I'm with you RD.  I believe (among any other names I've been called) that someone told me they felt like I was a mother figure on the Twilight threads.  I think I'll take mother over grandmother.

Welcome back from your vacation and thanks for the great pics.

Ella - thanks for making them an appropriate size!  We don't want PTS to crash!

Yea I had made them width=500 when I posted and the panorama ones since the height was so skinny, I figured width=1000 would have been fine. I guess not though, she made them all width=450

I just finished reading Truth by Sherri Hayes (the third book in the Finding Anna series, which started out as a fanfic called Finding Bella).  I plowed right through the first two books and was enthralled.  She decided to make 4 books out of her planned trilogy.  In the third book, something happens at the very beginning and in the last 25 pages and almost everything in between feels like filler.  The last book is not scheduled to come out until next year.  I'm not sure I can maintain my interest until then.  I pre-ordered the book and got it before the release date and it's taken about 3 weeks to read it because it just wasn't grabbing me since the material was stretched so thin.  As you can see, I'm disappointed.

Your edit made me want to thank you twice!   :D

I too, am extremely grateful for all the effort that has gone into this.  Especially ficfangirl and her helpers - I don't have the vocabulary to express sufficiently.

OMG I have been trying to post this for about 5 minutes - it's been a while since the pink box annoyed me!

Oh I agree 1000000 %. We would have never guess years ago, what this turned into today. I mean look, we have a whole section on PTS now. That spreadsheet was very necessary many posts later. So..

:-* :-* :-* :-* :-* MMMMMMMMMUUUUUWAAAAAAAHHHHH.  :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*

Well when I came here in Oct 2011, there was just a few of us and we started asking for fics that was pulled that no-one seemed to have anywhere. Back then we had no warning when things disappeared via ff witchhunts or author pulling. We started sharing what we had and what we knew about whom. It later split into two places. One to talk (as you can see we are quite talkative) and one place to share the pulled stories. Back years ago, I could keep up with the one thread and post stories I had. With the explosion of the calibre and the wonderful ladies copying everything by authors in one fail swoop, I will forever be indebted to you. I don't have time to pull down stories anymore, so I have let the younger, more energetic ones blast through and if I need something, I will ask. Back in the day before flagfic, etc. I copied and pasted each chp into word. That was a pain in the A.s.s.

I had to go back and look. Oh wow, I surfaced on page 2 of the original thread. Awl....I am like grandma.  :D :D :D

I remember lurking on the first thread...And I might well have asked for stories, I remember being really sheepish and 'cheeky' asking you all every few days for more stories. Tami, who I never see over here, was like the Gunslinger of Fanfiction she was so quick off the mark. By 152 thread 2 I started talking, but when we moved over here, to do recs and chatter, well! I came into my own; I'm on page 2 congratulating Ella for starting it. I don't know what I'd have done if I haven't stumbled onto 152 Twilight Fanfics.....

FFG I just found a post from you, over a year ago, pointing me to Isle de Cullen by CaraNo  :-*

I can agree. I didn't think there was such a thing as too many lemons. As wips, even if you have a lemon in every chp they are a month or so apart for the reader. I was in the middle of reading the first Angel series of Drutuno and just kinda of abandoned. It was getting a little redundant.  I started two other books and read a fanfic between. Hard to say at this point if I will go back.

Your other point of knowing what is coming next maybe why I don't re-read. I am ok with knowing the general plot and I would be pissed if I didn't know it was HEA, but knowing all the details, naaaahhhh.
I loved the Angel series.  BUT I did skim through a lot of the lemons.  Edward is so hot and sweet in them.

And I love Demitri!  I never thought I would say that.  :D :D ;D

THANK YOU for this! I have the 3 books and have been looking everywhere to figure out if the series was finished so that I could read it. Now I know there's a fourth and the third book sucks. It's great to know!

I've read the first two I didn't realise there was a third...it felt finished to me after the last one.  So you wouldn't recommend it then?

I didn't actually finish this series as I got bored - possibly all the lemons.  I do like her style of writing though, so I will probably read them in the future.

Now if I could skim, that might be the answer to the problem. I find if I start skimming, I loose interest. Then I start finding reasons not to read. When that happens, it is time to move on. There is too many that are good. I want to be engrossed. I want to become Bella (which is also hard because many I really despise her). I want to feel what Edward feels. I want to be twitching in my seat and panting.

Again, I may go back, I don't have much of Book 1 left, it just got repetitive without being hawt and the plot seemed to have issues moving forward. Geez how many books are they?

Wow, I started back in November of 2011.  I think I just downloaded and thanked people for a while.  I didn't have much of a collection back then and mostly it was mobi because of my Kindle.  I'm feeling old now.

Fanficgirl - it's no problem.  I did love the beautiful pics.  But I remembered Drypen telling us to keep it at 450 or less.  So I sadly had to adjust them.   :(

There are four - I liked the first one the least out of all of them.  Which is a little strange I think.  I may have liked the third the best.  And you may be able to read them separately without needing too much explanation.  Bella's power ends up being pretty cool.

But yeah, if you can't skim the lemons. it can get annoying. "oh Edward! Harder! Faster! OH RIGHT THERE!!" Yeah, can only take so much of that.....  :D :D :D

Until I read the last book (assuming I do), I can't tell you whether the 3rd one can be skipped.  Although, you could probably read the just the first 25 pages and the last 25 pages and know what was going on when you got to the 4th book.  You would just have to decide whether you care.  Right now, I'm so disappointed that I'm not sure I do care.  Give me a little time to get over my disappointment and I'm sure my OCD will kick in and I'll have to know how it ends.

Well, I'm working my way through EP.  Half of me wants to flounce and the other half is interested enough to keep going.  Or at least to hope something happens soon.  I'm on page 459.  And there are another 1700 pages or so?   :-[

It just is kind of stupid.  They are supposedly mafia, but it is just the regular characters with a not so nice Carlisle.  So though I'm liking the E/B interactions? The rest is annoying.  And the SPaG errors. Sigh.  :banghead:

Maybe I should take a break and read something else for a while...

Yea, I want to be panting, not eye rolling. Your quote above is almost exactly how some of the things I have read were. Unfortunately, they will never be anywhere near my top 10,000 list. Lemons are required for me. I just loose interest if there is none. It's like reading the 3000 pages of twilight series to get to some feathers and a broken headboard. I almost threw the book across the room.  :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

It is why I really don't like HS fics. There is no way they have the experience in the sack to be good and therefore it is unrealistic. But then again, I guess I need some good ust to warm me up. Some authors can describe it well and send me to defcon 10. Others, nope, they just don't cut it.

I guess that is the one good thing about reading it as a wip. It is a VERY long fic. I think her book cuts out a lot of filler. She was very wordy. But, the mafia parts are coming.

I'm not actually big on the mafia parts.  Though if someone wants to mess up James, it probably wouldn't bother me at all.
