It usually takes me longer because I have most fics in docx and have to convert them.  By the time I do that and get back to post someone else usually has already posted.   These were in PDF.

Do you know the published version of Pilfered's name and author.

Avag - Just curious - Why do you need to convert them to PDF first? Personally, I'd love to have other formats than PDF.  PDF is the hardest format to convert to epub/mobi. I've had a lot of problems converting some pdf files to epub/mobi format (sentences got cut off in the middle, weird symbols inserted in the file, etc).  I'm still trying to figure out a quick way to fix those 'converted' files without having to go through the process of converting them first to doc/rtf format and then fixing them line by line...  If you know a way, please let me know.  Thanks!

These were just saved that way.  I probably downloaded from google or 4shared, or some other site.   I usually convert from rtf to doc not from docx to pdf.  Sorry about that.  I save nothing in docx or pdf if I can help it. 

I do not like pdfs that much either, but take them when they are available.   I prefer doc or rtf. I have to convert from rtf to upload to this sight.

I go from pdf to rtf  and then  rtf to epub using Calibre.  Older pdf files do not convert well to anything.

It does take some doing sometime - especially when the double ll's are missing in the conversion.

Still have to endure some grief when dealing with these e books.   I want to do it, so I find a way.   Nothing is foolproof though so sometimes it is just experimentation. Sometimes I read with the missing double ll's.

I do not convert unless I plan on reading.   Otherwise that would be all I did.

I struggle with this all the time.  I've been trying to get my reading list and archives organized but it takes so long!  I basically keep a Google Spreadsheet and update that when I can.

I have finally finished uploading all my "favourite" stories and my WIPs from FF.net onto Calibre it's great because you can download/update directly from FF.net but it took 2 days!! And quite labour intensive but once it's done, it's done...

HOW THE HECK ARE YOU DONE? I worked all day yesterday and I have not even gotten but a small portion done. 

Sweet Girl, I doubt very much I have as many stories as you! I only got into Twifics in May of this year!! That's why I asked because I can see this is going to become a huge deal and I wanted to get into good habits early on....BTW, thanks for all your tips, I used them all and they really helped!

OK, I took the plunge and asked for the fanfiction downloader to update in calibre.

Nothing happened. Does that mean I have to edit the metadata and add all the URL's for all the stories in my favorites at Twilighted, Fanfiction.net, and TWCS?

HOLY CRAP. I have over 700 in my favs just at ffn.net

Then if I select the story to update I have to provide my username and password individually for each story ?

Yeah it remembers...

OOC has to do with  the character and AU is more about the setting of the story eg if Bella is a bitch but still human falling in love with a vampire that's OOC but if Bella as we know her from the book is an alien living in Mars that's AU(if she was still a bitch it'd be both OOC and AU)!!
