I'm getting really annoyed with all the FF authors pulling and closing their profile because of this crap with the stupid union crap. I get that they are a nuisance, but pulling their stuff and using this as a reason is a cop-out.

There are plenty of authors who are going through the same bs and keeping their stuff up or moving it. A few authors have done this time and time again, one in particular comes to mind. I get the annoyance but if you don't want your stuff up for others to read, take it down and be done. The union was around before and will be there for even longer. It's the internet. Shit happens *huffs*

Hey, I understand what you are saying from a readers standpoint. It is very frustrating when beloved stories and whole profiles disappear.

However, if I was a writer, my feelings would be completely different. I would pull everything off the site as the ultimate screw you to FFn. It would be like I don't need you or your stupid site. Heat of the moment type thing, ya'know.

If I knew that a copy of the story, that's complete, was floating around for people to share. Why not! It's the supreme protest.

Just my humble opinion.

I understand the point. However, there are some authors that do it for shock value and have stated that they will never post on another site, which is totally cool but using this as an excuse sucks. I get the garbage that authors put up with, wanting to take a break and just getting pissed with nasty pm's etc are all valid. I just have a hard time with the authors who post and pull again and again. If you know that this stuff is going on (seems to be ongoing) then post somewhere else or don't post at all.

I'm grateful for all authors who have had the balls to put themselves out there and share. It's really none of our business why they pull, it's their choice, but using the LU as a scapegoat makes me stabby *shrugs*

Thursday thru Saturday 8:00 PM CDT to 8:00 PM CDT ( 6/7 - 6/9)

According to the converter, Eastern Time would start the boycott at 9:00 pm on June 7th and continue until 9:00 pm on June 9th. I intend to participate and probably won't go on ff until Sunday afternoon.
It is my understanding that the boycott will cover Friday (give or take a few hours depending on your area) and Saturday (give or take a few hours).

The Facebook page has "Banning FanFiction.NET for 48 hrs (June 8 00:00 PDT - June 10 23:59 PDT)."

So that would include Sunday.

I took it as starting midnight June 8 through midnight Sunday night.

EXACTLY!!! This is why I pulled A Labor of Love in the first place. People thought I pulled for whatever reason, but it was entirely to say EFF YOU to FFn. Did it generate a lot of traffic? No, but I would get new random reviews all the time. This most recent FFn shenanigans is why I pulled The Matchmaker (and reposted at TWCS; been meaning to repost ALoL there). I've always made both available for reading, posting where to read and offer downloads. I just want to do my little part reducing the traffic to their site.

You are correct. I'm trying to think of a few others...

This is what I figure - you're never going to please everyone, so just stay true to yourself.... but pulling? That goes beyond, IMHO.
