I started this one......I will have to start it again I think. I've been doing a lot of flitting lately trying to find something that really catches my interest. Sometimes it's hard because I don't really know what I want to read.

But thanks for the rec and the information

I enjoyed the story so much that I actually read it twice........back to back. It is kind of embarrassing to admit...

Emotional Ambush was never completed. It was probably only 5 chapters. I am thinking it started as a one shot, expanded and then she left ff. I am going to check my external to see if I have further information.

Thanks Avag! In my search, I came across a thread (now discontined) that might have indicated that the story went up to chapter 9. I'm not sure though. I'd be happy with just 9 chapters because I might have a sense where's the story is heading. I'm left with such an emotional state at the end of chapter 5...

Emotional Ambush by Mombailey is incomplete the 8th chapter is an AN and the 9th is only partial.

We are quite similar, it seems lol. Even with what I'm reading right now (MoBS), I'm having trouble finishing it...and I really like it. I don't know wth my issue is but grrrrr

I enjoyed My Mate...It was one of the few I've read that both E and B were vamps. I was skimming toward the end though...once again I had lost interest to focus completely on it for some reason

Very sad news. Just4ALE died of ovarian cancer last night. She wrote Tunes with Tony Masen and other stories. She was a wonderful person.

How awful about just4ale!! It made me shiver when I read that post, I had just added America Vamp to my TBR list on Wednesday!! I hope her family realise how many people she touched; over 3000 people read Tunes...not counting her other stories. It is so sad

And her stories were really good.

Ovarian cancer is a quiet killer. My mother was somewhat lucky in that she discovered it early and they think they caught it all. Though the chemo was not fun. And at 85, if it comes back, she's okay with it. You have to die from something eventually. But then my mother is like that.

But normally? It doesn't really show up on tests and most only discover it when it metastasizes to another organ.

Then it is too late. So if you are done having kids and your doctor offers to remove them? Yeah, go for it. The surgery is not that bad

Maybe it's a cross between UST and ANGST......UGST! LOL! No?

Sorry I have been MIA for awhile but yes that is exactly what UGST means! I have been reading twilight since 2009 some of the older authors would describe their stories this way and I love these kinds of plots. They never get boring and they keep the reader on their toes.

I'm wondering, how you lovelies are saving/archiving your stories. I ask because I have a bunch of completed fic saved as "favorites" at FF.Net and a bunch of completed/pulled fics on my computer/iPad (these tend to the same just iPad makes for easier reading etc) Only problem is I can't ever seem to remember what is where, I saw a rec for My Mate by PrincessRachael and thought "Hmmm? Do I have that?" Took me over 20 minutes to find it in FF Favorites

I'd quite like a more amenable system and wonder what you beauties did (yes I'm kiss up a little, shoot me.) I'm thinking - every thing that's completed, regardless of whether it's pulled or not, should maybe be download and saved and just use FF to track WIP? But what do you guys think/do?

Grateful in advance for any ideas/insights

I have taken my favs and converted them to pdf with fanfic downloader and then saved them on a usb memory stick. I have also save my favs list from fan fiction to my desk top as word doc so that I have the name, title, author and description on hand so that it is easier to find a pulled fic.

I'm a bit OCD so here's what I do lol

I use my ffn account to keep track of all of my WIPs. As soon as they are marked complete, I flag it and put it in my dropbox acct. I also add each completed fic to my calibre library b/c I like to use tags with what kind of -ward and the genre of the fic.

I also have a google doc that I have all of my titles with the author and summaries in. So when I'm on the prowl for something new I can read the summaries and pick from that. Both the google drive and dropbox have apps so that makes all kinds of awesome with everything automatically syncing up.

I also back everything up to flashdrives. And maybe a couple other clouds (sugar sync, box, cubby, etc).
