I have a headache. Should have not taken a peek to see...what a trainwreck this was. The storyline was very interesting to me so i tried to plod along (can't flounce ).  I was trying to reach that point to see how Jax and Kendall meet again and he finds out he's a dad. I skimmed all the right hand pages, stop to read in more detail if the part looked interesting (only to be disabused of that notion after the scene ends  ). A little over 600 pages before they actually see each other. Learning the secret was the last few pages. 1,110 pages of agony...was this even edited? Simple spelling/grammar errors were so rampant, it was soooo annoying. Normally, am more forgiving and don't mind SPaGs, but this was a real doozy. I didn't want to leave a bad review at goodreads so my apologies for ranting here. Shocked to see some rated it as 4 or 5 stars (perhaps a relative, friend or paid reviewer? Sorry for being bitchy ). In all honesty, i wanted to give it 1 star. But, i think of the time, effort and guts for an author to write, so i gave it 2 stars. I already deleted book 2, no longer wanna know what happens to them.

Follow Rickell's warning, specially if you don't have the flounce gene. Stay the hell away from this one.

You can't say I didn't try to warn you - after all, my kids are only 6 and 10 and I said they could have edited it better.
I really liked the storyline too, but it was like one of those fics where the summary grabs you only for the actual story to be a huge let down. 
It was fics and books like this that created my flounce gene!

How in the H E L L do woman type all day with long finger nails???  I have spent more time having to go back and correct things that are misspelled because of this!  I know what you are thinking, I should go cut the stupid things, and I agree, but it just got me to wondering how it is done. 

OK, sorry, I think I have finally gone completely over the bend.  Anyone have the number to the men in the white coats???

 

I know I've been gone for a long while. Unfortunatelly, life right now is hectic (although not bad ) and I simply have no time for Internet this days. Still, I still read fanfiction, just not so much.

So I was heartbroken to discover that FlagFic and FanFiction Downloader DO NO LONGER work for FanFiction.net. When did this happen? (Probably while I was all over AO3...) RIP FanFiction.net, I simply do not have the time to constantly be online just to read another chapter.

Is the ff plugin for calibre not working either? I haven't tried to use it in a few days, but it was working last week. If you've not, you might want to make sure it's up to date. Assuming you use the plug in, lol!

The Calibre plug in is still working for me. I used it to update Silverblossoms, Cullen's Lolita Crush for chapter 2.

I used to do the long gel nails thing and I work on a computer at work all day. I used the tips of my nails to type and not the pads of my fingers. I didn't have quite the same speed, but the accuracy was still good.


Picking up coins with them is a B*tch though....LOL. I ended up getting rid of them. To expensive to maintain.

FFDL still works. You just need to check for updates all the time. The one in Calibre still works too!

I just double checked and it downloaded Me and Mom fall in love with Edward Cullen with no problems. This is the stand alone program, not the Calibre plugin. Version is 0.8.3.

I don't use the Calibre plugin, it has ruined three or four of my favorite storied so far (mainly because they got pulled) but I will have to try it again now. (Also, the mass download feature was kin of addictive and not really helpful.)

Still, I will dearly miss Flag... I hate FF.net with a passion right now!
