Okay, here is a place to discuss what you are reading, ask for recommendations and complain about the writing.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, so please play nice

Because we know drypen's watching

It's published by Harlequin.

That's not good. If it was self-pub'd I'd be a little more lenient.

You ladies are funny today. I'm still laughing about "NO NOT THERE".  :D

Is Torn a fanfic? Worth reading?

You know this by now, but EP isn't fluffy. (yes, understatement of the year).   ;) Still worth reading though.
I really love Torn.  But it is a WIP and doesn't look like it will be finished anytime soon.  So I would maybe keep it on your watch list.

And? It starts really good, but it is a little stalled right now.  Bella was abused as a child and is working through issues.  So it is not going to be a short story.  You could probably read it to where it is and feel okay about leaving it there.  Then maybe not.  :-\

Yikes! They are usually good about their editing.  That's bad...

I don't know...seems like there would be a lot of pent up...demand.
I was thinking more along the lines of being a little shy about being totally naked in front of a bunch of strangers.  It fits with the Edward is a virgin thing.  Emmett would have gone totally naked if he was trying to make a show....

I've been reading this as a WIP and have really enjoyed it.  I think D_D has been reading it as well.  I really have enjoyed what I've read so far by Pattyrose.  I got my update notice, but I've not had a chance to read it yet today.  I'll relax with the last chapter later.

Just read the update. Loved it! It ended with babies.  ^-^

I'm 4 pages behind.  :(
Trying to catch up

It ok. I don't love it. I don't see how this Bella could be a functioning human being. But I like to read about her small progress.
The author was having rl problems tho, I think she was in accident, I know she has a limp bc of it. So I don't know when it will end.

It's a lot better than wisp. couldn't read that.

I can deal with Wisp, though the latest stuff was hard and I couldn't read the backstory.  I can deal with the after effects of abuse, but not actual abuse.

Dooba had an accident a few years ago - I think not long after she started Torn.  I had read her other story so I was with this one from the beginning.  But I think she goes through phases where the pain meds don't work.  It sounded like a nasty accident, I think her hip was broken there were some other injuries.  She is a nice lady though.  I feel bad for her.

I think I like Torn so much because it reminds me of Loner by Nilla which was one of my first fanfics back when I mostly read WIPs

I can absolutely attest to Blood Lines by windchyme.  She is a genius and it is the version of BD that I prefer to believe actually happened in cannon.  All of her work is amazing (Distractions, Keepsake to name two others).  I'm new and don't know how to post stories, but I highly recommend these!

I have been looking through the different copies of The Submissive/Dominate/Training and I'm confused on The Training...   One of the copies has FGB1, FGB2, FGB3 as the last chapters.    Do you guys know what those are and if i need them or not?  (the other two copies end with the epilogue and dont have the FGBs)

Welcome Wantmoretwilightnow!

I get a little burst of patriotic pride whenever someone recs one of the Aussie writers here.

You can just copy and paste in the url for stories. Like this: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

Another way is to click on the little globe picture (when you're in the reply box). That brings up two square brackets like this: [u r l][/ u r l] and then you can paste the link in between the two square brackets.

You can also paste into the first set of square brackets, after "url" . If you were to put "=http://www.fanfiction.net/u/1943566/windchymes" inside the brackets afer url (with no spaces), and then type "like this" between the the two sets of brackets, it would display You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login.

I have learnt all of this from the lovely ladies here, and by clicking on the quote button and looking at how they actually replied. You'll soon learn that you really can't go wrong if you just ask, and if you watch the square brackets.

To link the stories, you just go to the story on ffn, TWCS or wherever you've read it, copy the URL (you know, You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login) and paste it in your post reply box here.

FGB means Fandom Gives Back.  So it means it's the one shots she wrote for various charitable compilations.  So they're outtakes or futuretakes for the stories.

FGB is Fandom Gives Back - it's a charity fundraising thing. Not certain, but my understanding that authors offer up a story/outtake and you can bid. Winning bid gets the fic. Either they can decide to share or the author can share after a certain time period has lapsed.

These FGBs for The Submissive/Dominate/Training are future takes. My copy of The Training has Chapter 29 as the epilogue and then FGB 1/2/3 which I'm pretty sure are future-takes.

So, you don't need them, but if you enjoy the characters, you might enjoy seeing where they go.

I guess that is the one good thing about reading it as a wip. It is a VERY long fic. I think her book cuts out a lot of filler. She was very wordy. But, the mafia parts are coming.
About Sempre (the book)...

Keep with it Ella, I've read both Sempre and EP and yesterday I read Principessa (quick read, extra novella) Yes there are a lot of SPaG errors but the story is heartfelt. Do NOT take 'a break', I know that's euphemism for flounce!
What is this Principessa and is it worth reading?  I've only read Sempre, the published version.

Thanks! If it didn't have that stuff, then I think I know what Redemption will be about. Sounds like it was split in 2 and  more waiting for me, but December will be busy. (I'm still on pins & needles waiting for Gabriel's Redemption RD 3 Dec). I always wait for a series to complete before starting the first one. I am not a patient woman.   ^-^
I haven't been this excited about a book release since back in the days of midnight releases for Twilight and Harry Potter!   I'm not kidding when I say that I will most likely take the day off so that I can devour this book!  Gabriel is on a pedestal in my mind, far and above any of my other book boyfriends!   He can't be touched!

So I think you only know half the story then. I think you'd want to wait to read Principessa, which is an EP outtake (that takes place after the epilogue of EP) found here You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login, either after reading EP or Sempre Redemption (Sempre 2) which should release in December. EP has a lot of outtakes, but this one alone is more than 70 pages long! It is its own novella.

I just finished reading Truth by Sherri Hayes (the third book in the Finding Anna series, which started out as a fanfic called Finding Bella).  I plowed right through the first two books and was enthralled.  She decided to make 4 books out of her planned trilogy.  In the third book, something happens at the very beginning and in the last 25 pages and almost everything in between feels like filler.  The last book is not scheduled to come out until next year.  I'm not sure I can maintain my interest until then.  I pre-ordered the book and got it before the release date and it's taken about 3 weeks to read it because it just wasn't grabbing me since the material was stretched so thin.  As you can see, I'm disappointed.

I know this was posted pages ago, but thanks for saving me from getting into this series and feeling the same disappointment. I thought book 3 was it, now I might not read them at all, same with Sylvia Day's Crossfire series. Too much filler to sell more books, no thank you!

Sometimes I actually go back and finish things that I take breaks from.....

But I started Cotton Creek right before I started EP.  Hmm, now that I think about it, I was reading something on my other Kindle and something on my tablet.  Sigh. I should actually finish something....  ;D

I really liked Cotton Creek you should go back and finish  ;D
