This is the new thread as the other was sooo long and had lots of pages. Continuation of our wonderful discussions on Twilight Fanfiction, Books, and Life in general. But mostly Twilight fanfics... and life stuff that will get me a NOT ALLOWED statement.

Okay, here is a place to discuss what you are reading, ask for recommendations and complain about the writing.

He was first choice to play Edward before Rob was cast, but was considered too old.

Oh my! I didn't recognize him. I just saw the movie a few days ago and he was yum!
It's funny thinking about him being Edward...

Speaking of casting. I saw Diana Gabaldon posted on her FB page defending the choice of actors for Jaime in Outlander.

Kiss of Steel (You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login) has me so worked up. I'd like to buy the next one, but its free at the library so I'm waiting for it. A little quarterback Edward is a great way to spend my time.

Fortunately Book 1 was had a nice ending and wasn't a cliffhanger! I'm so glad to hear that she's going to continue the series. At first I thought the book seemed a little complicated to keep up with but once I figured out the world she was building I was hooked. Did I mention that I love Blade? I do find the name choice strange though... he reminds me of Wolverine in my head, but with that name I keep thinking about Wesley Snipe's character! LOL Technically, in the book he looks like neither one!

I've read that one, the hard way to learn a leasson. Don't remember the plot but I do remember wanting to punch either Edward or Bella. Definitely won't be re reading that one.

I actually liked Sideline Collision, but I know it's not a nolebucgirl favorite for some. There were parts that dragged, but all in all, I definitely enjoyed it MUCH better than the Hard Way to Learn a Lesson. Everyone's got different tastes though.

Well, I wish I knew all this before I started reading The Hard Way to Learn a Lesson. It was okay. Surprised it was in someone's top 10, but like you said, everyone's got different tastes. I definitely won't be reading the sequel. While the idea is a little preposterous (two sets of teenage parents literally allowing their kids to live together for three weeks), it played out well--even if it was too long (three weeks=50+ chapters!). The author does well in writing like she's in the mind of an adolescent, which basically means that if you really like HS fics, you'll like it, and if you don't, the characters may drive you batty.

I flounced it for that reason. The writing came across as immature and the story unbelievable.

Agreed. Her last update was last summer stating she was off to uni, which explains a lot.

I look forward to seeing if she comes up with something a few years from now.

This is exciting! I love the Outlander series. I think I've read all of them so far, plus a couple of the John Gray books. After the first 4, I was surprised to see it all continue, but I still devour each new installment. And for those of you who are afraid of series or the serialization of one book, that's not what we're talking about here. These books are full meals - with appetizer, salad, entree and dessert, plus wine. You don't have to read the next one, but you'll want to.

Worked 36 hours in three days. Spent all day in the yard doing yard work on Thursday. I.am.a.fried.lobster. I rarely burn since I have olive skin, but wow, I haven't been this burnt in a long time. Arm hurts that I had elbow surgery and the muscles detached and reattached. He said no pulling weeds. I figured in had been a little over three months, so it was fine. I didn't have any problems doing it other than it got really tired fast, but that night, I had to take a pain pill I had left over. Friday we headed to the coast for the weekend and today it is back to doing washing, etc.

I don't get notifications from here in over a week and I just haven't had time or Internet to check. If it wasn't for Fanficgirl, I wouldn't have even known you girls were chatting away. In retrospect, I should have known if I wasn't getting notifications, something was wrong. We are a chatty bunch.

Finished Entwined with You by Sylvia Day, 1/2 way through Broken Angels, the first in the Angel series by drutono. So I wonder just how many pages I have missed??

Lucky girl. Maybe it's because she plays a dumb blonde on the Big Bang, but I keep seeing her as a dumb blonde.
Obviously she is not dumb to snatch him up.

I'm re reading The Geheime Vernietiging so I can read the sequel. I remember I loved it when I first read it.
Now I wish it had less s.e.x in it.
And do you know the six degrees of Kevin bacon? This fic is the one degree of Bella swan. Everybody in her life is connected to Edwards case.
It still is really good tho.

I think that maybe me rolling my eyes at those endless coincidences means that I'm ready to start reading books again. Maybe.

I don't not like cats, but I am ridiculously allergic to them.

My friend has a breed of cat that is meant to be hypoallergenic - I can't remember what sort, but it's not one of those Mr Bigglesworth things -

These do have hair. She bred them for a while and they were the cutest kittens.

But if I am inside her house for more than 5 minutes:

Siberians are usually hypoallergenic, not all but some of them. They are really big cats like Maine coons. I have always had cats and dogs all my life. My last two dogs have passed not far from each other and with my schedule, I just don't think it is fair to have anymore. I still have one inside cat as well as a stray that comes over every night and eats. My inside cat Is almost 13, weighs in at 14 pounds. So even wet, she looks big. she is not fat, although she is fluffy. she is long, tall, just big. She is a Maine coon mix and I saved her from the pound. She got hurt really bad when she was a kitten, so once she came inside to heal, she has never left.

I will show you a recent pic of her I took with my iPad. I have tried to crop my youngest sons face out, but you will see, she takes most of the picture. My son is a big man. Over 6 ft and 240 pounds and she goes from his waist to his face. She is even curled up in a ball in his arms, so you don't get the full effect of how large she is.

For those of you that read Words With Friends... Do you think you can read it without reading Words with Strangers at the same time? I think that you can, but it's been a while and I can't remember if you'd really miss out on much? I feel like WWS was mostly just extra stuff and WWF would still be great without it. Thoughts?

My friend is new to fan fiction and I want to suggest WWF to her, but I thought it got a little complicated keeping up with both stories at the same time (even with them combined into one LOL). Don't want to overwhelm her on her second fic!
