Thanks for thwifanfictionrecs recommendation! I'll check that out...   thanks for the links too!   I've googled some of the terms "canon" and "OOC" etc that I wasn't familiar with.

I would LOVE a thread/post (thread really) for all the terms and abbreviations.

Do we have anything like that here? Because I'm not always sure about AH vs Canon vs OOC either. I always just tag as either AH or vamps, lol!

I don't think so.  They are pretty evenly better and worse.  I think if it bothered her, she wouldn't allow the fanfic.  But then again, Fanfic has helped make her the 80 million or so she has gotten from all the books and movies etc....

I'm pissed off that when I dream I never dream in franchise....

I googled "canon fanfic" and "OOS fanfic" and found some helpful sites with what things mean. :)

I've been reading m/m romances for years, but oddly enough, I haven't read much twilight slash yet. It's not that I don't think I'll like it, but after reading m/m almost exclusively for a couple of years, I need a break.

But what are some of the better slash ones you would recommend for when I do get to that point?

I read one AH Jasper/Bella fic a few weeks ago, that I really enjoyed, but I've already forgotten what it was called, maybe you can help? I think Bella was dating Edward, but they broke up. Jasper was dating Alice, when he joined the army. She broke up with him while he was in the army, but he never told Bella. Bella was a vet and moved to a family ranch in Montana. Jasper came to her after he got out of the army, and they ended up together.

LOL - I haven't read that one!!  Might have to search for it :)

Southern Charm by Meikela and Over The Top by Starfish422 are both awesome.  But, if you want a longer fic, Mergers and Acquisitions is hands down the best I have ever read!!!

Mergers and Acquisitions by Touchstone67  You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

When Edward pays for a night of harmless fun, he didn't expect to get the purchase of a lifetime. Will his nights in Seattle change his whole life in Chicago? Full length story for the second place winner in the Slash/Backslash Contest. Rated M, J/E

It's not marked complete, but I think it's just waiting on an epi.  The actual story itself is complete.
You held out your hand, and I took it without stopping to make sense of what I was doing. For the first time in almost a century, I felt hope.

Found it! It's Home At Last by heavyinfinity. It's fairly short, only 24 PDF pages, but I really liked it.

What do I read that I never expected?  Slash!!  I'm not even sure how that happened.  I think I was reading Southern Charm and didn't even realize it was slash, but was enjoying the story so much that I just kept with it.  LOL.

Not generally a huge fan of slash, although every once in a while I'll stumble across something (usually a one-shot), and I'll think "Oh, that was good, even if it was slash."  Or there will be some slash in a fic that is mostly E/B.  I find myself more accepting of slash in my fic if it's a bi-sexual situation.  Maybe I just need to be able to identify with the character having s.e.x and I can only do that if the character is female.  One good one is Guinea Pig in which Edward and Jasper are teaching Bella how to give a good BJ.  You are not allowed to view links. *snort* you win :)

I refuse to give that woman any of my money *shakes head* why would anyone when you can read it for free as a fanfic? I mean it's the same story just different names.

As hard as I tried, I just couldn't make it through the FSOG fanfic.  Maybe a receipt will motivate me to keep reading.  I'm cheap and patient.  I'm just going to wait until the leftover books show up at my local Dollar Tree for the wonderful everyday low price of $1.  I think I'll break out my penny jar for that purchase.  >:D

Somebody was looking for a fic with a no strings attached type theme earlier.  This story starts out that way.

Not a fan of slash either. Not. At. All. I can't get my head around Edward in that kind of scenario, but I've just read your recommendation and it wasn't too bad but I agree with you I was able to enjoy it only because Bella was involved. Happy to add similar fanfics to my TBR list.....

LOL! In Twilight Fanfic world AH is AU! AU is anything that isn't like the original, in this case, vamps.  What you want to read is canon it sounds like.  I think Dark Side of the Moon is canon.  I've heard it is very angsty as well.  As an angst avoider, I haven't read it.

It is still on FFnet You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

Question for everyone. What was the first Twilight Fan Fiction that you read? Which one popped your "Fanfic Cherry"?

Mine was The Ex Factor by AngelAtTwilight

Popped my FF cherry with Master of the Universe by SnowqueensIcedragon. And bugger it, if I wasn't put in hospital right after I began reading - where of course, I couldn't get on FF.net or Twilighted. Thought I was totally fecked; but lucky for me someone mentioned it to Icy, and she began sending me updates by email. My friends printed them out and brought them to hospital for me.

My best friends in the world (don't ever tell them I said that) are a set of Irish twin brothers I grew up with and think themselves the older brothers I never asked for (the eejits). Anyway, I spent a wee bit of time unconscious during that particular hospital holiday (my own personal euphemism) and they had quite a laugh reading the updates aloud trying to embarrass most the medical staff.  ::)

Though I know many people disparage her and her books, Icy/Erica has always been perfectly lovely to me - even when she puts her mum hat on to make sure I do as the doctor's say. I count myself fortunate to have become friends with this incredible lady, who has such a kind heart; and am rather proud of all she has accomplished. Not to mention, I quite like having a book written by a friend sitting on my bookshelf. And the proverbial cherry on top - I enjoy reading it.

Cheers!

(Yeah, for anyone wondering - I spend quite a few months during the year in hospital, as I have an inoperable blood clot in my brain)

I have a confession to make; I have been distracted from The Elusive Mr Cullen..Yes, distracted! Not flounced! (Oh, OK, maybe a little tinny weeny temporary flounce) By Fourteen by CrimsonMarie. I'm kinda loving this story.

avag, thank you for your lovely thoughts. You are so very kind.

And no worries. Honestly, I'm quite fortunate, as I am the only person known to have survived with a blood clot located in this portion their brain. Though I may spend a good bit of time in hospital dealing with all the various side effects and complications; I'm at home with my family/friends the remainder of the time. Add in, the amazing people I've met online over the past few yrs, when by all accounts I should not be here, and how could I help but feel fortunate??

In addition, I also have the incredibly humbling honour of being able to offer doctor's from all over the opportunity to examine a living brain, with some slightly wonky issues they normally only see at autopsy. Who knows perhaps it will lead them down a path to discovery; and that possibility alone is worth all the pain.

My life has truly been blessed. Cheers!

If you want stories where Edward in a vamp, then I'd suggest:

Out of Sight, Out of Mind by Simaril You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!   I started reading this last night and absolutely love it!  I didn't realize how much I missed these characters!    The writing is REALLY good!

So, this one is called "canon" then since all the characters are the same?   I definitely prefer Edward as a vampire, but I guess I'll branch out someday!

Just caught the end of Vampires Suck - I think I love this movie.  The girl who plays Becca does a great job - frankly, she would have made a better Bella IMO.

The wolves are much more fun also.  :D :D :D :D :D :D
