This is the new thread as the other was sooo long and had lots of pages. Continuation of our wonderful discussions on Twilight Fanfiction, Books, and Life in general. But mostly Twilight fanfics... and life stuff that will get me a NOT ALLOWED statement.

I'd send you a big slab to have with your coffee if I could. It is made with vanilla with cream cheese icing and is really delicious and I don't like icing that much.

Thanks for mentioning the Fallen Angels series... I liked most of Ward's BDB series (didn't finish all the books) so I should check that series out too. I think I remember hearing lots of people mention they liked Transcendence and I don't have that one on my list yet. Guess I need to add it!

Transcendence is unlike every other Twi fic I read, but fantastic nonetheless! But I like all of Shay's stories a lot. One of my favorite authors, because she and her stories are unpredictable. Everything can happen. Please tell us how you like it.

I had to start a second time with the Fallen Angels Series because I read the first book in between the BDB books. I hadn't expected them to be so different from the BDB books and couldn't get into them immediately. But now with distance to the Brothers they are really really good and stand alone. Each book is a little better. Book 5 is next after a little bit of Twi fic and Slash.

I have the same issue since last night. I was hoping for a FFDL plugin update this morning. But nothing yet!

And it's not only for update. I couldn't download neither. Got the same error message.

Well at least we aren't alone. Hopefully it will be corrected soon.

I also noticed that my ff.net page of favs showed a couple of stories that have updated but I never got the email notification, so that is probably when the f*ked things up again.

I need Ella's help! Or anyone that knows how to work Calibre. I want to download some stories before I go home for the holidays but the FF plug-inn is not there,and when I tried to update the plug in it won't let me it just tells me to report it.

Doesn't anyone know what that is? Your help would be greatly appreciated if you can get me to download some fics before I go home.

Finally I've found a fic which I'm finding really difficult to put down. I've read some fics I've enjoyed over the last few weeks but I could leave them for a day or two to read something else and it didn't bother me.
I was kind of skimming this when it was a WIP, so I'm so way happy that it is now complete.

Have you installed the plug in before? It's not there until you install the plug in. If you haven't installed it yet, you open calibre, and go to preferences, then plug ins (it's below advanced, bottom of the calibre window), then select get new plug ins. There a list will open, and you select the fanfiction downloader plug in from the list, and hit install.

If you've installed the plug in before and just can't find the button for it, try expanding the calibre window all the way, sometime it sticks the buttons in two row. If you STILL don't see it, go through what I listed above, look for two little sideways arrow, top right, looks like this " >>". Click that and see if it shows up. If not, go back to that preferences-plug ins list, and try to do a fresh install of the plug in.

I couldn't get the latest version of FFdl plug-in to load with the current version of calibre (1.16). I had to go back to version 1.13 of Calibre to get the plug-in to update. It still didn't grab stories from ffn. I got the same message everyone else was getting. Hopefully, they'll have a fix soon.

It's good to know the freestanding version of FFdl is working. Now I just have to figure out how to make it work on my computer.
