Please be aware that we have long since finished this.  We NO LONGER ALLOW SHARING OF EBOOKS on this site.  Please do not post a book, it will be removed.  Please do not post a link.  It will be removed.

Dear members

We are in progress of migrating have migrated the site to a new name and defining defined new guidelines. One of the most important is to discontinue hosting ebooks on our website so that we are DMCA compliant.

Over next few days STP's team of Moderators will be deleting all posts from all the Boards containing books and book requests.   These have been deleted.

Please do not make any further book uploads on the site.

Thank you for your understanding.

Note: We will review the new rules when the site is fully migrated, so if you have any suggestions please let us know by contacting one of our Mods.

i'm certainly not a mod, but after reading various rules & from posting experience, i think this would still be considered promoting/ul-christopher-buecheler-the-blood-that-bonds-ii-am-trilogy-1 ebooks & therefore not permitted under new guidelines.  just my thoughts.  a mod can tell you for sure.
“But I don’t want to go among mad people," Alice remarked.
"Oh, you can’t help that," said the Cat, "We’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad."
"How do you know I’m mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn’t have come here.”

Here is what I was thinking (but I would like a mod to tell us if it's feasable);

We create dropbox/the box/any other cloud storage option. On the stp website (or whaterer the new name will be) we can post a list of ebooks we have to share. Then the requests can be made by pm and the link to the document or an email with it can be sent to whoever want to read it.

I would still like to remain on the same website, after all this where we all came together and I'm sure there are even friendships created here. The ideea of migrating to another website who might allow booksharing is not very loyal to the people who created the website and offered us so many beautiful books.

I hope you realize that doing so would violate Dropbox policy and your account could be banned or suspended.

Here is what Buttercup said about this, so I guess it wouldn't be a huge problem:

We tried to discourage this before because:
1) for YOUR privacy because giving out your email is giving out your personal information; and
2) for YOUR protection because this is a good way for people to send you spam and viruses.

We can't stop you from PMing each other with requests to be emailed, but if I, as a member, received a request from someone I don't know, I may or may not appreciate being contacted like that and may or may not be suspicious of that person and may or may not respond.

As for privacy, anybody can create an annonimous email account and use it to share ebooks, I am not concerned about that at all.

I cant say I was surprised to suddenly discover the ebook sharing thread discontinued...  havent been a member of this site long enough to appreciate it but nonetheless, just want to say thanks to the mods/admin for for the haRd work they put into making STP running smoothly..  wish there would be an amicable agreement to resolve the ebook sharing problem.. i totally understand the author's side but i do hope they consider the reader's viewpoint too, many books/authors are inaccessible in some areas of the world...

google "Tribler" interesting concept for a decentralized peer-to-peer network for  sharing documents - not recommended when it's not legal, of course.

that's the spirit.  STP has a great group of people here.  I love reading the conversations- they have me rolling so many times.  This site is sooo much more than about getting free books.  It is a community in itself with such dedicated people trying to help each other.  I am soo glad I found STP and proud to be a STPer.   :-*

Well, sharetermpapers can forget about more than half of their users. Everyone that I know of only uses this site for the very purpose of getting ebooks. What a bummer..

:'( This is a very sad piece of news. I was elated, super happy to have found this website. It was like a huge treasure trove of books and to me, pure heaven. Not everyone can afford to buy every single books he or she likes. There are like milions and billions of well written booksout there and all. It is real saddening that I could no longer be able to download ebooks for free.

But, I totally understand. To many writers, this is their only source of livelihood. Free downloads equals to lower income.

Just want to say that I am happy to have found this website as I not only downloaded a few books for free but was also introduced to new books by members here. I have read a fair share of werewolf/romace/vampire books and was kinda bored as I did not know any other series that suit my taste.

Thank you STP for giving me a chance to download some of the books I have been drooling over but never had the money to buy.  :-*
Love me, Love my Books!!!

I am 100% grateful for this most wonderful site and now am 100% completely wrecked as to what has happened.  Because of this site, many authors have become more popular than they ever were or could have ever hoped to be.  Many member on this site went out and bought the actual books (as long as it was a good book) which generated a lot of revenue for authors - revenue they would not have had if someone from this site was not recommending their books.  I have found a plethora of new favorites from other members on this site ... and for that, I give you my whole-hearted thanks.  I will always be a member of this site, and will continue my support of you.

Look I completely understand the problem you guys are facing, the government is closing in and you want to do the right thing but i don't think you guys understand just what this site means to all the users.
Its a well known fact that over half the users are here for the free ebooks and that once you remove them then were would we turn to . Online sharing is something that the government can not stop no matter how hard they try people will ALWAYS upload and others will ALWAYS download, thats just the way it is.
STP is something that i discovered by chance and ever since that day i have faithfully come here to find out new release and get books that i obviously cant get . Lemme tell you guys something i live in a country where i cant just pop down to the local drug store and buy a book; its called Nigeria check it out. STP has helped me overcome that hurdle and quite frankly if this is taken away then im not sure what im going to do. Books serve as my escape now im not saying im miserable or anything like that but its nice for me to be able, even if its just once in a while, to delve into the drama of some protagonist.
If you guys stop sharing e-books then you are just conforming to the norm.
Please try to understand what this site means to us try to see things from our POVs. STP if you stop sharing E-books then you have admitted defeat.
Raju.

 :wtf:

No they haven't - what they have done is they have saved themselves from a lawsuit.

Look, I feel for all of you, I do.  But you know what?  STP offered a FREE service that they no longer offer anymore.  It sucks, but a lot of things do in life & I hope this is the least of them for you.
They also offered FREE boards where you could meet someone from another country, learn about a new author, post your favorite song, talk about WHATEVER.  THEY STILL OFFER THAT.
You can't complain about something you didn't pay for in the first place.  Unless of course you at some time contributed to the cause.  And if THAT is the case, well I'm quite sure you got your moneys worth in ebook returns.

Yes, it's disappointing & maybe even sad for some, but try to understand the circumstances (if you are not in our country maybe you do not understand the law).  Quit biting (disrepecting) the hand of the folk that FED your downloading habit for however long you were here for & never asked for ANYTHING in return except to play nice.

are you just logging in for the first time since this happened?  because if so, a 12 hour notification would have done you no good.  nor would a 24 hour.  nor a 48 hour.  nor a 72 hour.  (i could go on.)  it's been this way for a week.  just sayin'...
