This is the new thread as the other was sooo long and had lots of pages. Continuation of our wonderful discussions on Twilight Fanfiction, Books, and Life in general. But mostly Twilight fanfics... and life stuff that will get me a NOT ALLOWED statement.

It's based on your location, apparently:

I've tried changing my location to United States in ff.net setting but it still won't show what you're seeing, tricklem!

Where are you? Maybe I can trick ff.net into thinking I'm there!

I am in Canada. That is really weird that you don't see it the way that I do, but the downloader doesn't work for me on ff.net either way, so I am not sure what to make of this.

Well, I just "moved" to Canada, but it says that changes can take up to an hour to appear, so I'll have to check it in the morning.

FF DL isn't working for me either - ff.net has obviously been playing with more than the date today! Surely they'll get bored with this soon!

Using all my technical expertise (

), I'd say that means that the issue has something to do with the change in date format. I hope it's fixed soon!

I am in canada too but i am getting what Anchalee is getting. BTW Fire and ice updated 16min ago.

Ya, I get that same error. Fire & Ice just updated, but the update doesn't show up on my ff.net so I will wait and see what the date says then.

Perhaps you should clear your cache? Seems the "problem" is on your side, that the new dates won't show...

Well, I cleared the cache and then rebooted Chrome, but it didn't make any difference. Oh well, off to work.

In the forum for the ffdl was an update posted. It works and we can download again!

Oh well, it doesn't work perfectly, when the update is only hours old...

So, we'll have to wait a bit longer...

I think I figured out why we are getting two different format for the dates . If you go to the author page, you get

This doesn't help in getting the calibre to work but at least I can stop changing my location hoping to fix the date,

Just updated Fire and Ice on fictionpad on calibre. Hmmm may have to permanently switch over to Fictionpad.

I have the same date format as tricklem

And yes, i was forced to go back to ffnet, however briefly, because
1) i was getting an error when i used flag to download the latest update for Fire & Ice on fictionpad (fpad?)
2) reading a story on fpad is such a hassle (screen freezes, hard to scroll/turn page...)

3) am too anxious/impatient to read the latest chapter and this couldn't wait for flag to get "fixed"
4) was curious and had to check out the date format issue

Edit: Ddoe is right. The date format from the author page is different from the story page

Why? Because those people at ffnet are really stupid, fixing things that ain't broke

Oh ya! After my dad retired he worked at a vet so he had access to tons of rescue animals. They ended up with 3 dogs and 5 cats, I have 2 dogs and 1 cat and my sister has a dog. We all live in the city in not tiny but average/small houses

I rather have your 2 dogs and 1 cat as that's plenty, not that I don't love our animals I do but it's hard work sorting them all out.
We're lucky as we live in a small town, so even though we live in an average sized 3 bedroom semi -detached house - the farmer behind us lets us use some of his land for our goats.

I'm trying, like we all are, to organize my fics and as you know that is a chore...genre, author, alpha...etc and then I'm thinking why bother? It's like a damn job!!
Anyway, i was asked this by my BFF and I'm passing on to you guys. What is the absolute best Fic you have ever read. Despite rating, genre or length, pick one that you just could not get enough of. Can you do it? I got my top 5 and I'm narrowing down as I type. I dare you, choose a Fic!!!

If I didn't wear a coat, I'm sure an old lady on the street would tell me to put one on, that its not good for the baby. I have had older women stop me on the street if they don't think my daughter is dressed warm enough, so I'm sure they would do the same for my bump.

I'm stopped all the time by people asking if me and bump are warm enough.

One woman even said to me the other day when I told her that I was warm enough "I Know your Mother!" My reply was: "So do I!" that shut her up.

Just show's you each to their own. I found Smugward hilarious esp., when Bella was putting him straight. One of my all time favs is a non cannon The Quiet Room by givemesomevamp, there is some heavy duty internal dialogue going on in that but boy is it good. You are not allowed to view links. Okay, I downloaded the new version & I'm getting mixed results. I think FFnet hasn't updated all the dates yet. So the old ones aren't downloading properly.

And? I haven't tried updating WIPs yet. My Calibre is still working on the fix thing for my Google drive mess. I have way too many stories.

The Quiet Room is not too everyone's taste but I really enjoyed it. A friend of mine flounced because she could not get over the first chapter or so, she missed out.

Have you tried Running by Merina Green? It's the first of a trilogy, all complete and well worth a read, it is non cannon through. You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

Jimmy (the creator of the ffdl) just published another update:
