I was about to suggest the same as Loopy Lou...I'm entrenched in two real books detective series JD Robb's and Dennis Lahane's, both very different but equally addictive. I'm taking some time away from fics; I'm hoping when I return I'll have a fresh palate and be more forgiving of some of the poo poo some Twific authors are passing out as storytelling

That's what I'm hoping as well hun.

I know what you mean, I don't mean to speak of the dead and all but when I saw her in a magazine the other week I said to my Best Gay she definitely had to be not eating or taking something as she was so thin.
I feel so sorry for her boys as they'll never remember her.

Does anyone know if Ella Frank wrote fan fiction? Just read an e-book by her and while it was excellent the beginning reminded me of one that I had read. Once the beginning was over it went on a completely new tangent. Really good book if your interested in a "real" book. It's called Veiled Innocence if anyone is interested. It does center around an older male teacher and student so if that's not your thing I'm giving a heads up.

Read it, please. It's so so so so so so worth it. If you like crying over stuff you read, that is. And it's not that wordy! Hahaha. Some fics are wordier. LOL

This is one of my all time favourite books.
I've read it (numerous times) and listened to the audiobook. I would recommend reading it as you don't get the emotions you should when listening to it, that you do when you read about certain things.

I seriously can't wait to see the film, not long now - 56 days, 10 hours, 30 minutes.
Not like I'm counting or anything.

Weather-obsessed Bella finds Edward's journal, leading her on a trip down memory lane. Back then, Edward had run away, hoping to find a new purpose. Bella couldn't wait for her chance to escape, sure she knew what she wanted. Neither one expected this.

Really sweet story, a bit of angst but not bad. HEA of course. Bella is funny as whenever she gets nervous, she spouts obscure weather facts. Mostly high school, but really it is memories of their first meeting amidst current events.

Read that and enjoyed it even though it started to get a little ridiculous about midway through the fic. Bella started out as pretty ballsy but towards the end she was mellowed out and a little more fragile than she was in the beginning. Mostly due to the drama in the story, so..

I'm kind of on a fic hiatus this week, because I've been indulging in television. But of course that hasn't stopped me from running into dud fics.

I've seen this story in so many peoples favorites, but always avoided it because it's a non canon couple. I was bored at work yesterday and tried it out and could not get in to it. SO displeased because nearly every review on the story is OMG THIS IS SO GOOD THIS NEEDS TO BE ORIGINAL FICTION I'VE NEVER READ ANYTHING LIKE THIS BEFORE WOW YOU HAVE SUCH A WAY WITH WORDS OMG!!! SO GOOD!!! I read a few chapters here and there and then flounced.

I've read a ton of YA fiction that involved jaded rich kids so the plot wasn't all that original to me, but okay. Every now and then I'll read something that is really original that only borrows a little from the Twilight gang--this wasn't it. It's the weirdest thing, this is kind of like someone wrote a story in a creative writing class and then tried to mold it into fanfiction. I realize that's essentially all that fanfiction really is, but these characters were so OOC I just didn't know what I was getting in to.

The reviews on this were more entertaining than the actual story. So many bitter reviewers sticking up for a timid and celibate Bella. This one features a completely oblivious Dumbward. I don't think the author realized they were writing such an idiot. Pretty short story about Edward trying to win back the love of his life, all while being next in line for the throne. I need to vent so I will put the spoiler cut on this one:
