Has anyone read Volition by RochelleAllison and can give an opinion on it? I see it recc'd all the time but I'm not sure if I'd like it.

Has anyone read Volition by RochelleAllison and can give an opinion on it? I see it recc'd all the time but I'm not sure if I'd like it.

I have loved everything written by RochelleAllison. I'm still stuck on my iPhone with patchy 1990 service (honestly, I'm leaning out of the bedroom window as I type and if I face north, I have no service at all!) but if Volition is the IRA story, give it a go.

It seemed authentic to me (I don't have a lot if experience in this area but am very proud of my Irish heritage and am fascinated by Ireland's sad history - bawled through a tour of Kilmainham Gaol in Dublin) and RochelleAllison is an amazing writer - plot, character development, SPaG - all are really well done.

I rec it highly (I just had to retype that 6 times because my damn phone wanted to say "irreconcilable"!).

Oh wow! Having a lot of family that were in Ireland around that time and others that still live there now I didn't want to read anything that was unrealistic, but if it comes that highly recommended I'll read it next. And Astro, I appreciate your posting efforts - not sure how I'd survive without internet for more than a couple of days!

Just finished reading Broken Arrow by TwistingTwilight which completed today (You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login) It was a good read overall but some parts made my heart ache, thankfully the angst isn't drawn out for ages.

I have made it onto a real 'puter!

Oh - keyboard that types what I want to type and not the stupid button my fat little fingers hit beside what I want to type - how I have missed you!

I am feeling a little Mission Impossible/Charlie's Angels - ish, and need to remember to delete browsing history so my "hacker" dad doesn't have a coronary if he were to discover the sites I visit (no, he's definitely not a prude - he is a non-reader and can't uderstand how I can waste time with a good book!

I admit that the iphone saga is driving my batty, but hanging outside the bedroom window to get enough service to actually use my phone really isn't too much of an effort - especially when this is the view from said bedroom window:

ETD: The reason I hijacked my mum's computer today is because I had over 300 emails coming into my phone this morning and had to go into the server to delete them. They were all update alerts from TrueEnglishRose (You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login) who I discovered on TWCS and then started to follow on FF. It appears that she decided to post ALL the chapters of some of her fics this morning - including 77 chapter, 122 chapter and 82 chapter drabbles!

I loved All The Fun of The Fair (You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login) and look forward to reading the others - but 300+ emails in an hour!

RDMickey might be able to help more on this but from what I've seen you really can't directly respond to a question asked. At least I haven't figured it out, but I don't do much posting. I just look through all the blogs on my dash.

As far as posting a note, when you're on your dash, you see your pic along the top with the different options, text, quote, pic, video, etc? I believe you just want to hit the text button and type what you're wanting to post.

To post a new note, hit the text button. But only those that follow you will ever see it. If someone asks you a question personally, you will see a reply option. Mostly on tumblr though, people just reblog and say their comment then.

So sorry to hear that you had to see the "underbelly" (unfortunately, the term so fits that experience) of Twific. I totally know how you feel. I quit FB after seeing too many authors, including popular authors, bad mouth each other and their stories and then the fanatical fangirls get on the bashing train. It left a bad taste in my mouth and clouded my reading for a while too. I hope that all of here will be able to give you the pick-me-up to kick all that negativity back to the hellmouth it came from so you can enjoy some good fics or at least some good conversation here at pts

I'm so glad for this great PTS crew of fellow twilight fanfic addicts who actually like to discuss and recommend stories and even when we don't all agree, we can still respect each other's opinion. So, I just want to say THANK YOU to everyone here because you further my enjoyment of reading.

Have never been to chat rooms or become a member of a site were you post opinions until this one. I have heard so many horror stories out there and was very afraid to actually join PTS, let alone post a comment. My gosh, i would sometimes click on those celeb pictures at People or other gossip sites and the comments of people really shocked me. how could they be so mean, insulting or outright rude...making assumptions on people they don't even know but they think they have the right to make super cruel or below the belt comments about them simply bec they are a celeb. I have been fortunate that i haven't encountered nastiness in FB, yet. i only follow the fanfiction hunter group moderated by Jkyll. I also joined the ceo and famouswards groups but hardly go there. i've never posted anything in these groups. Maybe because i quickly skip or gloss over any post i see that is nasty and just focus on those with blue hyperlinks to go to their recs so my FB experience has been pleasant so far. I "stupidly" forgot i only had 1 facebook account and it showed the real me when i joined but i don't regret befriending the 4 ladies from here

This is why i love all the gals here. We have a difference in opinions/tastes in fanfics, but we all accept our differences and show respect to each other while still keeping our sense of humor. Am soooo happy to be part of this particular topic and group of ladies. You are indeed the best computer friends i can ever find and have.

I did see a slightly nasty one on the Fanfic Hunters site. A couple of authors had a disagreement about the fact we were sharing their stories and requested the stories not be shared.

My only comment was that mostly I downloaded for personal use, as I love to read on my Kindle. However, I did point out to one author that her FFnet bio said nothing about not sharing fics. She was actually nice about my comment and updated her bio to state she didn't mind personal use downloads, but would prefer we refer people to the FFnet site rather than share.

It probably would have been nothing but one author kept posting. The whole thing got deleted. And she apologized to the moderators after. I didn't really get why it got so blown up though.

I really appreciate how we can discuss things here without any of the nastiness. Though I think that is mostly because we all tend to agree about a lot of these things. And the things we don't agree about *cough Jasper/Bella stories cough* we politely ~~harass~~ um ~~ignore~~ ~~tease~~ oh heck , everyone here has a sense of humor, thank goodness....

I can barely remember the original Garrett (*sigh* I suffer from Edward-induced memory loss when other characters get mentioned and STILL haven't watched BD2!) but after Dusty and now Pound of Flesh, I have a little Garrett-crush developing. I'm really glad the PoF Garrett is of legal age because the Dusty Garrett just made me feel all sorts of dirty-old-woman-ish!

Perhaps I need a nice E/G fic...

So I'm reading "We Come To Life Beneath the Stars" by Lillybellis. It's been on my TBR list forever and someone mentioned it the other day. So far, it's pretty good but I can put it down. This means my ADD may result in an accidental flounce. Sigh...I think I have about 6 or 7 in process now. Not WIPs. Completed stuff that I've started & will eventually finish as long as I remember I was reading them. $:-\$

No, you have to finish it! It gets a bit slow around the middle but it picks up again. It's definitely a worthwhile read. Speaking of which I did look at the author profile you linked, but 77 chapters and 9,000 words does not my idea of a story make. Drabbles kill me. They can be okay as a WIP because you get frequent updates but when trying to read them as a complete story it's a nightmare, especially on Kindle.

Caged updated! Anyone else reading it as a WIP have thoughts about it?
Also, I'm still disturbed by the bestiality story mentioned over the 152 thread. I have no idea about the circumstances surrounding it, but in any case
