Preggers Bella
« Reply #2081 on: November 23, 2012, 04:41 PM »
Can someone tell me what's up with all these pregnant teenage Bellas?! This silly (Sex on Fire) fic that I'm reading, 17 year old Bella is dating 22 year old Edward, she's on the pill, they also use condom as he wants to be ultra careful but yet still Bella ends up pregnant!! And no he's not a vampire! Is it a trend I'm not aware of? Are teenage pregnancies suddenly fashionable? I get it, you know, unplanned pregnancies happen, but come on!! Almost every HS/teenage fic I've read recently the Bella has managed to get her self knocked-up. Maybe that silly MTV show is to blame, 16 and Pregnant? Is that what it's called?

Astro2009 is definitely right.  I knew what Duskri was referring to as soon as I saw your post, but she beat me to it :)

Great catch for someone who doesn't even read Jasper/Bella :-*.

While we're talking about Duskri, which fic of hers were you reading?  She has a Jasper/Bella trilogy that she pulled.  I think it was called the French trilogy, but it consisted of Amour, Respirer and Devine.

Oh Awesome, thank you!

Right now I'm reading Devine...and I really LOVE it.

That said, I don't think I'll read the last two of the trilogy, I skipped and read a tiny amount of both (after I saw something online) and I don't think I like the direction she took (I haven't delved into the Emmett/Bella pairing yet, not ready for that one since I always picture him as a brother. And he most def'y talks to her as his sister in Devine). I could be way off since I haven't even read them yet, though lol

Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.

What did you think of the last two in that series?

I'll read just about anything - my last fic (A Glimpse of Light in Eternal Darkness) is testament to that!
I have a preference for E/B, but so long as it's well written, I don't mind what pairing it is.

The French trilogy can be found here:

I actually haven't read either the Deadly Sins or the French trilogy - I stumbled across the term Deadly Sins last night when I was scroling through my 4700+ downloaded fics and somehow it just clicked when I saw Lucylu's post.

It drives me nuts when someone rec's/mentions fics that they love but only give half the information. I'm OCD that I can't just let it go, it drives me crazy until I hunt it down lol

Perhaps we should start a group for OCD flounce pussies that are addicted to Twilight FF.

I only made it about half way through the second.  But not because I didn't like it (and I have no problems with Bella/Emmett) but because one of my favourite authors finished a fic and I had to go read it and then I got distracted and never went back to it.  :embarassed:

I blame antibiotics! Every time someone sneezes, the doctor prescribes antibiotics.

Of course, girls old enough to be on the pill obviously aren't told not to mix the pill with antibiotics.

And obviously, in FF world, even when you're so sick you need antibiotics, you still can't resist the horizontal mambo with Edward!

ps - Girls don't get themselves knocked up! It takes two to tango (or mambo!).
If girls got themselves knocked up, I'd have about 50 kids by now!

Is The Weight of Words (You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login) worth the read? I don't want to start a fic that long and have to flounce halfway through.

Also, I'm pretty sure if contraception works as poorly in real life as it seems to be in fanfic, the world would be triple the population it is now ;)

If/When I get into the Emmett pairing I'll def'y come back to the other two in this series :)

I actually just loaded a few Peter/Bella and an Alastair/Bella fic onto my Kindle but I'm not sure about them yet? Have you done this pairing also?

Weight of Words is good but it slows down in the middle then picks up again. It's angsty but sweet. I flounced though because I lost interest with some other fics I was reading at the time. I haven't read the sequel *shrugs*

Do you know of this story please? :)  I am sorry to do this to you

I can't remember the name of a fic and need some help finding it. Here is what I remember about it.: Bella is pregnant, works at a diner for Billy. He sends food home with her all the time because she has little money. I think she loses her home and ends up staying at Alice's highrise. Edward shows up and ends up helping care for her as he is a doctor. They end up together.

Point taken! Almost every HS/teenage fic I've read recently Edward and Bella get preggers!.

I wonder if that trend started around the time that Breaking Dawn first came out. I mean, a teenager getting pregnant to a 107 year old vamp? How inspiring! *waves sarcasm sign*

I don't mind the Pregnantella/Daddyward fics (*cringes at the use of these terms*), but prefer when they are a older...and should know better!!!

I particularly liked Under The Apple Tree by Danieller123 and Coming To Terms by GinnyW.

A H/S preggers fic that was pretty good is A Rite Of Passage by caracol. It also has a sequel: The Way Back.

I just finished this one.. I really really liked her fic Awaken so this was was an easy choice for me anyone else read "Snowbound" by Edwards Eternal? You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
Bella and Edward are both lost and alone and running from their own stormy lives. What happens when their worlds literally collide? Can they help each other overcome the past or will they be torn apart like the storm that pulsates around them?"

I liked it. Not angsty a sweet Edward.

Tami

Somehow I got behind and though it was only 3 pages here? I think I missed 10 pages on the other one.

I really liked The Weight of Words, but then Georgeygrl introduced me to splooge. Not actual splooge - just the term.  And yes it is exactly what it sounds like ;)

Sploooooogggggeeeeee!!! LOL!!! It is a great term for something that is well, not so great :P

I've been downloading all these Bella other fics, but I'm not quite ready to read tthem yet ;D

I enjoyed Snowbound.  It's a sweet, easy read.  I generally prefer more angst, but sometimes I need something nice and soft.  This definitely fit the bill :)
