Yeah I don't particularly like pdfs either, but hopefully if I loose my collection and I come across a fic in pdf that won't convert well, one of you will have it in another form and will send it to me if I ask real nicely.

I'm adding Beaches and Boardwalks to my list... it's short right? Maybe I can squeeze that in before the release of Allegiant on Thursday. Anybody else have a rec for a short one (though a little more than a one shot).
They are from Hopeless actually... Six is her friend that lives next door (windows face each other) and she texts her from her trip abroad in the beginning. And Daniel was Holder's best friend. These two didnt know each other as far as I know (in Hopeless). Neither of them had a very big role in Hopeless. I love that she released this as a freebie! I can't wait until she writes more books. For now I thinks he only has the Hopeless and Slammed series, right?

Ficfangirl - Definitely go to Forks! I'd love to hear about it. Just be careful around any folks that seem extremely pale or sparkly. ;-)

Ahhhh, That makes sense, hence why I couldn't remember them in slammed! I loved Hopeless too so will re-read that instead and I've not read Losing Hope yet so I might read that first....maybe...

you should read Losing Hope! I don't normally like stories retold from a different POV but I thought this added a lot to the story. Plus it had been a while since I read Hopeless so it was just nice to revisit the characters. Let us know what you think.

I'm off to Canada at an ungodly hour in the morning. I've never been. I'm flying into SeaTac and driving. So I'm trying to decide if I'm going to put Forks on my itinerary. It takes me out of the way since I'm headed to Vancouver, but I could take the ferry from somewhere near Forks to Victoria, then another ferry from Victoria to Vancouver. What do you think? Should I go out of my way?

So I may have messed up my computer. I wanted to update to Windows 8.1. But it said I needed a specific update first. So I ran the updates. Then I got error messages about Dropbox. So I deleted it. Then Windows 8.1 won't download. Now it's trying to update something & it won't shut down. I think it's stuck. So I may get to test out my system image I made before I started. But tomorrow. I'm too tired tonight.

Why do I like computers again?

I've seen Secretary, really great film, some really good acting.

I'm not a massive fan of James Spader but I do love him in this and Crash (the good version, not the crappy one with Sandra Bullock in) but that might have something to do with the kinky sex issues in them.

Not sure about car rentals but items definitely cost more in Canada compared to the US. And since you're going to Vancouver they have two taxes for items, 5% federal tax and 7% provincial tax, so you have to pay 12% for tax.

God, I wished we only paid 12% tax on items over here in the UK but a few years ago they increased from 17.5% to 20%!!!!!

I've just finished reading this and can't say that I was all that impressed.

I had started it ages ago but, didn't finish it.

Let's just say this is definitely one of those that Edward gets away with things simply because he is Edward. I'm pleased I completed it but, will not be reading it again.

I may be in the minority here but I'm not lookin forward to a 4th instalment. Flounced the 3rd a quarter of a way in and I'm happy to end the series on the 2nd one.

The Characters on the 3rd just made me go "WTF!" And not in a good way. If you guys could make me like an underage school girl who was "innocent" but would throw herself to a drunk older guy after one night of hanging out together, then when he refuses him she stalks him in his house and acted like a psycho ex-gf for no reason. Then pretended to go out with his older brother to make the first guy jealous but end up having sex with the older brother after one night and then they fall in love. And then suddenly the other brother was actually in love with her too and EVERYONE thinks so highly of this whiny brat because she's so 'innocent'.

Just argh!! No... Just no... I can understand that characters can change but when their motivations aren't backed up by their actions/words/characteristics it feels out of place.

So if this is like Canon twilight, after Victoria tries to kill Bella she suddenly changes the next day and becomes this super sweet and super hot Victoria that Edward falls in love in and then Bella becomes a slut that slept with Riley and Aro at the same time so we should all hate Bella now and like Victoria because that's what the author wants.

Ummm, are we talking about the same Gravity series? I read this a quite a while ago, but I don't remember Edward cheating, or Bella for that matter. Maybe I need to go back and read it again. I read so many different stories, maybe I am confusing one story for another...

Ummm, are we talking about the same Gravity series? I read this a quite a while ago, but I don't remember Edward cheating, or Bella for that matter. Maybe I need to go back and read it again. I read so many different stories, maybe I am confusing one story for another...

No, there was a misunderstanding. Crystal was talking about the Storm series by Sexilexicullen, that's a Mafiaward story I think (haven't read it yet), the rest of us was talking about the Gravity series by drotuno, with Mercenaryward and his Sweetness.

No, there was a misunderstanding. Crystal was talking about the Storm series by Sexilexicullen, that's a Mafiaward story I think (haven't read it yet), the rest of us was talking about the Gravity series by drotuno, with Mercenaryward and his Sweetness.

I should purge, too. I have no idea why I've horded all of these fics that were pulled incomplete that I will never read. It's a sickness, I tell you

I've been trying to get into Secrets and Ties by Simaril You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login (it's Bella/Jasper). I think that Simaril is an awesome writer (and I really enjoyed Out of Sight, Out of Mind), but I have been really disappointed with the fade to black where lemons should be. I think that she's probably doing that to stay within stupid Ffn guidelines, but I've found that it has detracted from the story in this case. I'm not sure why she didn't post it on twilighted like she did for her other stories

I couldn't get into Secrets and Ties either....flounced it

The narrator is never named!! After the epi the author says that that she wrote it about love without any specific gender in mind but I think there are enough clues, like the one in my spoiler above, that make me confident in my original

Me and google are the IT people in our house. My husband regularly messes up his computer. I really think he secretly disables the virus protection because it won't let him go where he wants to go.

Fortunately, I ran system restore and it went back to the last good point. I usually think to do this before downloading updates. I really don't understand how Microsoft can send out updates that don't work with the computer. Though I realize they can't know all the programs I have running on the computer. Still, when IE crashes and gives me error messages that won't go away after an update? Not good.

Decided to finally start drotuno's Gravity series today. That new update and your raves here gave me the final push.

Btw, i finished reading Lexxie Couper's Steady Beat (hearts of fame book 4) last night. You should read that series, loved it! Can't wait for the stories of the other band members. And, book 3 was an m/m (actor and his bodyguard)
