This is the new thread as the other was sooo long and had lots of pages. Continuation of our wonderful discussions on Twilight Fanfiction, Books, and Life in general. But mostly Twilight fanfics... and life stuff that will get me a NOT ALLOWED statement.

Okay, here is a place to discuss what you are reading, ask for recommendations and complain about the writing.

Unfortunately, pot is becoming almost as common as cigarettes. The stigma just isn't attached to it anymore, and it's barely even considered a hard drug. It is far too casual.

That said, I've never used or purchased it, but I sure have smelt it when I've been out!

My younger sister also tried to encourage me to get some in Amsterdam to help my asthma - this is the same sister that tried to grow some in her wardrobe when she was a teenager. She thought she was over-watering it - Mum was painting it with a herbicide!

Gen Y only consider what's in their face. They don't consider long term risks. 18 year olds don't think of things like You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login or You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login.

Generations have nothing to do with it - no teen thinks about anything past where they are right now. Unless it has to do with being able to drive. And maybe college. Where they can party without their parents knowing. It's been that way forever.

Pot has been legalized in California for medical use only. Unfortunately, almost everyone can have a "medical" need for it. A friend of my husband's grandson ate a marijuana infused chocolate bar that one of his son's friends left in their fridge. He was in a coma for about a week. He is okay now, but my husband's friend and his wife have custody now.

Why they put it in chocolate, I have no idea. It is so stupid.

That said, I think it has been legalized in Washington and Colorado as well, though I don't know if it just for medical use or for anything. Normally, I have nothing against pot - I tried it once and didn't like it, it made me giggly but tastes awful - but I never had a problem with others using it. Potheads are mellow and funny to watch at times. Drunks, not so much. I prefer potheads if I have to be around either. And like alcohol, a little is okay, a lot is not a good thing. They both kill brain cells.

But putting it in things people like to eat? Yeah, no. Not a good idea.

It's legal for medical use here in Michigan also. I can understand putting it in food. I know someone that has a medical license for it and they bake it brownies. You don't have to worry about inhaling it like smoking and the smell doesn't get all over you or bother other people. Also if there is kids in the house they aren't exposed to it. But I also can see the downside of it. Like you said what if someone eats it unknowingly.

It said on the news earlier that it could take up to 11 days to announce the name!

I hope we won't have to wait that long though.

I'm finally back - it's only the 3rd day of the summer holidays and they're killing me already.
