This is true, with fanfic you can find something to suit just about every taste. From sweet YA reads to spicy romance, to extra hot, angst, comedy, horror, you name it.

I've been quite surprised to find myself liking several non-canon pairings of Jasper and Bella stories.

Speaking of which, ladies, what is something you have found yourself liking that you never expected to enjoy? I NEVER thought I'd go for Bella with anyone but Edward, but I've loved several B/J stories, and keep getting more to read. I never thought I'd be so into Jerkward, but I've loved several of those too.

Did someone mention Jasper/Bella? *bounces*  My favourite pairing!!  I've read pretty much all of the vamp pairings, but haven't really started into any wolf pack fics yet.  I'm sure I'll get there eventually ;)

What do I read that I never expected?  Slash!!  I'm not even sure how that happened.  I think I was reading Southern Charm and didn't even realize it was slash, but was enjoying the story so much that I just kept with it.  LOL.
You held out your hand, and I took it without stopping to make sense of what I was doing. For the first time in almost a century, I felt hope.

Thanks everybody!  I appreciate the replies!

I looked at the two CIWA pdf files that I downloaded and one of them is 600 pages and the other is 763, but I think it's the same story...   The longer one just has outtakes at the end and various quotes and poems throughout whereas the 600 page one looks more book like in format.

Almost any of the suggested fics on this thread would be good, but the first thing you need to decide is if you want to stay closer to the original and read an AU (Alternate Universe) story with vampires, of if you want AH (All Human).  Depending on the answer to that, you can narrow down your selection.  The three you have mentioned are all AH
I think I would prefer AU if that is the closest to the original and the eventually branch out to AH.      And the "angsty-er" the better IMO!   :o

*snort* nope. Rob is a beautiful, beautiful man, but the movies are horrible, IMO, and just get worse with every movie. I swear, KStew just gets more and more awkward, and the directing is just awful. I liked the first movie, the second was ok, I barely made it through the third, and still haven't watched all of BD pt 1.

This is one movie franchise that I can't WAIT to get a do-over! (but I'd still like Robert Pattinson as Edward)
I waited for BD to come out on DVD & have only watched it once.  I just don't like how they do it all.  It's like they take the parts I like and change them to make them more "exciting" or whatever.

I hate movies from books.  I'm not a big KStew fan either.  I only watch these to drool over appreciate RPattz.  I have to forget they have anything whatsoever to do with Twilight.  Oh wait, they don't have anything to do with Twiltight.  Hmm.  Maybe they are actually a form of bad fanfiction?

Yes the 1st was kind of sweet and had an innocent naivety to it...then the $$$ signs started flashing before everyone's eyes and everything else went to shit.....Another question. Do you think Myers feels embarrassed that a lot of the Twific authors are better writers then her?

Hi everybody!    I'm trying to decide what to read for my first twific and discovered Clipped Wing and Inked Armor via one of the discussion boards on Amazon.   Somehow my google searches ended up leading me here.

Is there a general consensus on which one should be the first one to read?   I have heard that CIWA is really long, but I don't mind since I like detail!  :) I also saw some people over there recommending Emancipation Proclamation and wasn't sure which one I should start.

Also, I found a PDF for CIWA by googling, but I think the file size is different from the one that is available in another thread here on the board. (You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login)   Trying to make sure I have the right version downloaded before I start reading.    Does anyone know what the file size should be, or how many pages?

Either of these wonderful stories would be good, but I think I like CW&IA more. The problems are more about the characters and with EP there are a lot of problems coming from outside the couple, as it is involves the Mafia and slavery.  Very intense stuff.  Both very long and very good.  Both are worth the read, no matter what you choose first.

It would seem if you got them off this board that they would be good copies.   Someone usually catches if there is a problem with a file.

File sizes can be different depending on which downloader was used and whether or not there are pictures, etc.  I don't think there are any 'wrong' versions out there so you should be fine.

Everyone has different tastes so it's really hard to recommend fics to others.  I loved CW&IA, but it took me about 4 tries before I was able to finish EP *shrugs*.

I don't think I've heard anyone complain about Wide Awake (although I didn't like the epilogue).  It's a great place to start.

All of those fics are very angsty, though.  If you like angst then you're good to go.  If not, then I'm sure we can come up with some other suggestions for you!

Right?! The only decent thing to come out of the whole sorry mess is RPattz. Don't get me started on KStew, we'll be here all night! OR morning as it's 02.02 GMT!

Thank you!  That's what I was thinking...     I'll go with the longer one that I got here that has the outtakes.

I also just realized that I said I hadn't read any fanfic before...   I did read FSOG after I found out it was based on B/E originally.   I know a lot of people didn't like those, but I did!

Good point about the different file sizes! I hadn't thought about that.

Thanks for the Wide Awake suggestion...   I'm going to go see if I can find the file in that other thread because I can definitely appreciate lots of angst!   :)

LOL! In Twilight Fanfic world AH is AU! AU is anything that isn't like the original, in this case, vamps.  What you want to read is canon it sounds like.  I think Dark Side of the Moon is canon.  I've heard it is very angsty as well.  As an angst avoider, I haven't read it.

Then I would recomment Sacrifices by Enthralled.  Summary:  When Edward left Bella, he did so in the hopes that she would have a happy, human life. What would happen if she did just that, but it turned out that things didn't go as either of them planned?

While it is not complete, it ends in a good place, and you can tell what the ending was going to be.  Here is the link:  You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

I don't think so.  They are pretty evenly better and worse.  I think if it bothered her, she wouldn't allow the fanfic.  But then again, Fanfic has helped make her the 80 million or so she has gotten from all the books and movies etc....

I've been reading m/m romances for years, but oddly enough, I haven't read much twilight slash yet. It's not that I don't think I'll like it, but after reading m/m almost exclusively for a couple of years, I need a break.

But what are some of the better slash ones you would recommend for when I do get to that point?

I read one AH Jasper/Bella fic a few weeks ago, that I really enjoyed, but I've already forgotten what it was called, maybe you can help? I think Bella was dating Edward, but they broke up. Jasper was dating Alice, when he joined the army. She broke up with him while he was in the army, but he never told Bella. Bella was a vet and moved to a family ranch in Montana. Jasper came to her after he got out of the army, and they ended up together.

For Kindle, always download in mobi.  Then you can either email it to your kindle address (use the free one if you have a 3G Kindle so you don't get charged) or you can transfer it to the docs folder on the Kindle using the USB cord from your computer.

If you send it directly from Flagfic, you have to put flagfic as an approved email address on Amazon under manage my kindle

I guess I should have asked if you have a regular Kindle or a Kindle Fire.  I think with the fire you may be able to download directly from flagfic.  I can on my Nook Tablet.
