This is the new thread as the other was sooo long and had lots of pages. Continuation of our wonderful discussions on Twilight Fanfiction, Books, and Life in general. But mostly Twilight fanfics... and life stuff that will get me a NOT ALLOWED statement.

Hi all! Welcome back Demaris and Peonie!

So I finished the trilogy of Light vs Dark the other day and decided to wait a few days to review it since I didn't want to completely flame it, which is what I would have done if I'd written anything as soon as I finished it. It consists of Dinia Steel's Parapsychology 101; Keeper of the Flame, and Carrying the Torch. I was excited to read these supernatural dramas especially since it begins with an Evilella with an HEA promised down the road. I found the writing immature--for example, it switches between first and third person narration inconsistently and jumps around plot points. It's simply not well developed. The coup de gras was the condescending final A/N where the author implies that if you didn't understand the (awful) conclusion of the fic, then you're just not evolved enough yet:

See how we are all different, I had read that story and frankly thought it was not that good.

I have to admit it wasn't all that original but, some of the humour in it tickled me.

That's too bad. She's a nice lady to talk with and the story ideas looked interesting.

And what's funny is I think she said she's over 70... so the juvenile writing comment is humorous. Though I guess age has nothing to do with ability to write.

I'm reading Clipped Wings and Inked Armor by hunterhunting right now and Bella has definitely been through a traumatic experience. You can find a link to the story in the Index of uploaded Twilight stories. The link to the Index is in my signature line.

Hah, I love it when basicaly cr@ppy authors consider themselves god's gift to us, lowly humans. I bet she ripped this off from someone.

So my fic tastes have been all over the place lately, so I'm just plowing through my TBR in no particular order. Here's a taste.

A good fighterward story. Two negatives - the first few chapters had rather annoying SPaGs (his skin was pail, etc.), and the opening chapter quotes were not snippets of song lyrics, but the entire song. Otherwise, it was a good fic. I'd have liked the epilogue to be longer, but it was still good as it was.

Astro has been having some health issues and between work and that, she's been a little tired. We do miss her.

As me and the hubby are getting ummm "re-acquainted"

after me being in hospital for 12 days, normally no matter how ever ill I've been in hospital we've always been able to sneak off for some sexy time, but this time the hospital was closed down due to an outbreak of the Norovirus so that meant no visitors.

I hope that everyone is okay - Bluegeek I hope that you and bump are well.

I have to go with Sideline Collision. I've tried to read I married my ex-boss, but haven't got past the first chapter.

Though I may try it again after I finish the Gravity series. I'm a little more than halfway through the 3rd book. Skimmed a lot of lemons. Though really? There aren't as many as her other stories. Turns out having kids really messes with morning lemons. LOL!

I hope that everyone is okay - Bluegeek I hope that you and bump are well.

Bump and I are doing good, aside from a tooth ache that I have decided I should see a dentist about, and of course my dentist is on vacation, so I'll have to either be in pain for a week and hope it goes away or try another dentist.

We are on a ski holiday (with my husband doing all of the skiing, while I play with our daughter in the snow) and yesterday I took the gondola up the mountain to have lunch with my husband and our friends, and got a lot of strange looks about being 7 months pregnant in ski clothes, even though I wasn't actually skiing.

Glad you are recovering well after your hospital stay.
Be glad they quarantined the hospital due to the norovirus, that stomach bug is really contagious and spreads easily (it is responsible for most of the stomach bugs on cruise ships) and you wouldn't have wanted your hubby to bring that home.
