I was so exited to read the quiet room after I saw it a lot here... but it turns out it's Jasper/Bella. Or is it Edward/bella?

Hiya.  Running is brilliant,  my first non cannon was Idreamofeddy's Colliding Meteors, what a freaking great introduction.

I agree that Running is brilliant.  I've had several people tell me that they couldn't read it because it was 3rd person, but that didn't bother me in the least. 

And what's not to looove about the God of War?  Idreamofeddy's Jasper inspired so many other writers.  The story is awesome, but there are alot of SPAG errors.  In this case I was more than capable of overlooking them.  Writers like Idreamofeddy and Mortissues were able to do so much with the back story that S. Meyer created for Jasper.  I'm kinda amazed that she did so little with it.  The supporting characters in Twilight have so much wasted potential.  But hey!  That's what fan fic is for

I just started watching criminal minds and im addicted to it.
Finishing up season 3. Its funny when we see actors that now are famous doing a small part.

By the way, i finally started to use calibre. Thanx for all the tips. But im still on basic mode. Downloading one fic at a time. 

The "Get all stories on a page" thing is best for downloading communities, favorite authors or specific searches where you want pretty much all the stories.

Criminal Minds is one of my favorite shows.  I like shows that have a mystery that is solved by the end of the show.  The ones that go on and on? I get bored with really quick.

Ok it's working again.

I have a question, you know all those columns you said  to add..... well..... how do you make the stories go there. Am I making sense I hope I am because I don't know how to explain. The columns I have just have a 0 on all of them (just the ones I added).

did you look at the instructions for assigning data to files?  You have to configure the columns in the FFDL configure plugin thing.

I read and finished last night a recent rec here, Right Before My eyes, a short athleteward. it was ok.

I downloaded the above and started reading glycerine and am enjoying it! Though this Edward is really a jerk...am very interested to see how it pans out. 

And may i again profusely thank Ella for her wondrous Google drive docs.   

All the completed fics rec here i was interested in were in her drive. it was sooooo easy to download it. as most of the docs are in epub, am seriously reconsidering downloading all the other twifics i have from there bec mine are all in pdf. It really is easier to read epub than pdf.

The only thing my mind hasn't been able to wrap around yet are the page numbers. I don't notice the word count nor is it found on the pdf file. So when a pdf is just 500 pages or less, i knew i would finish it relatively quickly. But the epubs are in the thousands range  Almost didn't start glycerine bec it was close to 2,000 pages. To cure my ailment  (page no. anxiety syndrome - pnas  ) , i will download the epub version of some fics i've finished (of various lengths) so i can have a better gauge of how long it really is when in epub to manage my expectations

So about half?  There are some differences, my epub was downloaded with Calibre.  My PDF is a Flagfic.  But overall there are consistent with similar books.

Now some of the older PDFs are really hard to read.  Flags are reasonably good size type.

I like my Kindle Touch, it will tell me how much longer I have to read in time, if I continue at the same pace.  It also gives a percentage complete.

Oh, I'd love to have that feature on my Sony! But it only does pages not progress in percent or saying when I'll finish something. So maybe my next reader will be a Kindle if my Sony dies.

I noticed that there's a significant difference between the epub reader in Calibre and the ADE reader (which matches my Sony e-book-reader) when it comes to pages. F.e. I run the count pages plug-in for an epub file: if I enable the count pages plug-in for the Calibre reader it shows 800 pages. If I enable the count pages plug-in for the ADE reader it shows only 400 pages. So the Calibre reader uses other fonts and line distances and that causes twice as much pages. I set the plug-in to ADE reader. Otherwise I wouldn't even start reading such long fics.

I take that back. Blood & Glory shows as 850 pages on my Kindles table of contents.

So, that is similar to the PDF. 

I like the percentage bar on my kindle.

Nice enough, Bella is very Mary Sueish, I didn't like her and Edward's relationship (we talked about the BDSMification of lemons these days...) Nah, didn't like the story, t was like the title says, random... 

I think my problem is that it is harder to find really good vamp fics, I think there are more good AH because authors find it easier to relate to/get into the mindset of....I don't want to re-read SM's Twilight, with straight up and down Twilight Vamps physiological characteristics, so the only vamps fic I like are the ones like AWTFA where they are completely different, which means authors have to think outside the box and create, not easy to do, believably. But I have to admit when I first got into Twifics I only read AH, now I'm happy to mix it up if the vamp fic is good. At the moment I'm reading Carpe Noctem & Fiat Lux by QueenOfGrey only just finished the prologue so not sure yet if it'll be good or not, though so far so pretty good, in terms of setting the scene...

I think you're right! maybe I've read so much "stereotype" stories that It's difficult to find interesting vamp stories around. 

I do prefer AH, but I've had a pretty good run lately with Heat by Princess Rachael and Grasping Darkness by KiyaRaven.

If they are well-written, I'll read anything.

LOL - who am I kidding? Even if it's crap, I'll read it! 

I've never read Heat, as for Grasping Darkness I've read it but I remember that I didn't like this one!
