Hi Everybody
« on: May 18, 2012, 06:27 AM »
Well, I've just relised that I've been a member of this forum for about a month now, and I haven't even bothered to introduce myself.  I know, I know how rude of me?

Well, better late than never!

Hi, I'm DarkGuyver and I'm an alcoholic.... HAHAHA just kidding.  I thought I would add a little humour to my introduction.

DarkGuyver, as some of you will probably relise from my screen name, I am a fan of the Guyver anime/manga francise.

I found this forum, while searching for more Tess Gerritsen (yes, I watch Rizzoli & Isles) eBooks for my Sony PRS-350 eReader, which I got a couple of months ago.  But found a surprisingly large amount of books for my eReader, which I am honestly thankfull for.

Besides reading, I like watchin action, sci-fi, thriller movies and TV shows.  I'm a martial artist, I'm a 3rd degree black belt in Shotokan Karate, and I currently study Lin Kuei martial arts (a Chinese martial art, which is the ancester of Japanese Ninjitsu).  I'm a videogamer, I'm a fan of Street Fighter, Bayonetta, God Of War, Soul Calibur, House Of The Dead, and the Need For Speed games (in particular the Underground series, and Most Wanted).

I'm very knowledgable about computers so if you have any questions about computers or computer related problems post a topic and I will see what I can do for ya.  I'm also a technology nut, so any related technology discuss are game.

I hope to meet some new friends here and share some of my collection of eBooks which may be of interest to others.

At least you share your birthday with somebody cool, and a respected musician.  Who do I share my birthday with a blonde rom-com actress....  :(

But remember you share your birthday with the Great ABE Forum God Wotan.

I'm currently reading a fairly well written book on Pirates in the 1600s.  Roof and food are vastly over rated.

This is really good.  The author did a LOT of research on the Buccaneer and Port Royal

Glad you are enjoying the book, as much as I'm enjoying reading the Rizzoli & Isles series of books

They sort of bored me.  I didn't like her characters as well as I like the series characters.   I really like the TV series and went into the books expecting to like them as much.  It's rare I like the series better than the books.

I should have known.  I tend not to like female authors.  I have ones I really like for example Dana Stabenow [but the last two Kate books put paid to that], Ruth Rendell and the like but they are few.  Most of the books I keep are male authors.

My sister doesn't realize it is a compliment that I really like her writing.  :D

Really, I thought the books were way better than the TV series.  The book was much darker and gritter.  I prefer the book version of Maura Isles than the TV series version, she is not as ditzy in the book as she is in the TV series.

I think it was Rizzoli.  I like the TV Rizzoli.  I really like the TV Rizzoli.  Isles not so much.  Rizzoli's mother I would duct tape and toss her overboard.  I like the book Isles better.

Yeah, I prefer the TV version of Rizzoli too.  The novel version of Rizzoli was OK, but she didn't seem as badass as her TV counterpart.  Yeah, I would duct tape Rizzoli's mom to a boat ancher and throw her overboard too.  I just cann't believe how annoying she seems in the books.

Please to meet you to, sbardhan.  I haven't read one of the Rizzoli & Isles books yet, and I have download all of the recent releases.  Mainly due to being distracted by Filouke wanting me to read her book recommendations.  :P  I'm a fan of the TV show so I hope the books are a good read.

Hey! the books are great! they're much more creepy than the series though...but i like it that way...not to mention maura's character is more stern in the books than the series...try reading them! :D

Oops, I got the two mixed up..  8)  Yeah, I meant the series version of Maura Isles is annoying as hell.  She seems like a dumb version of Temperance Brennan from the Bones series.

That is good I managed to get somebody lost in this conversation  :D

It's not just staring into the water that gets me sick, is the constant rocking motion of the boat that gets me sick.  Believe it or not seasick affects quite allot of people, fisherman, naval personnel, members of law enforcement and ship crewmembers all get it too.

Temperance ain't doing so hot this season either.  I took it off my watch list a couple months ago because it just seemed to be a spoof on the early seasons.  There are  a couple than had the same fate as Bones.  This is the first time I have removed shows during the season but the writing is really bad.

I picked up a couple Canadian ones.  Have you seen Cracked yet?

Yeah, I was never really fond of Tempy to begin with.  I do like the Bones series, and so far this season has been pretty interesting with Pelant.

Nope, have seen or heard of Cracked.  Is it any good?

I really like it.  It's about a cop with PTSD who is assigned to a new "psych" crimes and crisis unit.  He has a psychiatrist as his partner and the other has a male psych nurse.  They do a very good job of it.  His boss wants his partner to give her a diagnosis on him and the partner says "Well, he's not broken, he's cracked"

putlocker, sockshare or gorillavid are usually the best.

I can tell you it's good.  I worked in psych and I haven't said "What a bunch of crap yet"

Yeah it can affect anyone of course! Dynamic body balance is maintained by the semi-circular canals which contain fluid. While our eyes remain steady at a spot the endo/peri lymph slosh around with every motion of the bougt wreaking havoc on our senses till eyes and brain are out of phase. :(

Seriously? I confess I havent followed it since Season 4, when they took it of the telly. :( I'm now downloading all through Torrent.

Not the current season.  I don't like this Bones at all.  It had  nothing to do with being hot but it has to do with being someone I would like to know.  I don't want to know this season's Bones.
