I just finished this story too and I really appreciate the download Ella!

I am still having a terrible time trying to get some of the other download programs you guys have suggested since the FFN/Flag debacle.  I have always been able to work my way around a computer, but for some reason I seem to be brain dead when I try this.  I guess this is another "senior moment" as they like to say…

 :33:
No problem.  You can always try searching in my Google drive folder. I download pretty much all the new stuff.  I may miss a few things. But not usually the E/B stories.

That's a good tip actually, the best way to cool down in the summer in NY is to get on the water, I remember doing that Staten Island ferry crossing numerous times in my young Uni Student days. Now I'm a member of Soho House, they have a pool on the roof of their NY branch :P :D

I'm totally ignoring all of Drotuno's A/Ns, they're just....nuts!

Agree, had no desire to pay a lot just to go near the statue of liberty. Riding the Staten ferry to see the statue was just right on our budget and we get a boat ride as well!

Yup, i ignore A/Ns most of the time unless there are recs  :P

One thing that I don't remember seeing mentioned…

While in Seattle, don't forget Pikes Place Market.   ;D

Hey Ladies! I step out a few days and there are so many pages. Never read any of the Sookie Stackhouse or the Vampire Diaries' books but I've watched the first few seasons of both TB and tVD, though not enough to stick with them. One of these days I'll watch everything online... I stopped watching TV about a year ago, so I have to catch up on Supernatural...I love them boys...yummmm.

Astro, if you want to see the Statue of Liberty but not actually go there, a great cheat is to just catch the Staten Island Ferry there and back. It's super cheap as it's public transportation and takes you right by it on the water--great for picks, but you don't get to walk around the bottom or anything. I did something similar when I visited Washington State (and Seattle) by taking a day trip to Victoria, Canada. While Victoria is a beautiful (English) island with a quaint feel (we visited the museum), you are quite likely to see whales in the harbor on your trek so there's no need to make a separate outing. Besides the nice pics taken during the travel, the one we booked had an all-you-can-eat Salmon dinner buffet that was fantastic!

Fic wise, I've been completely engrossed in drotuno's Angel series. I started last Wednesday and I'm almost finished with the third book. I really like these characters, (though she does write long A/Ns Demaris). So much is wrapped up I'm wondering what the fourth book has in store for me, but I'm looking forward to it with bells on. Whoohoo!

P.S. Thanks Ella for posting the link to that pirate story. It sounded good until I saw the link was for FFN, so thanks!
Well, as long as you don't mind ePubs, they are there.  But you have to use the Search function to find anything.  I can't even get it to go past the A's.  So the search works best.

I loved the Angel series. And Kimkimkim, no they aren't angels, it is a different version of Twilight as if Edward didn't come back for 2 years after New Moon.  But it is really great.  They go to college, back to high school, to England.... Yeah, lots of fun.  :)

Yes, I also like to hope that maybe they are just down to earth folks that don't need to show off with fancy vehicles.  With that being said, I really like cars and I guess if I was super rich I'd drive something more fun.   But, to each his own, right?   At least Rob's blends in but I'd think everyone would know that was KS immediately.  Can't be many of those driving around LA.

I'm always looking for a good famousward --- have you read The Man Who Can't Be Moved, Virgins & Villains or Rules of Hollywood?  I've got all those on my soonTBR list but haven't gotten around to them yet.    I did read Faking It (by spanglemaker9) and Sexy Silk and really liked both of those.

I read Virgins & Villains and thought it was really good. It is long, but I felt it was still a good read.

This summary reminds me of johanna lindsey's The gentle rogue. She has this Mallory series that I absolutely loved. Must have read this book about 8 times already, love James Mallory! I thought this was the best one of all the Mallory books.

Huh… I guess I am the only woman in the world that can say that Fabio just doesn't do it for me…

Now, replace him with The Pretty, well, I may be old, but I am not dead!   >:D

Lol, during the time i read this, Fabio was the most commonly used male model for historical romances, which i was very much into at that time. With no internet then, you make do with what's on the paperback.  :) Given the list here, no wonder he became top of mind then (didn't realize he was on so many covers!)

You're not alone, jackief! He doesn't do it for me either...I like men more lean than bulked up. Like The Pretty from his Twilight days.

Same here.  Love it and I think we owe it all to Astro   :-*

I think we owe it to Anchalee - or, if memory serves, the fic she read (in which Bella used a diva cup) that prompted Anchalee to comment and change all our lives.

Thank you all for your travel tips - keep 'em coming! I think I could spend a month in each city and still not see everything.
LA is just a stopover for a few hours both coming and going so won't see anything but the airport, but I've been there twice before.

Heyyyy!

End of Sept/beginning of Oct is usually good. 75-80 and unless we have a hurricane, it's relatively dry. Or Apr/May.
Astro - Prepare to be warm!  ^-^

It won't be any warmer or more humid than I'm used to here - although I'll be coming from our winter, so it might take a few days to acclimate.

My travel-mate is our delicate English rose - laurendeplume. I'll be laughing into my iced tea!  :D

Nope - not the only woman - he's never appealed to me. And I think the Pretty would get me going even if I was dead!

Speaking of the pretty, there was another photo of him driving last night. You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login Poor boy can't go anywhere and hiding behind the visor mustn't be the safest way to get around.

No jeep this time though - he was in a Dodge. Either he has a massive car collection or lots of friends that lend their cars, but the paps get him every time regardless of what he's driving.

Let's just hope he doesn't start riding a motorbike - as sexy as they are, they scare the bejeebus out of me!

Decoy series by K.t. Fisher

I have, however, started some seriously bad books - I cannot believe that some of these have actually been published.
I started the Decoy series by K.T. Fisher tonight and didn't make it past the second chapter it was that bad.  My children could have done a better job of editing.

I have a headache. Should have not taken a peek to see...what a trainwreck this was. The storyline was very interesting to me so i tried to plod along (can't flounce :-\).  I was trying to reach that point to see how Jax and Kendall meet again and he finds out he's a dad. I skimmed all the right hand pages, stop to read in more detail if the part looked interesting (only to be disabused of that notion after the scene ends  ;D). A little over 600 pages before they actually see each other. Learning the secret was the last few pages. 1,110 pages of agony...was this even edited? Simple spelling/grammar errors were so rampant, it was soooo annoying. Normally, am more forgiving and don't mind SPaGs, but this was a real doozy. I didn't want to leave a bad review at goodreads so my apologies for ranting here. Shocked to see some rated it as 4 or 5 stars (perhaps a relative, friend or paid reviewer? Sorry for being bitchy :(). In all honesty, i wanted to give it 1 star. But, i think of the time, effort and guts for an author to write, so i gave it 2 stars. I already deleted book 2, no longer wanna know what happens to them. ;D

Follow Rickell's warning, specially if you don't have the flounce gene. Stay the hell away from this one.

I'm so not going to read this one then as I wouldn't say I flounce - I leave it and then go back to finish it really bugs me if I don't, no matter how crappy the book or fic is.  :banghead: :banghead: :-[

It is a lot as described in the description…  Edward and Jasper, home from the Civil War, Emmett is Edward's son.  Bella isn't really a prisoner, but she was put where he found her by a shady relative.  Edward has been with her, sexually of course, before, but when he comes back again, he finds her sick and decides to bring her home.  That starts a chain reaction involving this and the shady relative that left her where he found her to begin with…

Hope that tells you some of the story without giving away too much.  I really enjoyed this story, and most of the others by Counselor, even though her stories tend to be a bit dark.   ;D

I just dawned on me, should I not have posted this here??

Just marked complete:

For me it has always been about the blood. Watching it flowing thick and crimson takes me somewhere else, to my happy place and lately I've been euphoric. Part one was my entry for the Journey into Dark and Twisted TwiFic contest, I was delighted to win joint second place judges vote, goriest award and it was personal pic for two of the six judges. Expanded to a three part story.
