readers download only completed stories in pdf and thus, and are invisible in our fandom. By reading on the FanFiction site site and reviewing (even a smiley) it shows the FanFiction Administration a strong and united front of supporters.

If we make them money.... they have reason to protect us from the LU.

Running after the LU and scolding like fish wives is a very, very bad idea. Reporting... well you're no better them them, are you? Censorsip is wrong, right? No matter what the motivation.

Instead.... Be a positive force and DON"T act like them, reporting and burning back. Not cool and your behavior is a reflection on you and our fandom.

We're smarter than this.

Write the FanFiction Administration today, and tell them you think this targeting is not about protecting the 'standards' but about attacking a target group of women.

That is what got them kicked out last time.... because their racist, homophobic and misogynistic targeting got them shut down and their forums 'cleared' out, with no warning.

See? There is justice if we stay united and cool.

Read, review and send a proper letter to FanFiction Admin (no shouty caps, people) and calmly thank them for all the reading you love to do, and hopefully they will see from your personal 'traffic' that you are a supporter, not a pdf ghost.

Explain your dislike of FanFiction allowing these men to carry out these hate fueled attacks in FanFiction's name.

Numbers and money speak louder to FanFiction then the Literate Union's troublesome hate campaign: trust me. I know.

If you care about the writers, protest.... but do it with supportive actions and dignity.  Don't stoop to their level.

It makes me terribly sad that there are such pathetic people that make something that's supposed to be fun,entertaining and a creative way to express our love for books,movies etc, a tool to enforce THEIR opinions on others and dictate what we  should or shouldn't read!!!

yeah I know but it really pisses me off that they treat something I love as mean to their end...an end that doesn't even make sense!!

Still working on the list gotten a good amount done but you ladies keep on uploading, hahaha.

Sad event when freedom of speech in the fanfiction world die every day little by little. I always said too many people take fanfiction to the extreme. If you don't like something don't read it simple as that. I'm still remember the golden age of fanfiction in the 90s and early 2000s. People respect each others and the writing even if it wasn't your cup of tea. Quite disappointed to see it end especially in this manner. Just imagine how these people are in the "real world" quite scary in my opinion.

But at least there are others sites like ff.net, back in the days when something got taken off ff.net it was gone forever. At least that has change. Best of luck to all of us and remember save what you got now no matter what. Have a great day guys.

In the past, they have focused on Twilight because of it having mostly women writers and our fans are very vocal and inter-connected.

They have reported in other fandoms, like HP, but mostly just HP slash.

Twilight remains their fav hate target because of the primarily 'loud' female demographic.

Twilight is what changed FanFiction, and they hate us for it.

Because we react, we are sitting ducks. Our strength as an interactive community is also what makes us weak because some people are too quick pick up pitchforks and torches. When we start mirroring their idiocy, it makes them look good.

They count on this, and pose us 'us' trying to force a reaction. It's called posse gathering, and it's easy to get 'us' up in arms and attacking the Literate Union, making them look like innocent victims, just trying to 'help' FanFiction by guarding against the twi-fandoms bad behavior and lack of regard for the rules and etiquette.

We won't give them satisfaction because we know better.

We'll just write a letter to FanFiction instead, making a calm and articulate complaint.

Our pen is mightier than their tiny, pricking swords.

T-H-U-D . . . . elbow slips off desk and wham! faceplant into keyboard* (and not for the first time) oops! *blushes* sorry! What- er, what was it- I was saying?? Oh, yeah- something wasn't there. But for the life of me I can't figure out what?? And unlike the talented ladies here, I don't have a spreadsheet to check and see what has been sucked into the realm of where-the-hell-did-my-other-sock-go-I-know-there-were-two-when-I-put-them-in-the-dryer??
