Yes, exactly. The detached telling of the story. It is random and not consistent, and a little confusing at times.  Is that how all her stories are?

I didn't flounce. I read the entire story even though the "Frig" instead of "Fridge" or "Refrigerator", was bugging me to death. But, thankfully after chapter 68 she started calling it a fridge.

I liked the plot quite a bit. Just found it hard to get into since it was so detached and a bit scrambled.

I couldn't get into her fic "Roar Like A Lion" though I really wanted to because of the summary, but I couldn't cope with her writing style back then. I really loved "Hard Hearted" though. One of my all-time-favorites. I was once again intrigued by the summary and gave it a try. No idea why I didn't mind the writing in this one.

I'll have to try that one out. I really like the summaries too. Her stories sound so good and I've seen so many people rec them. I just had a difficult time reading the one I picked up first. Hopefully it isn't like that for all of them, for me.

I had hard time with her story when I read it for the first time. With the second I loved her writing. Maybe try Me and mom fall in love with Edward. I think it wasn't that hard to read and I rec it to most of my friends and they loved it.

I read that one because of all the recs. It was okay. Her stories all seem depressing even if they aren't supposed to be. But if you like angsty things it's good. ;)

Not flounce worthy but irritating none the less.

Reading a prego Bella story and her water broke, six weeks early. Ok, sure. But, then it says that she went to the hospital and they gave her drugs and did everything they could to STOP the labor. WTF? You can't stop labor after the water has broke. As far as I know from personal experience at least, I was told that if I didn't deliver vaginally by the 24 hour mark after the water broke they were taking me in for a C-section as it becomes dangerous after that point.  Am I wrong?

I read that one, too.  It is annoying, but so many of these stories are so unrealistic when it comes to pregnancy, delivery and post-natal activities, that I've given up on expecting any degree of realism.

It has really started to annoy me that every pregnancy comes with morning sickness.  Some of us were lucky enough never to have morning sickness.

I haz a curious.  Can I have the name of the fic?  My fic pet peeve is what I call weak Edward.  He's the guy who gets pushed around and is basically everyone's lapdog.

*growls*  Nice doesn't mean doormat! And yes, you can have a strong Bella and a strong Edward in the same story.

This is the one I was talking about.  I assume it's the same one, but it may not be.

They will try to keep you from giving birth even though your waters have broken.  My first was 32/33 weeks when my waters broke heavily, I was kept on bed rest at the hospital for several days until they felt comfortable taking her. They will watch for signs of infection or distress like your temperature rising. Additional development time is considered more critical at that stage than a possibility of danger.

Yep, it was that fic.

From my personal experience, I had preclampsia  (sp?) and was put on bed rest at 30 weeks. Had my daughter at 32 weeks. I was into full labor 24 hours after my water broke. They told me if I didn't deliver within the next hour that they would take her by c-section as it was too dangerous for her that long after the water broke. She ended up being 5lbs 8oz. No NICU needed. Though she did have a very bad case of jaundice and was in one of those suit case light type things with the UV lights for a week along with daily bilirubin testing.

AGREED! I honestly didn't have any symptoms or morning sickness until the day I went to buy my pregnancy test... at 12 weeks along. And I only went to buy the test b/c my new Dr wouldn't prescribe me my meds for my cysts on my ovaries until I took a test. He feared I might have a etopic pregnancy b/c I couldn't state when my last full period was via the phone. I had been on the depo shot for so long and was told that after 2 years off of the depo shot that I couldn't conceive, so I never kept track anymore. Low and behold, I was freaking pregnant. Shocked the hell out of me. LOL

Oh, fic pregnancies are one of my pet peeves too!  :D

Honestly, at least half of the fic babies should be dead...

I start to skim when the author says that all their knowledge about pregnancies/deliveries is from TV shows, lol.
Why elaborate something you have no idea about?

But after 3 pregnancies and years of moderating at a Natural Parenting forum, I cringe at many stuff that is written.

Ughhhhhhh I just spent hours trying to make my way through Boookworm Baby's "Everlasting" which seemed really cool with the AU twist on immortality. Not vampires, but immortal nonetheless. I'm halfway through the story where the big reveal comes and they're explaining that they're all really old and have been around for more than a century and Edward's demons are put on the table and dumb teenage Bella has no sense of self preservation just like Twilight book Bella.

Why I'm raging
Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.

Just flounced because I am not here for a teenage girl being used that way. Plus she was sexually assaulted by James earlier in the story and was suffering from panic attacks but she's all cool and happy to be with Edward after that?! No no.

Wow, thanks for the warning. I had this one on to read list but had no clue it was like that.

Maybe I'm just over reacting but it was just such a strange reaction and the events that led up to it were just a mess. It's well written and mirrors Twilight in the sense that these people are immortal and of course there's self flagellation on Edward's part because he's this tortured soul that feels like he has the world on his shoulders over events he couldn't control BUT, he's a giant butthole to Bella for the first half of the story because he's trying to prevent her from loving him, and we find out why he's this giant butthole and everything is a-okay. There's no apologies made on his part, and Bella is just...content with the situation?

I skipped ahead towards the end to see if the plot changed and there was another Twilight twist. Bella turns out to be like every other teenager with raging hormones and wants to get it on with her boyfriend, but Edward doesn't want to demean her with his kinky sexual appetite.  ::) Now he wants to be a gentleman and treat her like a lady. UGH!

There are so many fics like that - Edwards a real A-hole and doesn't have many (if any) redeeming qualities about him but Bella and every other woman want him.
At least if he's gonna be an A-hole make sure that at some point during the fic he works towards redemption, so there's a real point about why Bella would want him other than his looks.  >:( >:(

I can't figure out why Bella is attracted to him at all.  Everyone in this fic is pissing me off.  Why do I keep reading the updates?

That is one of my bigger pet peeves in general.  For the most part, what I'd find generally socially unacceptable I find unacceptable in fic as well.  There are so many people who excuse things because it's Edward and Bella or their pairing of choice.
One of the rare few....

Thats why I like non canon stories  ;) Bella can actually dump Edward and find someone better  >:D

There were too many E/B stories where I so wanted her to throw him out... one of the reasons I avoid angst...
