I just noticed I have Angelfall on my iPad. So it's good?
I thought it was really good, I think I 5 starred it. It's very light on the romance though. More actiony and plotty, less first love angsty.
How long is the series? I read the first 2 books, I think, and then didn't bother with the rest once they came out. The first was OK the second so, so....maybe I read the third? Hmmm? Read them as books too so God knows where they are now....
For supernatural YA, have you read Angelfall by Susan Ee? I really enjoyed this one, it was different from all the other YA PNR I'd been reading. My daughter really likes the Lunar Chronicles series by Marissa Meyer. Oh and Maggie Stiefvater has a couple of really good series, particularly Shiver and the faerie series are the two I've read.
I thought I was seeing things when I got an email saying that BoydBlog had updated You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login as it's been sooooooo long since the last update I totally forgot about it.
I've heard good things about the Stage Diver series. Are they standalones?
Which Bella do you prefer to read or write about? Some common tropes of general female characters that I've at least read to portray Bella:Highly persuasive regardless of the actual content of their conversations, she manages to convince everyone else that her way is the best way.Friend to all living things she loves everyone and forgives them all for their imperfections, plus she is willing to save, protect or risk all for the sake of someone she has met just seconds ago.Master in disguise either brave and cheerful (despite her past), usually a variation of Friend to all living thingsIncorruptible unaware of the possibility of temptation her love interest poses (innocent, insecure Bella)."Feminist"/Strong occasionally a complete asshole, especially when she's supposed to be all of the above. Nobody will call her out on her abrasive, casually abusive behavior. Other characters usually bend to her will. A variation on Highly persuasiveBeing super awesome is a curse for those Vampire!Bella fans who like a variation of Master in disguise
I was sure I was seeing things Do you think this will be on-going? Ella, you must have this on your alerts too right? Actorward. Now all I need is Irreconcilable Differences, Bittersweet Symphony and When Fiction Becomes Realityto update and my life will be complete....
Does anyone know if Skygods (Hydraulic, #2) is written from new material or did she ( Gondolier) split Hydraulic level 5 into two parts?
You would think... but I was reading it as a WIP and got bored even before I got to the point of where she stopped. I didn't get what all the problems were about. It seemed like excessive angst for no real reason. And maybe she explained it after I gave up....
I took a peek at these books and it's nothing like the fic that I remember. [spoiler]Isn't the fic about a young E and older B....C dies.....
HL5 was about childhood sweethearts, Edward is a successful author trying to reconcile with Bella after he went nuts. I read it back when it was first put out and again when it finally completed. Its really good but very emotionally exhausting and heavy on the angst. I liked it enough but didn't like the way she portrayed Edward. Without giving away too much of the plot, he had medical issues that were exaggerated to the max in the worst possible symptoms with what he had. It was like reading the textbook stereotypes for his diagnosis.
Yeah, Super has it right no one dies in HL5. But I still no clearer, is Skygods new material?
Sorry, don't know....I obviously crs.Now I'm going nuts trying to remember the name of the fic I described.
too funny. Good luck let me know when you work it out. Are you sure Bella is older?
Yes. She was a teacher...he a 16/17yo. They met at a museum and he gave her a glass of wine. I'm gonna post on the 152 thread. I know someone over there knows
